A solid smoke in every sense. This stick does not excel in any one category, it does well in all of them. I take this stick out every time I want to insure I have a good smoke. It never falls short.

This was an excellent cigar. I bought a box for my daughters birth. Truly excellent.... excellent wrapper and appearance. Great flavor with an even burn. I will make sure that my humidor is never out of them again.

Good looking wrapper. First third tastes like, well, CTBL. In a good way, since I've always loved the broadleaf. But there wasn't much going on beneath the sweet and peppery zing of the wrapper. Given the size of this behemoth, I kept waiting for the flavors to evolve, but to no avail. There was a little woody base, but it was relatively static for 90 minutes. For someone seeking their CTBL fix, there are cheaper, less cumbersome ways to get it.

I agree with all that this is a great cigar, but wait....if you put this baby in your humidor and let it sit for a year(which is hard to do)it becomes a cigar for the ages!!! I can't believe the price of the babies and the taste is unbelievable as well!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!

I think this is by far one of the best cigars out there for your money.Excellent taste throughout and a cigar that I keep on hand at all times in my humidor.No other cigar has a permanent place in my humidor except this one!!!!! That says it all.

This was smooth & creamy, with large volumes of smoke. Medium-bodied to start, but got quite a bit stronger into the last 3rd. Like previous reviewers, I bought this b/c it was on the top 25 under $6 - and glad I did. No need to let this one rest, it is delish right away. The perfect draw and construction made this more enjoyable than the Padron 4000M I had last week.

The price is right. Good looking, well constructed, with ample smoke and taste. Hell, I even detected cocoa notes. I sometimes have a hard time putting my finger on what I can quantify. Irregular burn is my only complaint.

This cigar is worthy of all the good reviews listed here. I too have been smoking these things for years and never thought I could pick em up at 72.00 dollars a box. Smoked many different $$$$ cigars, this is still the best.

I picked this cigar up because of its ranking in the Top 25 under $6. I was not disappointed. This is a huge cigar, a dark wrapper with some bumps and veins. Pre-light draw was coffee with a little bit of earthiness. When the cigar was lit, it was close to the same. Lots of coffee, with hints of earthiness and a little cocoa. Burn was not bad, needed one or two touchups. Draw was very good. Overall a good cigar and a great value for around $6. I would buy it again.

This cigar lit well from the start, but then began to burn unevenly. The flavor was smooth and consistent throughout with a medium body. However, it continued to burn unevenly and had to be re-lit three times. The draw became tighter at the half way point but opened up for the final third of the cigar. Aside from construction this cigar was very enjoyable.

Excellent cigar for the experienced smoker. These sticks are very reasonably priced and it's a very top notch smoke in every aspect. If you've never had one, treat yourself to complete pleasure!!!!!!!!!!!!

This cigar is probably the best value for anyones cigar dollar. It is without a doubt a top rate smoke and a cigar that can't be way outdone by any other cigar regardless of price.I have smoke cigars in all price ranges and all in all this cigar is top of the class!!!!

Excellent Medium Taste, Burn, Construction. Smokin these babbies for 4 years now, and nothing else compares.

Beautiful cigar. Mostly medium bodied smoke, creamy with hints of cocoa for the majority of the cigar. By the middle of the cigar, it gets becomes moderately peppery and spicy. At the end, the peppery taste really jumps out at you with hint of leather, and aroma has a hint of what smells kind of like freshly cut lawn, in an interesting way. Draw changes a bit throughout the smoke, and near the middle and end didn't seem to burn as evenly, but not severe enough to take away from the experience.

Good looking full-sized cigar with a trouble-free burn. Very flavorful and reasonably complex. Surprising final third; this one grew fuller and stronger the longer I smoked it. Which was great, because with a cigar this size I felt satisfied enough that I held on as long as I wanted to and then let go without any remorse. I agree; it's a reasonably priced classic.

The sight of this cigar in my local B&M immediately grabbed my attention. Great appearance, superb construction and nice size (54 x 7.25). I like big ring gauge for the way it feels in my hand and I was looking for a long smoke. Cut and lit perfectly and easily. Medium bodied but not quite as strong as many maduros. Creamy and smooth all the way to the end with even burn, nice ash and great smoke output for the entire 7.25 inches. Left me with a great aftertaste (but not too much) that I wish many cigars would have. A great cigar plain and simple.

I think I'll have to pick up a box of these. They are definitely in my "to smoke again" category and highly recommended.

This cigar is an astounding smoke that I highly recommend to someone looking for a much pleasurable smoking experience. I'm another smoker who enjoys these on a regular basis. Everything about this cigar is top rate!!!!!!!

This was my first real cigar when i started years and years ago, and it's just as good now.
Beautiful cigar, very nice draw, burn was very good (they used to have big problems with this years ago, but seem to have corrected it).
Lots of spice, mainly white and black pepper, full-bodied, nutty, some cocoa.

Excellent medium bodied cigar. Excellent in every way. I would recommend these cigars to anyone, new cigar smoker or ever day Cuban smoker. Neither would be disappointed. These are always in my humidor.

Large cigar thats very easy on the senses. I love how it does not overwhelm and yet produces wonderful undertones and very pleasant flavors. Very affordable stick for its size

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! It just doesn't get any better. I smoke these on a very regular basis and they rarely, and I mean really let me down. Lets call it "cigar heaven". I have smoked well over 50 different cigar brands and so many different sizes and this one still stands out. I think I'll go and smoke one now!!!

This cigar is why I keep smoking cigars. If I had to chose one cigar as my favorite regardless of price, this would be it. I have smoked cigars for about 10 years and I've enjoyed over 1,000 of these over that time period-with a total of about 5 that would not draw.That in itself is totally amazing!!! Highly recommended smoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this stick just to try something new. I will be buying more for the humidor. The construction was good, although the draw was a little tight, it did not prevent enjoyment of this cigar. The taste was spicey with a small amount of leather on the finish. Overall, this is a good smoke and can only get better with some age.

I have a box of these that has been aging about 3 years. Smoked one yesterday afternoon/evening and with my eyes closed thought I was into a Padron Anniversario in Maduro. Smooth, chocolatey. A fine cigar. A 3 beer cigar. Didn't take it too the nub as it got too cold out! Highly recommended but start early in the day when it is warmer.

a very good burn, even and bright, slow and steady. a good draw with an interesting taste, dont know how to describe it though. the construction was also good.

This looks like a cigar that means business and it does. Lights good and burns good had 4 inch and a half plus ashes in the tray. A little tight on the draw but not too bad. Great flavor all the way through, when I first started I thought it was going to kick my butt but it never got to strong. Overall a great smoke and value at $3.75, by the way the length i s 7,25 and the ring size is 54.

I love these. After going through many #1 naturals and being continually satisfied, I tried the maduro. Just as good. A tad bitter, but that's only in comparison to the #1 natural which is the smoothest smoke I've ever had. Perfectly constructed, every time.

This cigar can look a bit intimidating, but don't let the looks fool you; It's a sweetheart of a smoke all the way through. It looks a bit overpowering but is really very smooth and quite a bit milder than one might expect. It has lots of flavor and never dissapoints.

This is a great every day stick. Well constructed, good draw and plenty of flavor. Very consistant.

This one has a nice medium flavor of toastiness, with highlights of cocoa and chocolate. Although it had an excellent burn overall, several pieces did the exact same thing at about 3.5"....the flavor fell apart and turned mild and bland. With some better flavor consistency in the second half these would be outstanding.

Ive had the #3 Maduro and it was a treat, expected similar experience from this big beauty. Good looking cigar that burned well so construction was up to par, the flavor and aroma were not though. A good cigar, aroma just did not grab my attention

I've had a couple in the past 2 weeks. They draw perfectly. Mild-medium taste but smooth and not harsh. Burn straight all the way down and I nub these. Wonderful with a hoppy pale ale.

I love these stogies. It has a medium to full flavor which is always consistent. However, Once a had one that was slightly disfigured, but they can not always be perfect.

I have had about 10 of these to date, and they have to be one of the best buys out there. Medium to fuller taste, never harsh, always burn great.

This cigar is heaven!

This cigar was ok. the flavor definitly can be discribed as toasty and a little woody. The flavor stayed the same through out most of the cigar which for my taste kinda lost my interest. still is a pretty good smoke though.

I really like these cigars. Medium strength with nice leathery toasty wood flavors. I do think they are a little too soft and they burn pretty quick. Overall a real nice smoke!

Very smooth, nice construction and burn and plenty of smoke. But the flavor and taste are not so rich nor deep. Maybe a good golfing cigar.

I used to be a fan of this one, but at least the one I had this weekend was poor. It burned poorly, started bitter, never developed any character and after a while, I just gave up on it because it was not enjoyable. Too bad, I really like other HDM cigars.

Beautiful appearance, solid construction, consistent throughout. Firm and very even draw, lasts forever. Initially mild, develops into medium to full-bodied with notes of wood, nuts, and a hint of "sweet earth". Very smooth. There are a few (not many) better cigars, but no better value.

Exceptional every time. This is one fine smoke.

Started out mild, then got a bit better. Hot at the end. Not as great as the other HDM series I've had, but good all around.

Had it while playing golf and it lasted nine holes, wow. Started a little mild but got better as it went. Went from mild to medium. Nice burn and draw. Very good value. A nice creamy beginning that ended with a smooth medium taste.

Smooth, medium bodied smoke, rich with notes of coffee. Draw and burn were both excellent and she burned nice and slow. Construction was beautiful as well. A very pleasant maduro, especially for $6.00. Great after a meal!

Medium-bodied smoke, with strong cocoa flavors. The wrapper had some stretch marks, but the oily sheen and smoothness balanced that out. Always performs well.

I aged one of these for about 2 years and i have to say, it was one of the best smokes i've ever had. made the cigar taste like 10x its price!

I'm so use to bigger cigars that this one suprised me. I was shocked when I lit this one up, and was enjoying it. A very pleasent suprise.

I wish I had discovered this one sooner: superior construction that results in massive billows of smooth, rich smoke. Plus, this cigar is inexpensive and widely available. Kudos to Hoyo de Monterrey.

Wonderful cigar. Have smoked six now, and every one was a delight. Nice complex flavors that change as the cigar burns down, which helps break the time--this baby takes a long time to smoke.

Flavor and aroma redolent of chocolate, nuts with greater intensity than any other cigar I have tried. Takes 1.5 hours to smoke. Heads and shoulders above competition

This had a nice oily shien to it. It had many flavors including coffe and some nuttiness.very rich but not to strong

This was a great smoking experience. High quality in burn and taste. A beautiful cigar that went great with Scotch.
