"Aging makes it priceless"
My boxes are dated June/05. Smoked one upon their receipt and it was good- but the added year made this cigar perfect. Rich flavor, spicy and woody- smoked it to the nub. I have 49 different cigars- this is #1 as my fave.

"I just don't agree..."
I respectfully disagree with the overwhelming positive reviews on this cigar. I've had three to date (thought I needed to give it a fair shake), and have found it one-dimensional. For the price, I'd much rather have two (or three) VSGs or Tatuajes. I think this cigar pales in comparsion to the Anejo.

"Woody and Spice"
It started off a little harsh but quickly mellowed out to a smooth woody taste and aroma. This is one tasty cigar.

"Competes with Opus X"
Yep the best. Up there with the best of the best. Every review is right. I got 5 as as a gift from my brother and had no idea what the price was until I looked it up here. All I knew was not cheap. I'd love to say I'd buy more but at $19 my GH and JDN Antano taste better than ever.

"Can't believe I paid this much for a cigar"
This cigar is incredible, but seriously, $19/stick is a lot of money. This is quite simply one the nicest cigar I have ever smoked. I still can't get over the price.

"Outstanding"
What an awesome cigar. Impeccable appearance and construction. Great taste and even burn. Consistent and only flaw is the price.

"Superb"
I'm a huge fan of Fuente cigars, and up to yesterday I thought the top of the line Fuente was the Opus X. Yesterday (Christmas eve) my brother gave me a couple of 2005 Robustos God of Fire by Don Carlos, and since my brother insisted on me smoking one right there with him, I did. From the first creamy puff to the last it was, well, perfect. Heavy wood flavors, with earthy and floral notes that stay throughout, becoming more complex as the smoke progresses. Spiciness appears about 1/3 of the way down the stick. Of course, the draw and burn were perfect, with each puff bringing the largest amount of smoke of any cigar I've tried. Even though it is a Light to medium bodied smoke, whereas I prefer fuller bodied cigars, the sheer complexity of flavors this stick brings to the table is enough for anyone to thoroughly enjoy it. I will buy more for sure, and so should you!

"Great, but the price"
Just a wonderful cigar from Fuente...beautiful in appearance, perfect draw with clouds of lush smoke, razor sharp burn. The taste is great, I would describe it as a nice marriage of the flavors of the Don Carlos and Hemingway lines, perhaps just a little more full-bodied than either of them. The only drawback? The price...at close to $25 a pop, you could smoke two Lusitanias, etc etc....but still just a great cigar.

"Best of the Best"
I just smoked my first one and am VERY impressed. This cigar is really worth the price. Very smooth , yet full of complex flavors . The flavor lasted throughout the cigar. The construction was perfect . Firm to the touch, yet easy to draw with a cool smoke that allowed me to smoke it to the nub. They only made a few boxes of these so buy one before thier gone! You Will not regret it!

"The Gods have spoken!"
I recently purchased a box of these, and I opened it and smoked two of them in the first three days. I can't believe how good they are, especially for their comparative youth...the construction, burn and draw is at least as good as their cousin, the Opus X, hard as a rock, yet a very lush draw...how the heck do they do that? The wrapper on the Don Carlos is med-dark brown, and so smooth that I couldn't find ONE prominent vein. Silky, with a nice oily sheen to it. Lights easily, and stays lit...and starts with luscious floral notes that stay throughout the stick...as it progresses, it adds some nice spice notes, with some white pepper as well as surprisingly complex tobacco flavors that show outstanding depth, especially (again) for it's age. The boxes of ten are all coffin-enclosed smokes, (in both the Don Carlos Robusto and the Carlitos Double Robusto), and the packaging is extremely nice. Each box is numbered, with a cert. of authenticity in the box. The Don Carlos for 2005 only made 400 boxes of ten, the Carlito 900 boxes of ten, and they also released a sampler, 1000 boxes of four: one each of the 2005, plus two 2004 Churchills whicxh are VERY hard to find now. (I just followed an auction for one of the 2004 sticks, and it sold for 76.00) I ended up buying 6 boxes of the Don Carlos and 4 of the Carlitos, and a few samplers. I am not the type to spend this much money on cigars because they look pretty, and consider myself lucky to have found these. I would recommend this cigar to lovers of Opus X, and, of course, collectors, as 400 boxes don't spread around too far! Try www.coronacigar.com as they have some of each of the three 2005 offerings.
