"A very pleasant smoke"
My experience with these are from 02.
What a nice ly constructed cigar. everything was right about this stick. From the cigar band to the color of the wrapper this screams class smoke.
I wasn't disappointed when I clipped it and the cold draw flavor was prominent and pleasant. I stayed on the cold draw for a wee bit just to sense what the lit leaf will be like.
After lighting it the pleasure just increased. The smoke taste was very relaxing. Cocoa perhaps. Leathery for sure. The burn was even and the ash was long.
I will go out of my way to smoke a HDM Churchill.

"one of the greats"
This is my favorite cuban cigar, I like it more than the Cohiba Churchill. It's a long and mild smoke that you can enjoy for an hour or two on the golf course.

"loving that Hole...."
century old marketing or not, the claim that excess water drains into the on-site ditch or hole or Hoyo, produces superior tobacco is true, at least for me. This smoke was much more pale in apperance to my DBL Coronas. the wrapper is oozing with 2 year old oils.
from its silky touch to its delicate tea and almond like flavor, its as much a classic as the Hoyo DBL Corona

"not such a good Hoyo"
Have smoked several of these and all of them have had peeling wrapper problems, even with proper humidification. The burn rate is not so good, nor is the draw. Seeing as i did not pay for these, I would not throw them away but would not buy them either

"Not bad..."
A very nice smoke. Perfectly constructed - beyond just about anything I've come across here in the US. The draw was not bad, but a bit tight until about the 1/3 mark. After that it really opened up. As for the flavor, it was pretty good, starting off with some smooth wood flavors and building on that as time passed. Nothing spectacular, but an overall pleasant experience. As a side note, this cigar was given to me by a friend, so I did not have to pay anything for it. If I had, I would probably be a little disappointed. Being a genuine Cuban puro, I had some high expectations of it. However, since my pocketbook was no lighter for the experience, I was pretty content. My ranking of value is based on how I would have felt if I had paid the current average price if $13.00 for it.

"Bad luck"
I tried this cigar from my local canadian shop a few weeks back. I have to say I do not think I will try it again. I do not know if it was a true Cuban Hoya (still have to make my way back to the store). The cigar was tight and aroma was less pleasing than typical. The flavour was rather harsh and unpleasing. I have heard some good things about this cigar but my first experience will ensure I take a whike before I try it again

"Dang it....."
Second Cuban in a row that was so tight that smoking it tired me out. Looked nice, smelled great, I had it in my habano humidor which is at 65%. Cigar actually burned quite well, even all the way down as I was double and triple clutching the draw to get some smoke. It actually got a bit better when it was in the last 2 inches but it was still tough. Too bad, the taste was good.

"Average..."
Tight draw, had to struggle a little bit to get through this one. Even burn all the way through. Very mild cigar, wood & spice tastes.

"Too bad"
It's a shame this one was plugged, I only smoked about an inch. The pre draw was a little tight, but it was nothing to be concerend about. The wrapper was nice and smooth with a few small veins. The flavor was nice and nutty, and the strength was building when this one stopped smoking.

"Not my favorite cuban"
Tight roll lead to a unsatisfying smoke. Mild flavor, this is my second hoya that suffered on construction.

"Cuban subtlety"
Smoked 2002-12. Attractive Colorado wrapper. Some draw difficulties leading to re-lights. Surprisingly mild. Complex and flavourful nevertheless, with definite spiciness.

"my second favorite"
Probably my second favorite Cuban brand, next to Cohiba. Had nice flavors of cocoa. Gave a slight buzz. Nice even burn.

"a genuine classic"
CLO SEP00 box -- these beauties will lite up your life! deep rich flavors of chocolate, leather, and cedar; loads of smoke; perfect burn - lasts 2+ hours; 1 in box was throw-away from a construction standpoint, most others were perfect

"HM Churchill"
Very pale looking cigar. Draw is a bit tight. Mild for ISOM, but builds with complex spiciness toward the end. No heart-pounding strength here. Burn was rather good. Fair amount of smoke. Flavors of coffee and toast with cedary finish. An honest cigar.

"Good, full body smoke"
Good, no surprise full body smoke with some spice, cedar and dark coffee beans at the finish.
Should be aged at least for a year, if comes from a box of 2001 production.

Dog Rocket! Resembling the '99 crop of DC's--all spice and no complexity. A soulless streetwalker in jazzy threads.(80)
