"Special cigar"
Finally! I just smoked the fifth out of a box. First two- amazing!!! Next two very tough draw. Taste was awesome in all of them. Somebody suggested that I leave them in the cabinet for a while.....3 months later...JACKPOT! What a great smoke. Subtle flavors that kept me entertained for the better part of two hours. Here's hoping the rest of the box draws as well as this one.

"A Really Good Cuban Doble Corona"
I recently got a 15 pack of these from '05. When I first got them I smoked one and it was a major disappointment. The draw was tight, it didn't seem to have much flavor and it seemed a little dry. I put them in my humidor and smoked a couple after a month. OOOhh what a difference. Great tobacco flavor with hints of leather and just a nuance of earth and very, very smooth. A good even burn, lasting around an hour and 45 minutes. A real pleasure. Almost, but not quite, as good as a Partagas Lusitania. A excellent doble corona.

"Divine"
The best Double Corona for the afternoon which wont make you feel light headed if you haven't had a meal. Really leathery and woody and smooth with perfect construction. They just taste marvellous. I do not think they need to age that long as they are quite mild to start off with. My box is JUN 06 and is smoking well now.

"hmm"
Aged 3 years. OK looking mild-medium to medium bodied smoke. Flavor started out oak.cedar then a cream note came in about an inch or so in. The next 1/3 opened up a bit and tasted of oak.pepper.leather. The taste remained pretty much the same the rest of the cigar except the pepper flavor came more to the front as it went on. Draw was a bit tight for my preference and burn was off for half of the cigar before straightening itself out. Overall, it was OK, but not great.

"A trip to Morrocco - I agree!"
A real cigar to get your taste buds guessing where you are going to go next. This superb cigar takes you around the globe from Morrocco, Cuba, the wet woody forests of Germany ending up in the spicy souks of Egypt. Wow what a cigar! This cigar went through a period of being below its normal calibre over the last few years and its reputation suffered a bit but I hope that it is now back for good as one of the best Havanas available. Really good for a Sunday afternoon after a really sumptious roast chicken and a few glasses of red wine.

"Rewarding or what!"
Two hours of escapism away from reality. Divine Morrocan leather flavours in the first third that turn more spicy as the journey continues. Lock yourself away and enjoy and switch of the mobile phone.

well the first one i smoked was fresh out of the box, and misbehaved like a red-headed step child. Fast forward 2 months for Round 2, and OH. MY. GOD. the single best cigar to ever grace my lips, period. Creamy and smooth with a sweet spot that start at the third puff and lasts till you burn your fingers. we have a new champéon.

"Long & Lovely."
This baby sure is a great substitute for those days of missing the Double Corona Opus X. Out of 5, I only had one bad experience. The last Hoya Double was the best cigar I ever smoked! After a great meal with family who could ask for more. Mildy flovered with a sweet spot that lasts for an hour and gets better and better. Highly recommended. It also tastes better the more you age it!

Very long stick, but draw was good - though had to relight twice. Spicy, woody taste with hint of coffee. Good solid cigar, but not in my top 10 Cubans list.

Beautiful cigar that is a pleasure to smoke. Slight mocha and coffee taste with woody undertones. Superb construction and wonderful draw. Bit on the lighter side for my taste but would make a sensational smoke for novice and seasoned smoker alike. Highly recommended!

"Relaxing Smoke"
This cigar had that typical ISOM taste and great construction. The draw was smooth and the burn very even. I received this cigar as a club selection from the Canadian Cigar Club and it was one of the better cigars that they have provided. Overall an enjoyable experience.

"O.K. for a Cuban"
This was a good cigar, but not spectacular by any means. The construction was very good, especially for such a long stick. I never had any draw problems. The flavor was nice, but never outstanding. It had notes of tobacco box and wood and remained very consistent throughout. Only hints of the trademark Cuban spiciness were discernable. Again, this was not a bad smoke, but if you want to experience a Cuban cigar, try one of the other marquee brands.

"Good stick"
A nice smoke. Box code LKV 1/05. Fairly plain wrapper with medium veins. Solid construction without soft spots. Nice prelight aroma. Easy light. Smooth draw. Required 2 relights but burned fairly evenly throughout the whole stick. Gray ash. Started with a medley of wood and cream, to which was introduced notes of mild leather and nuts. In the middle third, a cedary note emerged as the dominant flavor from the woody melange. The last third, which was the most complex and flavorful, combined a slightly tangy note as well as herbal elements to the wood and cream. In all, this almost 2 hour medium bodied smoke was fairly typical of the HdM flavor profile, which I enjoy. I did not smoke it with an accompanying beverage, but it would pair well with coffee or light bourbon, in my opinion.

"Smooth and Rich"
This is a mild-medium kinda cigar that is real smooth and tasty. Flavor changes slightly two or three times. Kinda like a less powerful VSG Spellbound. Gorgeous to look at with a dark brown oily wrapper. Another great weekend smoke when you want to watch an important ball game and you need a serious get down to business cigar

"Awesome"
This is a decidedly mild-medium bodied but flavorful habano. Burn on the recent production cigars that I have had have been excellent as well as the draw. Finding the time for this is not easy but when you have the 90 minutes or so necessary, a Hoyo DC is a delightful companion.

This prominente is very prominent indeed. The impressive size, the delicate floral flavor, the creamy smoke...the one I smoked had the grayish powder on it as an indication of good ageing and high quality wrapper. Great cigar for special occasions. Will buy again despite the high price

"one of the greatest"
I have only recently started smoking these cigars and am very impressed. This is the best double corona I have ever smoked and one of the gratest cigars I have ever smoked. It has a distinctive aroma and flavor. Its construction, draw, and burn, are excellent. It is full bodied and toasty with chocolate, cinamin, and nutmeg flavors. Midway through there are aditional flavors of cocoa and cofee bean. Despite these complexities it is smooth with a leathery and woody finish. The cigar is well aged and I can enjoy it almost any time of the day but enjoy it best in the morning or afternoon after lunch. I strongly recommend this cigar to everyone and urge you to take the time to enjoy it. Not only does it have a great flavor it has good value compared to many other cigars.

"Marvelous Complex Cigar"
My first box of Cubans.
They're not as pretty as some...the wrappers are not as smooth ad they could be. Other than that, they're well-constructed.
The draw can be tight. I recommend keeping them at 65%.
The flavor is excellent. Maybe a touch less spicy than a Romeo y Julieta Churchill, but similar. Very, very complex. The taste changes constantly. A little spice. A little sweetness. The taste is balanced. No part of the flavor overwhelms. It's just a really pleasant smoking experience.

"I don't know"
I don't know if I should realy rate this gar the one I have was out of the humidor and not treated too well. As a result the wrapper was unwinding as I smoked and became a project.
THe flavour was good to the last third where it lost its hearty flavour and became dirt flavoured. I will have to give them a second chance before I write of this gar.

"bad batch?"
I've let my box age for a year and they're not getting much better. Construction sucks - flavor isn't much of an issue when I feel like I'm trying to suck the proverbial golf ball through the garden hose. Flavor is good, but not very full bodied. When I get a good one, it's very good. This describes about 1 out of 3 I've smoked - not a winning percentage.

RPO NOV01 box bo't in Madrid 5.02 at an unbelievable price!!! it's no wonder these have been used as a medium of exchange!! everything is as it should be in this cigar: flavor that REALLY tastes like chocolate + leather + cedar + caramel; medium bodied, burns well, you have to knock the ash off with a hammer -- no joke, I experimented once: 3 successive 2+" drops! plenty of smoke that smells great

"Still one of the best"
I always loved HDM DC. If it is a real thing and from a good batch it is one of the best DCs out there.
This one came from the box of Nov. 2002. Same dark Colorado oily wrapper which gives off a sweet honey like smell. Very flavorful with hints of caramel, coco beans and some light leather at the finish, also some lingering cedar. Very enjoyable smoke, mellow, smooth, but yet full bodied.
Somewhat young, but will definitely improve with age.
