"Smoked it to the nub!"
This was my first premium cigar years ago. Given to me by an experienced smoking friend. Perfect draw, beautiful overall cigar with flavor that was not overpowering. I smoked it 'til I could not longer hold it (and as my first "real" cigar it gave me a nice buzz).

"Woody smoky goodness!"
This great cigar is from a 2003 cab of 50. This was a pleasant experience. Beautiful at every stage from the wrapper to the easy draw. Its definitely a different woody type of flavor but very enjoyable.

"very good"
This one came from a 01 cab and was great. Nice even burn lots of smoke, perfect draw. Had a nutty vanilla taste for the first half then turned into a sweet fruity taste. Overall a very nice medium smoke.

"Different"
Smoked one of these with a little age, and it was both similar and different from the first, newer one I smoked.
The similarities: Perfect burn, great draw with lots of smoke, and a mild to medium body.
The differences: This one had a strong flavor of toasted nuts, along with some earthy flavors. Much different from the coffee tones I tasted in the newer one...gotta say that a little age makes these a lot better!

"Just gets better with age"
Just picked up a box from Dec 2000 & let me just say that 6 1/2 years have done nothing but great things for this cigar.
First off the presentation in the SLB of 25 is great, construction & burn were excellent, definitely on the milder side of medium, cedary with light spice, hints of a floral sweetness as well & the finish was spectacular. I've only smoked one thus far & I can only hope the other 24 are as wonderful as this one!

"Probably the best Cuban I've had thus far."
Got a cab with some age on it. Bottom line up front: refined and very complex smoke. Medium-Medium/Light strength, lots of flavor. Fantastic draw, beautiful finely veined wrapper, wonderful smell both prelight and once lit. To me I tasted dried flowers, cedar, and some coffee with a touch of cinnamon spice. My only problem was the uneven burn, but I just got the box and it probably came from the vendor "wet." Just an elegant high order smoke.

"One of the best Cubans I've tried"
A good cigar started with a nice presentation, and the bandless cabinet of 50 does this in spades. The wrapper is nice and smooth, apart from a single imperfection, and there were no large veins. The cigar had a very exotic woody flavour, punctuated by grass, spice, and floral notes. The strength increased gradually throughout the cigar, but there was not a great deal of flavour development. Even so, this is a great cigar; if you haven't tried this one, I recommend that you do so. If you only like strong cigars, this might not be for you, but for those who appreciate the subtlety of a milder cigar, this is a great choice

"A devine repasse."
Smoked a des Dieux from a 3 year old cab of 50 the other night, and this was absolutely one of the most flavorful, complex and well made cigars I have ever smoked. I've been smoking Cuban cigars for over ten years, this cigar is in my top 5. Strong woody-cedary notes with beans (vanilla & chocolate) saffron and aged leather. Don't miss this one.

"Flavor filled"
A very good medium bodied cigar that put out tons of smoke, burned straight and true and really had some interesting flavors. The last third really shined with coffee notes coming through like gangbusters. A good smoke to start the herf with as it is realtively light yet has some great taste.

"smoked a box"
A great smoke for times when you can't sit down and over analize the flavor profile. Not every smoke has to be epic. This one fills the need for a golfing or fishing smoke. After a year in the humidor this cigar changed, losing some the floral notes and gaining in cocoa. you don't know a cigar untill you've smoked an entire box!

"So-so"
It had a rough wrapper, lots of veins and tooth. The cap was well made and held up through the smoke after being punched. The charred cedary flavor was a plesant change of pace for me. It could have been more spicy. It had a modest peppery spice through most of the first half. For a breif time, I thought I tasted something floral. The second half was undistinguished while it maintained it's charry flavor. The draw was a bit tight but the burn remained fairly even.
