Hoyo de Monterrey (Cuba) Seleccion Robustos Hoyo de Mont.

I was gifted the Robusto selection box & enjoyed them all. After the Monte I enjoyed this the most. Nicely aged now & full of Hoyo flavours, perfect draw, burnt evenly without a problem, good to the last puff!

A beautiful cigar, best looking in the seleccion. A very firm draw, too firm. A mild smoke starting with strong floral and slight grass notes. Changing to odd damp earth notes. A bit unpleasant. A better draw could improve the flavor, maybe.

This is a fantastic cigar. I have had several of these (purchased 3 YEARS old in London). Each time I smoke one, my fingers get singed. The spongy feel of the stick is almost unearthly as you get to the half way point. Flavor becomes complex and layered. But, not eaery one of the sticks I've had is a solid draw, some have been very problematic and even vexing me to anger. A bit more quality control and this is the best cigar in my book.

This short smoke packed a heavy punch. This smoke had a very leathery taste, with a mild hint of exprsesso and cedar. Really enjoyed this smoke with a good friend. The construction and appearance were great, as the draw was plentiful, and filled the palate.
Would recommend this one, if you get the chance!
