Macanudo Cafe Hyde Park (M)

Rustic, dark looking wrapper. Lots of taste for a Mac. Not as smooth as a Mac. Typical Mac draw, construction and ash. All very good. They haven't quite got the taste right in my opinion.

OK I am not a Macanudo fan. Don't get me wrong, they are very well constructed and have a consistant flavor. By grip with them is they too weak and over priced. After all the cigar boom has died down and you can get great cigars at reasonable prices. Rece

Like others have said here, I've had great Macanudos and others not so much. By and large they're okay and I wouldn't turn one away. Its a good leathery smoke with roasted nuts notes that really hit the back of my palate. Not the greatest wrapper, but it had a brilliantly perfect cap and a good burn.

I got this from a manufacturer's rep, put it in the humi for six months and then smoked it. Draw was really tight and the taste was just bad. It tasted like a cheap cigar, and at an MSRP of over $5.00, the flavor was just horrid. I can best describe it as earthy and bland. Very one dimensional, and not worth it. Thumbs down on this.

I tried my second one of these on Saturday and felt as though it was a great maduro. FAR better than the one I had in October 2006. Then, I had another one this evening and it was more like the first one I had tried. Perhaps every other one is good? Just something to watch out for.

I don't mind that this was mild...it IS a macanudo of course, but a maduro needs spice! This was a fine cigar for a newb smoker, but nothing for the maduro smokers out there. A little too much hype for a simple Mac.

Expected a bit more after the hype I had heard and the price of the smoke. Easy draw, just didnt have the flavor I expected.

I was pleasantly surprised by this stick...I bought it on accident, as the non maduro Hyde Park made CAs Top 25. No matter...this was very smooth and offered just enough mocha and slight leather to massage the taste buds. Great construction...perfect burn....$5, too.

Got one of these in a three pack...smoked the regular Hyde Park Cafe first, and almost threw the other two away. Finally brought myself to try the maduro, and was really suprised. Not great, but average. Not quite priced like a everyday smoke, but its that quality. Smooth flavor, decent construction...just not outstanding.
