"Nice smoke"
I know that this is basically a M#4 and anyway i prefer the superior and more consistent Diplo#4 but i do believe that our Cuban friends choose to put a better cigar in the tubos.I say this because the petit tubo i tried from a(gift) box of five was -after the petit edmundo-one of the best montys smoked for a long time and much improved over the M#4's of the past. Good construction ,great wraper colour, drawing fine.Strong ,spicy and full flavoured i was not even expecting it.

"my first cuby experience"
and i have to say i absolutely loved this cigar. Since I smoked this I got a hold of a monty#2, but I have to say this tiny guy was much better than the petite lancero opusX I smoked recently. This was actually the first time I can confidently say I tasted fruity flavours in a cigar - black cherry to be exact, and it continued for at least half the smoke, so there was plenty of time to get a handle on it. I am not one to have gone out of my way for a cuby, as i felt there were too many great gars on us market. however, this smoke was spectacular in every way... construction was amazingly nice and the burn was razor sharp and perfect all the way through. I liked this better than the Punch and H Upmann tubos.

"For What It Is. . ."
This is a great smoke, for what it is.
People some times try to compare these to it's much larger cousins, it's apples & oranges. These are great little smokes, that keep well in your pocket if your traveling, on the go, or say at an event where smoking's frowned upon & you have to sneek off to enjoy a quick one (found this last one out at my cousins wedding).

Sometimes not much to look at, but nice full flavor, cedary & straight forward, even burn, I almost never have to relight these. Cost's more than a No. 4, but your paying for the tube.

"Often overlooked but worth looking"
I wonder why there are few reviews on this smoke it is odd considering the production number. Don't let this concern you this is superior smoke. I smoked a Cohiba Siglo II last night and there was no comparison IMHO. This cigar had a good draw the burn was great till the last third when it became less then razor sharp. No corrections require never needed a relight. Flavour was great it was full without being overpowering. It came with lots of nice cool smoke. Ash fell of about every quarter (I was outside). Ash was nice and dark gray. Overall a great smoke despite the price and high production numbers. Sad I only bought 7.

"What do you expect from tubes?"
I don’t like sticks from the tube, but sometimes, when you feel like a smoke and there’s no specialist outlets you find the petit tubos behind many bars and general tobacconist counter. They tend to cost more than you want to pay, their rarely as good as say a Monty No4 but they a reasonable looking little stick, like most tubed cigars they have slight burn problems which need touching up from time to time. The aroma is very nice and the flavour are great to start, but seem to disappear after the first third. If you have to smoke tubed sticks I’d take RyJ’s or H Upmans over Montys. They have many of the same problems, but their cheaper and have far more interesting flavour and aromas.

"Bad experence"
I was given 2 of these as a gift from my mother-in-law, she purchased them on vacation. I must say, both of the cigars were terrible. The first one had a uneven burn, tight draw, and problems staying lit. The flavor of the first one was poor at best. The second one had a tighter draw than the first stick, and mushroomed 1/4 of the way into it. The construction was bad, but on the flip side the flavor of the second cigar was great( when I could draw in smoke.) More than likely I just got a couple of bad sticks, but I still don't see the hype with a Cuban cigar. I'll take a good Dominican over these anytime.

"Average cigar for the $$"
I had a friend bring me a few of these sticks from a trip to London. Was actually looking forward to this cigar since I recently had a Cuban #2 and it was outstanding. The smell was great, typical of Cuban cigars, it had an easy draw, gave out lots of smoke. The flavor, however, was at best average, pretty straighforward, not a complex cigar. Light cedar and spice taste. I rather spend the money on a Padron 64.

"A quickie"
Went to the gym, came home and ate breakfast, then sat by the pool with this little stick...ah the life of a teacher on summer vacation! Anyway, this cigar is nicely constructed and had an easy draw. It burned evenly all the way to the band. The flavor was strong on cedar to start, but eventually evened out to cedar and spice. A very enjoyable smoke for early in the day. This was a gift, so I have no idea of the actual cost. If they can be found for a reasonable price, I will surely purchase a box for my humidor.

"Disappointed"
Hadn't had one of these in a while and was looking forward to them, they used to be fabulous. But now I've had a couple and am disappointed with the flavour; it was like a cheap Dutch imitation of the real thing. Of the two I've smoked recently, one came direct from Cuba, the other bought locally, same result with both. I'll give these another try and if it doesn't come up to standard, I'll stick with the wonderful Bolivar tubos for now.
