Vintage (est. 1970) Overpriced dog!!! The 30 years of age may have perfumed this one. Flavors and taste were almost nonexistent. Had a nice aroma but not much else.

"Pretty good"
I found this smoke to be pretty good but not strong at all. Infact it was to mild for my taste. It have very good construction and a nice ash with good to very good flavor, it just didn't have the ummph I like in a smoke. It was very very smooth though, and I did like it. But, for the price there's a lot of smokes I would buy before this one again.

"Age makes the difference!"
I was lucky enough to be gifted an example of this cigar from the 70's. It was easliy the best cigar I have smoked in 2008, and would rank right up there for '07 as well. The wrapper had darkened significantly, and the cap appeared almost maduro in color. Yet the wrapper felt silky smooth, cut nicely, and the cigar burned perfect without a single touch-up. Immediately I was taken aback by the power this cigar still had after 30+ years, and the flavors were outstanding. Spice, earth, cedar and black coffee came through as flavors. The cigar drew so perfectly I had to be sure to not puff to hard. First cigar in a while I allowed to burn my fingertips. Just an outstanding example of what happens to a great cigar when it is stored properly and aged to perfection.

"Average Monty!"
This nice looking cigar was smoked on my son's B-Day. It received its fair share of reviews. Mostly were good. Most of the cigar was mild and tasty but couldn't nub it. This cigar would be better tasting with some port.

"not bad but overhyped"
it definately had more complexity than the DR montis no 2 that I have but to say they werent worth the $11 and the 100 mi drive to mexico. sure it was good however I have had better legal smokes. however the tubo is prety and the flavors were well cuban... it didnt have the nicotine punch that others are known for but this would make a great gife for no other reason then the tubo that says havana on it. It had nice white ash, all around good medium.

"A decent smoke"
This cigar was nice to look at. Its flavor was a bit nutty and had that earthy, almost soily aftertaste, which was actually quite enjoyable. The draw was extremely smooth and the aroma was very nice as well. About half way through it began to tunnel and I really had to tug at it...a complete disappointment. After a brief battle I put her out.
My experience with the Monte is that they usually smoke very nice and I was actually in the company of a few others who didn't experience this problem and If I hadn't I would have enjoyed it for what it was.... a decent smooth, mild, smoke.
I'd rather smoke a Rafael Gonzales Lonsdale...same idea...much better experience

"solid smoke"
It has a nice slow burn, with a smooth draw with a mild flavor. You can smoke it almost up to the ring, before the nasty nicotine taste, takes over. Overall a decent smoke, but nothing to get real excited over.

"nice lonsdale"
Nice mix of flavors, a little pepper, a little wood. Might be a little too much in a larger ring size.
