"Worth the time...."
After sitting in my humidor for 2 years the time came to smoke one and WOW! Did it age well. Oil oozed from where the cedar band had been left on and once it was lit, I know I was in for a great smoke. There was no doubt this was a special Opus from the peppery start to the heavy mellow floral aroma, this was a full cigar. Great construction, was among the best, even the band was one of the best I've seen. Top Notch blend. It will be hard to beat any time soon. If you can get one do it. One small draw back was it had to be slightly touched up twice.

"wow"
I'm not one to hand out 10s, but this cigar is the best I've had in many months (ISOMs included). I bought 2 DVD sets (4 cigars), removed them from the glass and let them rest in the humidor for ~18 months. Couldn't wait any longer and decided to torch one. The wrapper seemed less rosado than classic Opies, looks more like those used on the Ashton ESGs (nothing wrong with that). Love the blackened Opus wrapper too. It was indeed complex, as previous reviewers stated. The flavor immediately reminded me of the Casa Fuente line, a noticable tangy, tartness on the front of the pallet. There is a hint of that hard to describe, distinctive, pungeunt Opus flavor that some disdain, but I had to look for it because that Opus label kept staring back at me. Not easy to find, and equally as difficult to pay for, but a really, really nice blend, - hats off to the Fuentes!

"Great cigar"
I bought a couple of the DVD sets, 4 cigars total (2 to smoke now, 2 to save for later). As a man who has never really enjoyed the OpusX too much in the past, I wanted to see if this one has more to offer. Well it did. The construction is great as usual, the wrapper is awesome and the packaging that others should use. Tons of smoke, and great complex flavors, something I haven't gotten from previous regular OpusX in the past, I was a little disapointed that it got somewhat harsh at the end, but all in all it was a great experience. I still prefer the Padron 1926 #1 Maduro, but these are definetly in my top 5 favorite cigars. If you are lucky enough to get these babies, they are worth the money, worst case scenario they make an excellent converstaion piece. I don't know if I will ever watch the DVDs but thats not why I bought them.

"Absolutely Amazing!!!"
I received the Fuente Fuente Opus X Forbidden X Platinum Edition DVD set as a gift. It came in a beautiful box that included 2 Forbidden X cigars and the 2 Documentaries on the Fuente Family on DVD. Right when I opened the box it was love at first sight. The cigar had a flawless Rosado wrapper that left a waxy-oily film on my fingers. The construction of the cigar was impeccable, typical of a cigar that was worthy enough to carry the Opus X name. The cigar was fairly easy to start with a spicy flavor. About a quarter ways through the cigar, the spiciness backed off and a floral, almost fruity aroma kicked in. The cigar finished off with a delightful sweet honey-chocolate flavor. Like many full-bodied cigars, this one packed a mean punch. If you thought the regular production Opus X were great… these Forbidden X’s are to die for. The cigar was Complex, Smooth, and Refined. Only 10,000 were made so you better get yours quickly.
