It was a marvoulus smoke, if you can get your hands on a box I would recommend it. Thought it is only avalible on the east coast, you can buy two of them at a time so get them when you can.

"Pretty Good"
My Third review and still very novice so please take this review with a grain of salt.
Perfect burn, perfect draw, and plenty of smoke. For the price I paid I was hoping for a little more, but it makes my top 3 with the Padron 64 and Excalibur No. 1.
I smoked it faster then I normally would because it is crazy cold outside.
It never got bitter, but I think my personal taste wants something more sweet or flavored at this point. All in all VERY glad I tried this and would recommend to others.

I loved this cigar! Took almost 2 hrs. to polish it off. The draw and burn were excellent the whole time. Flavor was great, leather, wood, and never lacking. I can't think of a better cigar that I have ever smoked. EXCELLENT!! I only wish we could buy them cheaper.

"Perfect Daily Smoker :-)"
The great thing about Fuente's premium smokes is that you absolutely know what you're going to get. The blends are so consistent, the construction perfect, the experience of smoking one so relaxing. The Opus X is the height of this experience. As I smoke it want to bottle the smoke. If I could eat it I would. What is a fine meal worth to your soul, a fine wine, a beautiful sunset. The Opus X is all of those every time. Every day should be an Opus X day. Buy one at retail and the value is a 10 also! Saying this cigar isn't a 10 on value for $10, is like saying a gourmet meal should cost the same as a #4 on the fast food menu. Perfect on all counts. A great way to punctuate any moment in your life.

"arse kicker"
Handsome handsome cigar and packed like a rock but smokes like a charm. Prelight aroma is second to none. Initial flavor was slightly floral with that signature flavor. Towards the second third of the cigar, the power takes over and reminds you that its an opus x. If you survive, you're in for a treat as you pass halfway with the natural flavor of tobacco coming through for a tasty smoke. Last third stays strong, leaving more finesse to be desired.

"First Opus"
Had This cigar for about 8 months. It was definitely worth the try, I caught nuances in the cigar that would not be found in probably any other cigar of this strength-origin. Not as complex as I would have hoped but definitely an interesting flavor none the less (mostly a sweetish spice (Dominican essence)). The strength came in slow and steady, and left me in a cold sweat at the end. I have a fresh Super Belicoso to try in the future.

"Not at all impressed"
I purchased a friend as well as myself one for his birthday. We sat down thinking this would be one of the best. Prior to lighting, this cigar is very pleasing to the eyes. Nice wrapper and nicely made. After lighting i had problems from the beginning, burning very uneven. It needed to be relit 3 times. It produced lots of smoke, which had a nice aroma. I was dissapointed in the flavor. I was thinking this one would produce a bit more taste then it did. One thing i did notice is this one did give my buddy and I that "buzzed" feeling a few others noticed. Also, this had a good 20-30 min finish. For what i paid, i would say these are a bit overpriced and over hyped.

"Not The Bang I Was Hoping For"
I really expected this to be one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. I was amazed at how mediocre this cigar was. It was very mild and un-eventful. It looked great, had good construction, smelled great, but it just didn't do it for me. I might try one of the other Opus X cigars, but I think i'm done with this one.

Always a good smoke. Probably would not be in quite so much demand if there were not a chronic shortage of them, hyped to the max. Nevertheless a good cigar; smooth, full bodied, bursting with flavor. Despite this I can seldom keep from buying whatever there is to be snapped up.

good smoke. Spicy at first, but mellowed ut at 1 inch. The first time I smoked one of these it knocked me on my ass. This time I felt a buzz but don't know if its the cigar or the tall glass of Walker Blue label I just killed. Went out and ash was gray and flaky.

"What is the hype?"
I have only smoked the Coronas and plan to pick up a bigger brother in hopes of a better experience. This is a full bodied cigar, which gave me that same buzzy feeling of the Padron 64 with a different flavor. I do not think it is worth it. For the same money I could have a real Cuban. However, this smoke esudes class! I will go out tomorrow to pick up a bigger version and give it a spin.

The flavor on this stick was nowhere near as eventful as I was hoping for. It had some spice, but not a ton....I think some of the cheaper fuentes had more flavor. This a Great cigar, but it can cost more than it's worth. One might find it sometimes and at differant times of the year @11 os 12 bucks with a 2 stick per sale! I found a sale 29.30 but a 4 stick limit! I kept going back till I had the whole box. Thats 8 days in a row.
These will rest in my humi for a year or so!
The first one I smoked was the best strong cigar I had ever had! Life is short try one of these!

ok ok, the label is sweet looking. I give it that. BUT the only set back I had with this cigar was...
1) uneven burn-- for 15 bucks you can get it to burn evenly.
2) half stick finish--yeah i said it...half way through this...it went out and would NOT relight to save its life.
my opnion...grab an arturo fuente and shut up about the "wonderfulness of the opus"

"This one Floored me !"
My first ever Opus X and it was worth the wait. Aged this cigar about another 10 months after receiving it from a friend. Excellent construction and scent before lighting. Burnt fairly well with a dark grey ash. Change in tastes from some spice at the beginning to smooth mid way and ending strong. The last half is where this became very much like a Cuban, and lived up to the brand hype. Had to sit for awhile afterward and really catch my breath. I real power house of a smoke.

"Just awesome..."
Great looking cigar, with an easy draw. A stronger odor than many NCs, it looked like a winner. A quick correction was needed right off the get-go, but that was the only one I would make. Tons of smoke, which started out a bit spicy but turned more creamy with a hint of sweetness I can't put my finger on. It is NOTHING like I expected, much less potent than I had read early on. Not a speck of ash falls off in the first third. The cigar seems to change every couple of draws, from a pleasant pepper on one draw to that creamy, very slightly sweet draws after that. The cigar is just delicous, and I was anticipating not liking it from all I had read. I still can't accurately describe the sweet creamy flavor, but the closest I can come is...butterscotch? The ash doesn't fall off until the smoke is over half done. I am starting to get a little euphoric nicotine buzz as well, nothing unpleasant though, The same swing between the two flavors goes on....the spicy pepper is not too spicy, very nice like the LAdC pepper....the sweetness is not too sweet, just a hint as I release. Do feel that buzz when I stand up though.... was extremely suprised, pleasantly, by this cigar. At the price, I can't smoke them all the the time, but I can see putting a few of these in the humi for special nights...Definitely one of the best NCs I have had...actually, one of the best cigars period. I am now a believer.

"Best Opus in 5 Years"
This Fuente Fuente came from the most recent release of Opus. The construction on this cigar was perfect with a flawless oily Colorado wrapper. The pre-light aroma was unreal with scents of raisins, brown sugar and sweet spicy tobacco. The flavors on this stick were unreal one of the most complex Opus I have smoked. The sweet tobacco spice gave way to flavors of raisins, plums, with creamy tangy overtones at times. The last half turned into a black pepper spice with almost a dried fruit and had raspberry flavors to it. The tobacco used for this cigar was very well aged and I never got that raw sometimes overpowering character associated with fresh opus. This cigar was smooth and refined all the way through and easily was the best regular release Opus X I have had in the last 5 years.

"Excellent but spendy"
Spendy, but you already knew that.
This is a powerhouse of a cigar. Very full flavored, buckle up and hold on, full of pepper and spice. The wrapper is gorgeous, and it was extremely well constructed. The best construction I have every seen, burned even, and the draw was great. It required very little effort, but was never too easy. Flavor progressed throughout the smoke.
I would buy these again, even at this price for special occasions. Durned CA taxes prevent these from being something to smoke more frequently.

"Too $$ but a nice smoke..."
Very pretty cigar, top construction, burned razor sharp, draw was excellent, V. light gray ash. Taste was nice, complex for a Dominican, and not grassy. At $8-9 bucks a stick this would be a great deal, but the people charging 30 bucks for this stick should be arrested.

"It's in the marketing"
Pretty band. Pretty cigar. But worth the $15.00 that I paid for it? Not really. This cigar is certainly the best of the Fuente products. Very well built. Very good burning. But the taste was so-so. Not bad by any means, but not much better than many $5.00 cigars that I have smoked. If I could get these for five bucks, they would be all that I would smoke. But for the price, the La Aurora and Hemmingway cigars do more for me.

"Good, but over hyped"
Don't get me wrong, this was an excellent cigar with lots a pepper and spice. It's also a little hard to find outside Vegas, and a lot more expensive than some of my other favorites. This is a very powerful cigar, almost as strong as a 100% ligero stick, and even made me a little light headed. I don't recommend this one to the beginner, but then again what beginner would pay $20+ for a cigar. I'll put a few of these away for special occasions, but this one's not going to be my every day smoke.

"Status Symbol"
From all the hype I would have expected more but I was not totally disappointed. This is a very nice cigar. Extremely strong so maybe that's what you're paying for. The appearance and construction were flawless. The draw was nice and even and the ash was a solid silvery white. Flavor was consistent throughout. Somewhat of a peppery and leathery taste. Definately a very pleasant experience especially if you don't have to pay for it!

"Don't complain about the price"
I was prejudice against this cigar when I purchased a box, because everyone complains about the price. I believe my point reviews will pronounce my final judgment. If you want to by a good wine expect to pay $20. If you want an excellent wine, $85 and up, why??; Supply and Demand. The review: Beautiful burn with an almost snow-like ash. Construction is of true quality throughout. Beautiful and complex nose and taste with hints of pepper, allspice, vanilla and nutmeg. There are notes of a merlot in this beauty as well. This cigar is like a beautiful woman; it becomes more complex the longer you know her. If I could I would love to see a sweet black wrapper around one of these.

"Another Fine Opus X"
Another reviewer aptly pointed out that in order to enjoy an Opus X you really must prepare yourself for the smoke. Unlike other cigars I've smoked while on my riding lawn mower or walking around the deck, an Opus X must be smoked like one should drink wine - slowly savoring the flavors as they play games on your toungue. To smoke these cigars any other way is both a waste of money and of an otherwise good smoke! With this as our starting point, on to appearance - I sound like a broken record, but hands down - this IS the best looking cigar I've seen. The construction -I also noticed that this cigar did not burn as evenly as other cigars in this price range - however, the burn was not that uneven - towards the end the cigar righted itself. This as weighed against the superb draw and 55 minute smoke time without having to re-light permit me to rate it an 8 for construction. The flavor was rich, but creamy - not as powerful as larger ring sizes, but full of the same wonderful flavors and aromas I've come to enjoy and expect from an Opus X - coffee, toast, Earl Grey with cream. This size was perfect for a late night smoke where you don't want your head reeling for hours. Value - this is a bit of a unique category. I've noticed many people use the amount spent as an indication of a rating here. While this is a starting point for determining value, it must first be combined with your overall experience and then weighed against other cigars that cost more and less in order to fairly rate this category (my opinion, of course). I feel that if the cigar was excellent, then the only way the money should hurt the rating is if there are other cigars at this price that are far better. I don't feel that you will find many other cigars below $13 that are far better. No doubt, you will find some. I can comfortably say that this cigar is among the finest - not THE best, but certainly among the finest - If I paid more than $13, my rating would certainly change. Overall, an excellent smoke - my initial concerns over the ring gauge were quickly burned away.

"Very Good Cigar, Not the Best Ever"
I had two of these yesterday at the casino. Very good cigar, but not as much flavor, probably due to the smaller ring guage. I had a burn problem with one the entire time I was smoking it, too. Very good appearance, although not as great as other Opus X. In my opinion, go for the Robusto, as it is just slightly more expensive.

"Not all Hype"
I was sure that when I smoked my first I would be very critical in light of all the hype this cigar has had. During the smoke I noticed an absolutely perfect burn, and flavor that would rival the best. Although I was pleased that it wasn't all hype, I do not like the value of this smoke. The new Bolivar Fuerte is much more affordable and flavorful.

"Expensive, bad burn"
Smoked 3 off these and all 3 would not burn well, had problems would not stay lit. when they did burn and draw well, which wasn't very long or very often they were tasty and on the strong side. I started to chalk these up to just a bad box but the last one was from a different box and aged for 3 mos in my humidor.
