"A very enjoyable smoke"
Cedar start with a spicy finish, this very enjoyable smoke was flawed only by requiring a few minor touch ups. The Rare Estate Reserve 1992 and Super Belicoso and still my favorites in this line.

"How Do You Not Fall In Love With Perecxion?"
This is probably the best cigar (Cuban included) that I have ever laid my tar soaked hands on. Perfect construction, draw and most of all flavor. Really comes alive about 1/2 way down becoming more creamy with pepper notes and subtle sweetness on the lips. One of only 2 cigars I have ever used a TOOTHPICK to savor every last centimeter of stick.
Do yourself a favor and grab as many of these as you can...life is too short not to enjoy these as often as possible!

"One of the Best When Aged Correctly"
After having burned many Opus in many sizes, I have finally gotten around to reviewing (been too busy smoking Tats: LONG LIVE PEPIN!!!). I feel my love/ hate relationship with this stick happened by not fully understanding the absolute necessity for allowing for humi time. Out of the box, with the exception of the #4 and#5, they are OK, but not deserving of the hype. When aged correctly, they belong with the best of the best. Tonight I burned PX with 3 years on it, and it was fully deserving. Construction and burn were top notch (kept at 65% humidity which seems to better the aging process and burn). Aroma and flavor were ever changing between black/white pepper, wood, leather, and subtle changes to cocoa/coffee, picking up NIC puro profile towards the end. Strength was typical powerful, but subtle, never harsh and allowing this stick to really open up. Nubbed it. My best advice is to never judge this stick right out of your local B & M. Put it down and allow it the time it needs to become what it is (Opus without aging have a tendency to show a bitter/sour side, especially in larger rings). Many aging in my humi with 2-3 years. Only drawback is that, for the price, they should not need this much time down.

"Opus gone Sour?"
I've had a bunch of these and they've all been pretty good. The double corona is by far the best. Lots of chocolate taste. However, this one tasted extremely sour. I could barely taste anything else. I dont know why...Any suggestions/experiences?

"Best Cigar Period!"
This is hands down the best cigar on the market today! The ONLY drawback with the Opus X is that greenhorns tend to have burn issues due to the fact that 1.) it has two binders, and 2.) Lighting a cigar is an art form. Most people don't know how to properly light a cigar.

"should be much better"
I was gifted this cigar for Christmas, and I've been looking forward to smoking it. I wish I hadn't had such high expectations. I had burn issues the entire smoke. Had to re-light twice. The flavor was only so-so. At least I didn't pay for it. This cigar goes for about $20 around here.

"Top notch, dominican at its best"
This remains one of my favorite smokes. Construction on these babies is top notch, with a luscious draw and tons of smoke. Great flavors of leather, coffee. Good spice. Very full bodied, with a guaranteed buzz every time I smoke one (and I smoke 2-3 cigars per day). Burn can be a bit of an issue on these cigars. I've smoked maybe 30 of these, out of which maybe 10 burned poorly. No biggie, light up the torch and even it out. Grab a few if you can, but don't pay 30$ per stick as some tobacconists try to charge for these. As one reviewer before me states, let these sit for a while before smoking or they might be a bit harsh. First class all the way

"Condition, contition, condition!!!!!"
This was easily one of my top 5 cigars of all time. I let it sit in my humidor for a few weeks until it was perfectly conditioned. It's condition was leathery, supple, slightly moist with hints of coffee, cinnamon and pepper. The draw and construction was spot on. As the name states, for me it was sheer "Prefecxion". My advice to anyone purchasing one, make sure it's conditioned properly before you smoke it or you're wasting your money.

"Not quite up to its reputation"
Yes, this is a good smoke but at the price, no it is not one of the best ever. The burn is too heavily packed.

"Not Worth the $$"
Had to really doctor this cigar throughout the entire smoke. Burn was uneven and went out several times. Flavor was just so/so. I really wanted this to be a treat, but ended up wishing I wouldn't have spent $14 on it.

"I must be dumb or something...."
I don't know. Maybe I'm not in step with all the aficiondos. For all the hype, I expected to be blown away. I was disappointed to say the least. Maybe it's just the crop or the box mine came in. I was all excited when I came across these because of the buzz they get. I got two of these and a robusto. I'll keep the robusto for some day. The other one of these I'll probably give to a buddy.

"Excellent- but too many relights"
Had problems with this tasty Opus X going out after just a few puffs and this continued through the first 2 thirds of the cigar. The final 3rd was flawless in taste and stayed lit. I like Opus alot, but this size has had repeated burn problems of late. Happens with other sizes too but I have always had excellent luck with the hard to find Petit Lancero.

"SORRY FOLKS ... I JUST DON'T GET IT"
Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad cigar. But it isn't nearly as great as all the hype. Perhaps they have the same mystique as Cuban cigars, the lack of availability. Do NOT pay more than suggested retail, and they are barely worth that. They are not nearly worth the 20-30 dollar price for a single cigar, which many web sites are asking. For those who have never smoked one, you are not missing anything out of the ordinary. There were problems with the wrapper, which unraveled a bit after I smoked about a quarter of the way down. I would not expect this from a Fuente cigar. It lacks any type of complexity of flavor. A dull straight-forward tobacco taste, with cedar traits, which may be from the cedar wrap it comes in. I have had better cigars at a fraction of the price, and I paid retail. I have about 30 singles, which I purchased at retail, and acquired through various trades, before realizing that they are no big "shmeal." I would not hesitate to sell, trade, or give some to friends. Considering all the hype, a major disappointment.

"Gift from my Wife"
My wife asked a buddy from work, to pick these up for me. When he gave them to her, he also gave her an empty box from a cheap liquor store brand to put them in. He told her to watch my expression, as I opened the package and tried to look thankful for a gift of terrible smokes. To make a long story short, once I opened the box, and those wonderful Opus X bands and cedar sleeves triggered an instant feeling of joy. There is no real need to discuss how these sticks taste, we all know they are excellent. The draw was as easy as a well packed pipe, and the burn was flawless. I've enjoyed every puff that I have taken from these cigars and look forward to smoking the rest of them on special occasions in the future.

"Expensive, but it delivers"
A cedar sleeve partially covers the always beautiful reddish-brown wrapper. The draw is perfect and produces an enormous amount of aromatic smoke; the burn is farly even but I had to relight a few times after ashing, which was a surprise. The initial spiciness seems overwhelming, but it's balanced by cedary flavors at first and then earthy and coffee flavors later. Complex and full-bodied with a long, long finish. Too pricey to smoke all the time, but definitely a great smoke.

"Pricey but good"
The Fuente's make a lot of money on the gimmick that they only release these quarterly. It's a good smoke, very smooth, medium bodied, cedary, they age very well, good celebration cigar, but there are others out there just as good and cheaper.

What a complete spice bomb. From the wonderful wrapper smell to the pre-light draw and the entire smoke, smooth, wonderful spicy taste. At MSRP these are as good as anything else out there.

"Not enough bang for the buck"
I personally like most of the Fuentes. This stick, with over two years on it in the old humi, is in my opinion, not their best work. An interesting stick, full, mellow bodies of smoke to wrap around your palate. I'll take a Don Carlos over these any day of the week. Not worth all the hoopla, least of which is the cost!

"lives up to its name, price dependent"
Opus X are the best on the market, perfexcion #2 being the best. They fall victim to their own hype, rarity, and price mark ups. Forces the smoker to wonder if the Cuban market is overrated due to the legal aspects.

"far from cuban"
I dont know whom is rating this cigar so high but try taking the label off of one giving it to a friend and tell them you got it from a bundel they will tell you its ok but not worth more than about 5 dollars a stick, the VSG is a much better smoke for much cheaper

"Amazing, but pricey, smoke"
Like all Opus X they are amazing smokes, but you pay a lot for the novelty. I smoked one at a local cigar bar on my graduation day and that helped jack the price up even more, but hell, it was graduation and one of the best smoked I've ever had.

"Smoked 3 - Superb Opus flavor w/ kick"
This was among the more "peppery" opus X I've smoked. All three were true to Opus X flavor, rich, thick smoke, nice draw - definitely strong. Enjoying a cigar is so subjective - however, if a full flavored, long smoke is something you enjoy, you can not go wrong here. Take your time with these - they will knock you on your -ss!

"One of the Best"
Arguably as good and better than most Cuban's. This Powerhouse lives up to it's hype. Truly a great smoke! Full flavored & Bodied..and then some. Was able to luckily find these gems at a local Cigar shop (2 limit max), and I wish I could buy the box. This cigar definitely worthy in the Humidor Hall of Fame.

"Almost a Cuban, but..."
Beautiful cigar, shiny and well made. Even burn, with -very- complex flavor, hard to put names to, but there's a -lot- going on there. Its very very good! I would say 'good all the way to the band', but the band is pretty w-i-d-e, and pretty far up this short cigar. I took the band off, but (like all Fuentes) not as good in the short half, and it kept going out. Overall, half a great cigar. I let the short half drag the rating down, the first half is a 10 - but I'd still rather have a Monte #2.
