Wow. First PAM and it was amazin. Great construction except for a sloppy cap. Burned straight as a razor and gave off lots of smoke. The flavor is where it excelled. It was coffee/cocoa with a touch of spice. Paired well with the coffee I was drinking. This is the best NC I have ever smoked. You get what you pay for and this Padron delivered.

Most of my time spent with these PAM 64's have been pleasant. However, I had some draw problems for the first 1/3. After that it opened up and gave me the notes that make Padron famous. I especially like this size. They are pricey and I expect better draws from such sticks. Regardless, I won''t let one bad apple ruin the bunch!

"A great cigar, below 7.5 - no way"
Any one who rates this cigar below a 7.5 either received a counterfeit or is reviewing on price alone. This is a great cigar. Even my uneducated palette knows a cigar that is above the crowd. I wish the price was lower, but every other aspect of this is cigar is top notch. The taste it left in my mouth was very pleasant. It smoked evenly. I'm not sure what the people who rated this cigar low were looking for, but their expectations must have been built up by someone. I smoked this on a recommendation from my local cigar store and was totally impressed. This cigar is a treat.

My first cigar I ever smoked was this beauty, and 10 years later I am still in love. The maduro wrapper is more complex than the natural, and is what I prefer.
Contstruction is always perfect, draw as well. The cigar has a hint of sandalwood, cocoa, and a spciy draw at times which all together well. Try this cigar out, the ideal size too.

"Very Good"
This was my first Padron '64 and I was impressed with it over all. Beautiful wrapper, only a few bumps prevented this one from being a 10. I lit up and at first the cigar was a little harsh, I could feel it on the back of my throat. The burn was a little uneven as well. I was thinking "All that money for this?". I purged the smoke and ashed and thats when the cigar recovered. It was a very complex cigar. I tasted mostly coffee and nut flavors with a hint of woodiness. Every draw was a little different, had some earthiness some, even a few draw had a little floral taste which surprised me. Smoked it to the nub and lasted me around an hour and 45 minutes. A tad expensive but I'd like to come back to it when I'm better at picking out flavors, maybe in a couple months.

"Another Excellent '64"
I bought a box of these & the Maduro Torpedos. I find these aren't quite as bold as the Torps, but excellent none the less.
Presentation & aroma are excellent, and as for smoking, bold flavors of cedar, cocoa, wood & spices, you just can't go wrong.

With these priced at around $10 it's a steel. Just watch how fast these fly off the shelves when the shops get them in! There are plenty worse out there for $20 or more.

"Much better than the natural"
Although aged for 1-2yrs alongside other super-premiums, the maduro version didn't suffer from the same severe drop in flavor. It was toasty and cocoa with a bit of Nicaraguan earthiness, but nowhere near as overbearing as the natural. Occasional bits of leathery tobacco ligero came through, and though lacking a bit of depth it was clean and tasty to the nub. I think I still like the Principe Maduro better though...

"Awesome. Always."
What the heck, it's a special occasion (day one of the NCAA tourney)! The complexity of this stick is rivaled only by the Boli RC and Opus, and the duration of finish eclipses both. This one was as good as any PAM I've had, despite needing a couple of touchups. Coffee grounds and leather, with dark chocolate and licorice building in steadily. In defense of the value, you know exactly what you're going to get when you plunk down your money, and it's a flavor you just can't approximate anywhere else.

I read the occasional negative review about any cigar that Padron makes and wonder if people are getting fakes or they just don't know a good cigar from an ordinary one. I suspect the latter. "expected a lil more"
Very nice looking cigar. Nice dark wrapper. Construction was fantastic. Nice draw and perfect burn. Produced plenty of smoke. This cigar was very smooth. Didn't have any harshness or bitterness but also didnt knock me off my feet with flavor either. Like i said, it was just smooth. Not spice or pepper in this smoke like i was waiting for. I wouldnt even call it medium. Not a bad smoke, just wasnt what i was hoping for with all the hype. I have to say i did enjoy it overall, just wanted more. I have to say i like the perdomo esv91, ashton vsg, avo domain, and la aurora 100 anos all more then this one. Maybe the other sizes will be a lil better.

The El Rey Del Mundo that I had yesterday was better than this at a fraction of the price. The construction was fine, but not great and the flavors were one dimensional and flat. There was enough smoothness to smoke this one to the end, but I did not choose to do so.

"What's in your wallet?"
I picked one of these up while in Miami a month ago and have been looking at it in my humidor, waiting for the right time. Today was that time and I broke it out and gave it a try.

The cigar is very nice looking. The prelight is nothing special, but the 10$ I paid makes me anticipate this one. Once lit, the smoke was strong and the flavor basic, but pretty good. I think I have had 5 dollar cigars that were just as good or better, but this was not a dissapointment for me.

This is a very good cigar, don't get me wrong, but not the best I've had. Padron is top notch for smoothness and construction, but this smoke just didn't have the complexity I was looking for. The first half was abundant with taste, the second half sort of died off and became one-dimensional. These are starting to get a little pricey for what they deliver, which is very good, but not great.

I find this cigar to be quite well built and it carries about as much hype as any cigar on the market that is not a Cuban. It is not going to make you better looking or rich or even more intelligent, but it will give you a good hour of smoking happiness. I managed 5 from c-bid for about 13.20 bucks each (not 20 bucks for all five like I mistakenly put previously)...at that price they are a good deal, but don't smoke them often. Ok, now that I got the price finally correct, I will move on to other cigars.

"Great Cigar - Predictible Padron Flavor"
I love these cigars. As a cigar family, Padron is among the best. While I will do nothing to tarnish the well deserved high marks for this cigar, I would be remiss if I didn't challenge a few aspects of this great smoke. The construction is incredible as is the appearance. Only Fuente Opus X pays more attention to the beauty and appearance of their cigars. Yet for flavor, I must admit this is not my favorite cigar - taking nothing from the greatness of the cigar, it just isn't my favorite flavor (I prefer a 1926 natrual). I felt the flavor on the three or so boxes I smoked in the past six years have been predictible and nice, but no real suprises. This said, I don't expect as much from shorter sticks. The flavor is a constant pleasure without a great deal of dancing around from this to that. Value is exceptional at just over $250 a box ($10/stick).

"Padron my drool"
I am typically a cheapskate when it comes to cigars. I've prided myself at finding high quality cigars for under 3 bucks, and I kick and scream when paying more than 5. However, I paid the full 8.50 for this one (Im told this was a steal) and I have to say, it was worth every penny! The perfect burn, aroma and creamy flavors you would expect in a dream cigar. Well wake up! Here it is! It will be difficult to smoke my "bargain" cigars after this. It is like going back to a 19" b/w TV after trying out a 57" Toshiba with HDTV and surround for a month. "Agree with these ratings"
I had to try one of these based on the ratings on this site and others. This is a great smoke. The square pressed construction was nice, the wrapper was flawless. The burn was excellent, with a nice tight ash. The taste was smooth, very creamy, flavours of cacao and slight spice, mild leather tastes, not as leathery as the 1000's series. Overall very balanced flavors. I could see why the price is what it is. If you can't get real Cubans at a decent price, this Padron should be your next choice.

This is a very good looking smoke with a nice box press and oily dark wrapper. The cap cut with nicely and the pre lit draw had hints of earth and a little spice. The foot lit even and held a nice dark ash that burned even all the way to the nub. The taste was medium to full with notes of cedar and some nutty leather hints with a hint of pepper. The bodie became fuller on the last half with lots of tobacco and earth, just a lovely smoke.

"This one is in my Top 10"
I have tried a lot of smokes, from $3 Gisperts all the way up to $21 Padron 1926 Anniversarys and the 1964 Exclusivo Maduro is in my Top 10. Granted the top spot is a Cuban and others are less expensive than this one, I still keep a couple of these around to enjoy when I have time to smoke the whole thing. The first thing you'll notice about these sticks is the construction; it's first-class, bested only by Davidoff and other top-tier smokes from Fuente and Ashton. Dispite the high price, you get more than meets the eye, as these are dense and slow burning; if you're not careful it will go out on you. It has a smooth maduro wrapper with nary a blemish in sight. Unlike some maduros, this one doesn't have a shine to it, but the Padrons are known for making mild-to-medium bodied smokes, so the flavor here is more of a sweet-and-smooth rather than the bold, spicy sweetness that you'll find in other maduros. These sticks burn great, producing a nice amount of sweet smoke and a bright white ash. In terms of flavor, this mild-to-medium bodied stick has hints of cocoa and a little coffee, with a slight hint of nuts and toast. The only downside to this smoke, in my humble opinion, is that the smoke leaves a slight dry feeling on your pallete, similar to that of red wine. It's not a bad thing, but it's not for everyone. The finish is also very short. When I pay top-dollar for smokes, I almost expect that great flavor to last for hours afterwards. Regardless of the shortcomings (which are really minor) I will say that this is a great smoke that few people would be disappointed with. Dispite the high price, I believe that these are superior in flavor and value when compared to the 1927 Anniversary edition. This smoke should appeal to just about every cigar smoker, regardless of body preference. It's mild enough that newbies and lighter smokers should enjoy it, yet it has enough body and flavor that all but the most hard-core should enjoy.

Sorry, but overall I was dissapointed. Got this for my birthday, and expected amazing things, and on some fronts, it delivered, excellent construction and appearance - very professional. Flavor was a little lacking, only thing I really noted was spice. Draw was too tight - which might explain the flavor problem (even after deeper cut). I would try again, but not for 13$. "More hype than substance..."
A good cigar by any measure, but definately not worthy of all the 9's and 10's its been given. It's a beautifully crafted cigar that feels wonderful in the hand, but it leaves something to be desired once lit. It starts off with a pleasant, toast-like flavor but never goes anywhere beyond that. In addition, some harsh, bitter flavors can eaisly be detected after the 1/3 point. The rough flavors never dominate the experience, but they never go away either. I've smoked two of these now, one down to the nub, and I won't be doing it again unless the price gest cut in half. From now on, I'll just buy two Padron 4000's (a much better smoke) for the same amount!

"Acclaim the golden crown of the world king!"
Laying in a deeply brightened white snow of pleasurable sensation, sorrounded by a flowerly garden that reeks of perfume-like aroma, as I chug down an extremly flavorful exotic Jamaican espresso. Where am I?
I am beyond the boundaries of this dimension, for I am in the world of Padron, enjoying it's warm and happy hospitality that no other brand can offer me.
I am home.....
This cigar, which had a snowy white ash accompany it the entire time, started off with a mellow beany-tangy-espresso like taste that accompanied my palette.
A few seconds later, it exploded into a frenzy of sophiscated tastes that reminded me of every single cigar I have had in my life. Later, it mellowed down into a rosy-like taste...which led me to believe that I was smoking flowers!
This cigar is by far the tastiest...it is an almost erotic experience to smoke this. See what I mean..buy one today

This is my second Padron 64 Anniversary cigar. I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said here. Just know this. I am somewhat of a "bargain" smoker. I like a good deal. In fact, some of my favorite cigars are under 5 bucks in price. Normally, an expensive cigar really has to be something special, in my opinion. This one is definitely something special. Superior in just about every way. Flawless. I have kicked myself in the ass several times for being suckered into a high priced cigar, then being disappointed. This time I think I'll pat myself on the back, twice even, since I decided to buy a handful of these.

"Believe The Hype!"
I just got a box of these from Duke City and decided to smoke one right away. This is yet another 1964 masterpiece. First of all, is there any other cigar on the market that has maintained such excellent quality in construction over a decade? The wrapper is a PERFECT box press, and the wrapper is seemless. (If you want a poor man's comparison get a Carlos Torano 1959 torpedo for about $6.00) Anyhow, this cigar produced two 2/12 inch ashes that burned to the exact shape of the cigar. Tonight in LA, it is quite windy. We all know what happens to a burn in windy conditions. Not with this cigar...Premo burn! The signature cocoa and chocolate flavors were present. Solid draw, and great finish. I gotta give this a 10....even at the price of $10.00 per stick, this is a great value. An experience that would otherwise cost you $20.00+ with other cigars.

After searching for quite some time, found a box of these in Connecticut and let them sit in the humidor for some time. After not being able to hold back any longer opened it up and we'll just say all the talk was definitely correct. "A fine cigar"
Well this is my first 64 and after reading all the hype I let this cigar rest a good 4 months in the humi first . Well the hype was right on the money, this is one fine and highly refined smoke. Perfect construction and burn, nice ash and great flavors of leather coffee and cocoa to mention a few. Very mellow and smooth. But to me it was not better than a aged Cohiba Esplandido. But a hell of smoke none the less, in this case you DO get what you paid for, I will be bying more.

"None Any Better"
I hated ever reading any reviews prior to torching any stick...Did not want to be bias one way or the other...Then came the 1964...Read all the hype, and found it was not hype...Unreal construction and box press, incredible razor sharp cool burn, complex flavors of coffee, cocoa, and leather, and a finish that leaves you wanting more, with no harshness at all. As good as any Cuban I have ever smoked, including the Cohiba Robusto and PSD4, but just about as hard to come by (I had to search high and low to locate 1964's ). If I can find boxes, these will ALWAYS be a mainstay in my humi.

"Believe the hype...."
I had smoked last summer a P64 Torpedo, and found it great. So, I bought a box of these directly at new Padron's HQ in Miami. I choose the darker ones, with those gorgeous dark and oliy maduro wrappers. First smoke, tonight, just after a few days in a new humidor. Despite these less than ideal conditions, I have to say that this cigar is excellent, lots of smoke, lots of flavours (with a dark chocolate overtone), very smooth and almost impeccable construction. A whisker spicy, from time to time, but I totally blame the unsufficient humidor time. I do believe that in 3 months this robusto will be even better, which is, after all, hard to fathom.....Who cares about value, with a cigar like this? Good job, Mr. Padron.

Been marching through the Anniversary line over the past couple of months. This is my fav. so far. Liked the 26 better than the 64 m imperial but this is just as good and lasts longer. For some reason I like the 50 ring gauge in Padrons over the larger sizes. Punched this one and smoked with a a buddy trying the line for first time. These are very refined smokes with a great flavor profile (I call it carmally). Nice.

"Second only to its more mature cousin"
After smoking my first 1964 maduro, I had to buy a box. Every cigar in the box (or any Padron, so far) was as good and consistent as the next. Great appearance, construction (perfect medium draw), flavor and as always consistent burn (an occasional re-light but never uneven). With great flavor and never bitter I have burned my fingers on every one. Take your time and enjoy this one. It may be in the more expensive category but worth it. If you find you like this cigar try its more mature cousin, the 1926 maduro No. 6. Aged for 5 years instead of 4 it’s even smoother and more flavorful, with all the same great qualities that come with a Padron.

"how sweet it is"
Wow! This is an expensive cigar (in Canada anyway). Thanks to our ludicrous tobacco taxes this stick ran me almost $50 CDN...but I had to see what all the hype was about. This little beauty did not disappoint. It started light but the flavour quickly bagan to build. The maduro wrapper gives it a mild sweetness and an ever increasing flavour of roasted almonds and pears. The burn was razor straight and produced a beautiful heavy white ash. An easy draw producing thick rich smoke. A true pleasure! Didn't want this one to end. I've had a lot of good Cubans and this baby can definitely hold it's own. I'll be sure to look for them next time I'm in the US.

"Awesome"
I just polished off a Padron Anniversario Exclusivo Maduro from a box I
found at Mike's Cigars during the LHCT II crawl. What
a rockin' cigar!

The wrapper looked a bit dry due to
the age, but the cigar was otherwise a beautiful maduro with the trademark
box press and a flawless cap (for a change.)

Wonderful spicy smoke with a perfect cedar infusion.
This cigar blew the taste meter off the scale with a solid rainbow of
flavors and a sumptuous finish that still lingers a half hour later.
Bravo!

A wee bit of softening at the end
distracted from an otherwise phenomenal burn. Razor straight and perfectly
paced, this cigar epitomized the pinnacle of the torcedor's art. The light
grey ash held tight until tapped and didn't make a mess.

Arguably the best cigar I've had in a year or
two, this example was a pleasure from start to finish. I'm glad there's
more than half a box left, and wonder how much longer these will be at
their peak.

"The best ever, period."
The Padron family of cigars are unquestionably the finest cigars available today. In three words CONSISTENT - CONSISTENT - CONSISTENT! These cigars are as beautiful, well constructed, and flavorful as they are an excellent value. I just picked up a box for $255 - a little over $10 a stick! $10 for arguably the finest maduro available in the world today. You can't beat that! This cigar burns nicely - even and cool - flavors range from creamed coffee to roasted nuts, but none of the flavors overpower you palate - they are subdued in such a way to tickle your tastebuds to the point of excitement without whelming your senses. I would go into more detail, but smoke one for yourself and without question, you will understand the ratings below.

Then hide your credit card and quit smoking because you can become a very poor but happy person smoking these. The favor is hard to properly put into words. "Not as Good as Expected"
Don't get me wrong, this is a great cigar as are all Anniversario Maduros. However, for the price, I feel each one should be absolutely perfect. This one burned a bit hot at times, unlike the Diplomatico. There was also an uneven burn, not impressive. If this cigar were half the price, I'd forgive the construction issues since the flavor is so good. But at this price, Padron should be delivering a cigar with no compromises whatsoever.

A wondeful cigar, but not as good as the Exclusivo in natural. I found the flavor to be somewhat milder than the natural version and a little "smokier" due to the maduro wrapper. Favors of cherry and vague hints of Cuban tobacco permeate this perfectly made cigar.
