Padron 1964 Anniversary Imperial (M)

You can tell that the cigar has been well aged. It's a 9 but a 10 if it didn't cost so much.

Although this big bad boy is a very fine cigar, I prefer the Diplomatico more. Padron just doesn't know how to make a bad cigar!

I hate to keep adding Padron Anniversario's to your list, but I must insist because this is an outstanding cigar. Outside of the Cuban realm, I don't believe there is any other cigar that is comparable. The Imperial has a wonderful flavor which includes

Beautiful dark chocolate wrapper free of veins. Nicely finished cap. Easy light. Great aroma. Perfect draw.

Solid full flavored smoke. Earthy, slightly spicy. Perfect burn with a white ash. A truly great cigar.

WOW WOW what a cigar TO SMOKE FULL OF white ash, smoked it to the nub. Better than some of the 1926 series. The smoke is full of spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, deep earth, a little bid of leather, sweet smoke taste, perfect draw. I will take this cigar over a Cuban any time, its worth every penny.

An Excellent Top Shelf Smoke ! A Quality smoke from start to finish. Consistent, Rich, Complex, Full Bodied Flavors. Sweet, chocolatey and nutty tastes at it's best. This stick rates among the finest !

A very one dimensional cigar, for the price i'd rather buy 3 cigars instead of this one.

Tried one last night, these are as good as always. Lots of smoke, lots of big-time flavor, perfect burn. Price is high, but the Padron Anny will get you high!

This is by far my favorite cigar out there, its very flavorful the construction is amazing and it burns well. for someone to compare this cigar to rocky patel, they either did not smoke a real 1964 or they just have no idea about cigars.

Although the price is extreme and there are many others for half the price I would rather smoke, this is a great cigar. Fantastic flavor and draw.

Amazing.... simply amazing. What every cigar aspires to be. Cubans are fantastic, but even they fall short against this guy. I don't know how somebody who smokes regularly could possibly rate this cigar a 3 .... unless of course his name is C. Fuentes Jr.

My humidor has Gurkhas, Graycliffe's, Monte's & Cohiba's but my favorite smoke is the Padron 1964. Heavy in your hand, beautifully constructed, burns & draws perfectly. Add a dram of your favorite single malt, mine being the Lagavulin 16, and your ready to spend the next 45 minutes or so in absolute bliss!

I've smoked all sorts of cigars and Nicaraguan puros are the best being made right now. Perhaps things will change in Cuba, but communists aren't exactly known for producing quality products (save the AK-47). I just bought a box of Montecristo #4s and they're great, but terribly inconsistent and the construction is often flawed. This PAM Imperial though is perfectly constructed. It feels like a lead pipe but draws perfectly. The flavor of the medium-body is so balanced that it's shocking every time I draw. The Padrons are master blenders. The cigar is pricey, but Padron charges what the cigar's worth.

Very flavorful, well constructed, and overall one of the finest cigars I've had over the years. Better than most of the Cubans you can get your hands on in the US.

All in all, worth every pretty green bill spent.

As someone who travels extensively, I have smmoked my share of Cuban Cigars. La Gloria, Monte, Partagas, I've had them all. If there''s one cigar that can stand up to Cubans it's the Nicaraguan Puro. And THE KING of nicaraguan Puros is PADRON. And in my opinion there isn't anything a Cuban has that the 1964 Imperial does not. Don't get me wrong, cuban cigars are fantastic, but they got nothing on these.

Nothing wrong with this cigar. Nothing. Sipped straight bourbon while smoking, and this stogie held its own, it's a full-bodied smoke. Flawless construction and self-correcting burn is uncanny, how do they make so many of these so well? Compare to the 1926 #1: not as dark/earthy flavor, sweeter. An hour well spent.

My favorite cigar nothing non-cuban even close to comparison

haven't smoked one of these in a few months...I feel like if I smoke them all the time I'd take them for granted. Giving this cigar a 10 in all cetegories is fully warranted. From construction to flavor I couldn't think of any way to improve it. As for the price, you get what you pay for, which in this case is maybe the best cigar in the world, including it's Cuban cousins.

Great cigar. Great in every aspect of draw, taste, appearance... The price is a bit higher than what I like to spend on a single stick, but very much well worth the price!!! How could you rate this a 3 unless. They maybe inexperienced smokers or they were drinking when they ranked this cigar.

The person who rated this a 3 has to be something besides fine cigars. This cigar is awesome! One of the best you will ever smoke.

I'm not really sure how someone could rate this cigar a 3....sometimes the construction may have a little hiccup at the cap but other than that is is amazing, great amounts of flavorful smoke never a bad draw

Flawless construction and pre-light aroma. A solid cigar that burns perfectly. A medium bodied experience that's consistent throughout the smoke. Slight sweet fruit note but also some leather and steak. If properly taken care of, can be a masterpiece.

Recently received one of these as a gift. Unbelievable. Need to get more NOW.

Tasted very similiar to some much less expensive cigars i smoke, primarily rocky's stuff. Unless you're extremely curious or rich stay away.

After looking for something outside of my regular smokes I decided to give this one a try. I seldom spend over $10 a stick unless on location somewhere, but what the hell. After reading the reviews online I sat bak and let the flavors roll in. Perfect construction and a real looker. I plan on keeping a few of these in the humidor, stock permitting.

paired with a Ware port, full moon, and Damien Rice on the player. thoughts of times past and future possibilities swirled together with the rich flavours and ample smoke from the easy draw of this well constructed boxed pressed Nicaraguan puro. With 4 left from a box purchased over 1 year ago these beauties only get better with time. Don't rush these guys, you will not be disappointed.

There are many great cigars, including Cubans, but this one is the best right now. Flawless in every way..delicious full flavor ranging from earth to chocolate...never burns hot..perfect draw and razor sharp burn..I've been trying my best to age some, but they just don't stay in the humidor...I'm not greedy, but I rarely share these for fear that they'll go underappreciated...smoked one last night before a Cuban TTT and there was no contest. Padron Anniversary is the undisputed heavy weight champion of the world.

WOW. Never had the Maduro from the 64 series, very nice. Excellent smoke, very smooth, no aftertaste. Flavor ranges during the burn, but very pleasant. Got a little spicey towards the end. Construction very solid, even burn thruout. Pricey but worth it.

After doing some research on that one cigar that is considered the "best" I found this one. I heard about Opus X but wasn't willing to pay the almost 30 dollars for a stick. Picked one of these baby's up for about 14 bucks, and never regretted it. Great construction, very nice maduro wrapper, very easy draw with lots of flavor. After the first third I wish I wouldn't have cut it and just poked a hole in it! EXCELLENT and WILL buy again. A tad pricy, but, well worth it.

I bought a box last week and was impressed by the extreme construction. I could not wait to light one up. That evening I lit one up and enjoyed the greatest smoke ever. If you can get a box do so.

I had one of this on vacation in Miami, and it was the best cigar I've had so far. It lit perfectly, the burn was even, and the taste was satisfying (not too harsh, but still had lots of flavor).

I have been an avid cigar smoker for ten yearsand I am the type of person that when I find something I like, I am committed to it. There have been many cigars in my past that I would call my "Favorite" and smoke them almost exclusively. However, I found this cigar at the beginning of the 2006 summer and it has all but ruined other cigars for me. I find myself purchasing no other cigar because I just find myself wishing I was smoking one of these. The price is a little rough and I can't really afford them but I make sacrifices elswhere in my life, because this is the cigar I want. Sorry for rambling but it is just such a great smoke.

This cigar was not only alot cheaper then the 40th anniversary torpedo, but i actually preferred the taste. Nice taste of coffee and some pepper, very smooth too. Burned very well, it was a good cigar experience.

I am impressed with this stick. It never seems to fail in its complexity. The first 1/3 is peppery and strong, mellowing into a java/woody second third, finally kicking it into overdrive and finishing stong. I paid 17 at a local retailer and think it to be high but well worth the occasioanal splurge for such a divine cigar. Once again I praise the Padron.

I was hearing great things about this cigar. I smoke a lot of cubans and so I was intrigued to hear that there may be a comparable smoke that I could get w/o having to travel. I cannot say tht this smoke was even close to a good cuban. It was nice looking, but the flavors were just too mundane for me to justify the price tag. I'll keep searching for a cuban-like smoke though.

Very, very good! Unique taste, very complex. There's something about it. I could pick out a hint of black cherry. It burned even and as it did the flavors unlocked themselves. The only down side was when it was done!

this is the best cigar ever, burn was even, the taste was like coco beans the whole way thru. I got to the knub and there was no harsh burn.

These are the most consistent superior quality cigars money can buy. Appearance is flawless, Draw is the best you can get, Flavor is pure tobacco clean, crisp, puro, walnutty quality rich earthy loamy qualitites to it. Upper medium strenght and stays clean

Found a few at a local smoke shope that I do not frequent often, and had to give them a try.

A very smooth pleasent smoke. Great for an evening on the deck. I did find the flavor a little lacking. I like strong cigars and found myself wishing that this one had a little more flavor.

For $15 I expect better construction than this. My first sample had a number of stems in it.

This was not a bad cigar, it was very well constructed and certainly looked like a million bucks but the taste in my opinion didn’t live up to the hype. This was a full bodied smooth tasting cigar but I’ve tasted better for less than half the price. The Imperial tasted like deep espresso but not too complex after that. It had a decent draw and became better toward the middle but not much more and it was also slightly bitter. My friend smoked another one with me and he also agreed, and he’s a more experienced cigar smoker than me. These twenty dollar a piece cigars were in my humidor for about a month but a cigar with this hype and price should taste good right out of the cigar shop. I may try another one after leaving in the humidor for a longer time.

my major complaint was the construction. i wasn't sold on the box shape. that aside, everything else about the good. won't be buying to many of these at 15 dollar a clip but it has its time.

About all the great things you can say about a cigar applies here. I don't get into all that flavor stuff about licorice and whatever, but I swear this cigar has a black cherry taste to me. If you can afford 'em buy 'em.

This baby is a real treat! Obviously the hype is tremendous, already potentially biasing any review. However, knowing that, I purposefully "raised the bar" to allow this cigar to impress me. As such, it had an uphill battle before the first draw. It succeeded. This box-pressed beauty had a seductive dark chocolate wrapper with minor veining. Very nice prelight aroma and solid construction without soft spots. Easy light. Burned a little hot at first, but settled down after the first inch (depsite being stored at 65/65 for 4 months before smoking). TONS of billowy white smoke. Started with some pepper and spice, but eased its way into a very rich, complex blend of espresso, cocoa, and mild caramel. It had a nice heavy feel in the hand, and a creamy finish in the palate. This is the kind of cigar that you stop doing whatever it was you were doing when you lit it and enjoy the experience. It paired well with coffee and lasted just over an hour, though I found myself wishing it lasted longer!!! In the end, this one is worth the hype, at least in my opinion. I'm glad I have 30 more in the humi! This one is a real treat!

Finding price point cigars is important if you smoke up to 4 cigars a day. These cigars have ruined the joy of my 2,3,4,5 dollar favorites. All I wanna do is smoke these. The second best cigar on the planet. (1926 is soo carmelly) Thinking about hanging out at the port and Hijacking the next container. Sorry kids looks like its state college.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I truly wanted to make this my ideal quintessential cigar-I was let down. The appearence and draw were wonderful, but at $15.00 a stick- this should have tasted a lot better. I aged this for 3+ months in my humidor and I thought that that would allow all of the greatness of this cigar come through. This cigar started out like burnt toast, then mellowed out in to a mellow-medium bodied cigar. About halfway through, it showed some creaminess and a few caramel notes. That was the best part. Other than that it was simply an ok cigar with a $15.00 price tag. Last week, I had a simple Punch cigar aged 4 months and it was a lot better tasting than this. This cigar was complex and did change flavors throughout the entire cigar, but none of the flavors were outstanding. Honestly, the Gran Habano No. 5 is a lot better at $4.00 a stick. I would recommend a the 3000 or 2000 rather than this Padron. Sorry, I really wish I could recommend this one.

Excellent draw, billowing clouds with each puff. Burns evenly to the nub, nice looking cigar. The flavor of the cigar just did nothing for me. I wasn't looking forward to the next draw while enjoying the most recent one. I just kept waiting for it to seduce me.

As you admire the beautiful wrapper, hold the cigar in your hands and heft it, smiling at the thought of spending the next hour or so with this cigar, please remember to do 2 things: take off the band and find a sturdy round toothpick. You're going to smoke this one way past the band and if you're like me, you'll want to smoke the last molecule of this baby. I've never smoked a cigar before this size that I could smoke to the last half inch and have great smooth flavors without harshness. The maduro wrapper is very well done, providing the expected flavors of expresso and cocoa, but without harshness. These Padron anniversary cigars deserve their reputation. Don't take my word for it, find a few for yourself. D-liscious.

A great cigar that burns and draws without a flaw, has a very complex flavor that is the best I have every smoked. Worth the money and is a must try, but be warned you will never be happy with anything less

Rich, strong, flavorful and complex. different taste at every puff. Great construction with even burn and plenty of smoke. Beautiful appearance. Cigars can't be much better than this one.

Outstanding, easy draw, smooth cedar and spice. Pricey but well worth it for that quiet, soothing, end of the day cigar moment. Difficult to find.....but worth the effort......

This cigar has become my fav of the anniv line. I love the ring gauge on this one. It allows for a different experience than the others. Fantastic draw and burn as usual with this line. Great med to full taste that is smooth as always.

As I said with the Exclusivo(M), this is a great tasting, slow and perfect burning cigar. You couldn't ask for more in a cigar other than a lower price...

I buy these by the box and blow through the first half sometimes in a week. The rest I have to stretch out a while because of the price. No mistake, this is a great, great cigar like all Padrons

Fantastic taste, even burn, easy draw, hard to put down. I actually prefer this more than the Exclusivo(M) and that's hard to beat.

As you probably have noticed from my reviews I am a die-hard Cuban Cigar lover, but this time I will be praising Mr. Padron’s creation. Bought back in May of 2000 this cigar became almost a classic during 3 years of aging. Nice easy draw, cool smoke, slow even burn and lots of pleasant flavors of sweet subtle spice which was very smooth along with hints of cedar and coco beans with long finish. Kind of reminded of R&J Robusto LE, but with more subtle taste. Stayed consistent throughout the smoke giving out pleasant sort of floral aroma. Very enjoyable smoke, probably the only cigars, which blend, can be almost confused with Cuban tobacco. Good job, Mr. Padron!

perfect except for price.

I am sold on Padron on every count...looks, built, taste, aroma. Cost is too high, but so are many overrated Cubans. At this price against most Cubans, Padron stands tall....
