"a line in decline?"
Lumpy, streaky and veiny. Picked up a funky, vegetal flavor upon lighting. When the funk didn't fade by the one-third mark, it became obvious this stick was just plain young. Some nice chocolate flavors broke through on occasion, but grassiness remained. Either my tastes have changed or the regular Padron line is not what it once was. For me, anyway, this is the latest in a series of underwhelming experiences. I had a delicious PAM Exclusivo a few months ago, but the rest have been average at best.

"Consistently good cigar."
These cigars are rustic and dull in appearance, but consistently solid in the important categories of construction, flavor, and value. Once aged for at least 6 months, they have smooth spice and mocha overtones within a straight tobacco base. They can taste a bit harsh if you try smoking them young. Mostly medium to sometimes full in body these cigars will not disappoint you. Of all the cigars I bid on and get good values on at C-bid I can never get a five pack of these for less than $20. I just may take Peoria Perfecto Lover's advice and lay down a box for a long nap. These cigars are the model for consistency in the industry. They have never disappointed me. I'll base the value rating on $4.00.

"Well Aged ... 1964 Quality at 1/3 The Price"
What more can I say? If you have enough in your cigar budget to buy an extra box ... and any means of proper storage ... keep the box sealed. I have a walk-in closet, in which I keep a $25 regular room humidifier ... and 62-65 humidity is fine for long term storage and aging. In 4 years, give or take, these "regular line" Padrons magically transform into 1964 quality, at 1/3 the price. The only discernible difference, IMHO, is the box press. What an absolutely delicious, tasty treat. Smooth silky texture of smoke, even burn. What a steal, 1964 quality, at less than $5.

"Bittersweet"
Have just recently tried this cigar for the first time. Pre-light was a pleasant surprise with rich toasted nut tones. Light was quick and even. First third was one cloud away from Cuban heaven with it's plentiful smoke and roasted nut, coffee and chocolate flavors . However, by the end of the first third the burn began to have to be corrected and the draw began to fade into what would be a very dissatisfying ordeal. By the beginning of the last third all was well again but by this time I was bummed that I had to work so hard to get there. The redeeming quality was in the finish which can only be described as perfection. Smooth, decent strength and left me wanting more. For what it's worth I tried a second stick from the same box but had essentially the same experience. If this third one smokes the same as the first two I'll have to try one from another shop. If I can get one to draw all the way through, these will become a staple in my stock.

Bought this one after good reviews from this site. I was extremely impressed. Great construction. Nice smooth brown wrapper. Slightly uneven burn but no problem. The taste was super creamy and lots of rish some. Complex flavors which I can't put into words. Simply excellent cigar

"Great Cigar/Cigarbid auction a year later"
These cigars were good at the time I bought them, but wait a year and man, what an improvement. When I unwrapped the stick, I noticed the cellophane had taken on a brown color. The smell of the stick was similar to that of a Padron 4000 (somewhat chocolate). The smoke taste was similar as well. After smoking this stick down to a nub, I am still noticing a sweet rich chocolate scent. The finish is a little spicey and I am very please with the fact that I still have over half a box from my original purchase. If possible, I plan to (try) wait another year and see what happens.

"Great Cigar from Cigarbid auction"
The Padron reputation continues. This was my first experience with a Padron Churchill. The size seems a little small for a Churchill, but it is worth every $$$ that it costs. Can't wait to age of few of these and try them again.

"Really Good"
my local cigar shop has onlytwo Padrons to choose from, the Churchill Maduro and the 3000 Natural. The Churchill is much more flavorful. At first I didn't especially like the ring gauge, but I've gotten used to it. A great smoke, burns evenly and draws easier than many larger gauge other brand cigars. Can't wait to try the 5000 M and several others, but in the meantime, this is the best cigar I can buy at my local shop.

"Near perfection"
Impeccable appearance and construction; wrapper was oily and just slighlt veigny, with strong prelit notes of coffee and some pepper. Draw was perfect and consistent throughout. The flavor is full-bodied and complex: initial woodsy notes and some spice develop into expresso and cocoa with an amazingly smooth finish. This was one of the best cigars I have smoked; equals or tops the Partagas No.10 Maduro, Ashton No. 60 Maduro, and La Gloria Cubana Serie R No. 7.

"Rewarding and Relaxing"
My 1st Padron, but not my last! A creamy smoke with coffee and woody undertones that get fuller and richer as you smoke it down to the end. An even burn with a nice sharp defined ash. I waited 7 years to finally smoke one and if this smoke has taught me anything, it is, get more Padrons, NOW!

"Padron Maduro"
Very nice smoke. Flawless construction although they are tender in the humidor. Crumble easily. Maduro has a more mellow espresso note than the natural. Also missing was that hint of anise. Great burn and draw, but not as nice as the natural.

"Deserves a Medal"
This is an all around excellent cigar, and when one considers the price, it's even more impressive. I wish more cigar manufacturers would follow Padron's lead. The construction is excellent, flavor is rich with no aftertaste, and frankly my only complaint is that I didn't want it to end. Wish they sold these in boxes of 100.
