"one of the finest nc's"
When the occasion calls, I go to a PAM 26 #1 Maduro. Impeccable construction, the perfect draw, and the most profound complex flavors any cigar could offer. Chocolate, expresso, nuts, cocoa, spice, and leather.

"Nice Long Smoke"
This cigar is bigger than what I normally smoke and it seemed to last forever! The construction of every Padron I have tried is not comparable by any other brand. The burn is always nice and straight, the ashes look amazing and the draw is second to none, and the amount of smoke you get out of these will make you think you were in a fog. The taste is complex as with any other 26 or 64 Padron, however, I do still prefer the 64's.

"Nice smoke. But not THAT nice."
Looks great and draws flawlessly. Huge volumes of silky smoke. Flavor is prediminantly woody for the first half, before it picks up that coffee grounds, cocoa and licorice Padron profile. It's a very good smoke. Not profound in any category aside from construction and aroma, though. And not worth MSRP, let alone the absurd street price.

"Another great Serie 1926"
Besides the foot looking a little loose, the appearance and construction has been flawless on these. Would give a 10 on flavor, but I just can't say "the best ever, period" yet. Not cheap, but worth it.

"Thank GOD the Feds are cutting rates back.."
Now I can afford some more of these. Seriously pricey, but oh what taste, construction, flavor, all excellent, I think if you want people to know you spent alot on a cigar have one of these hanging off your lip, but in all fairness to the PADRON Anniversary line up, they are all decent smokes for all the right reasons. Enjoy!

"Incredible"
Amazing. Simply the best cigar I have ever had. Flawless burn & draw. Flavor can only be compared to a fine 20 year aged single malt. Smooth, balanced flavor with many individual notes, all well blended together. Luxury! For special occasions only at this price.

"Great Cigar as Always"
I've always loved these cigars and finally thought i'd add my review. This cigar has very complex flavors that match or may even be better than many cubans (its cuban seed anyways) with excellent build and long ashes. If you know how to take care of your cigars, they should taste great. Try reading up on humidors and such; its the way to keep cigars as they should be since purchase.

"Pardron 26 #1 (M)"
Definitely favored this excellent example of a '26' over the non-maduro #1. I'd put it in the top 4-5 of the '64' & '26' list.

"Great experience"
It'd be wrong to smoke this cigar all the time, the same way it'd be wrong to live in Denver but fly to Toyko on weekends just to eat the sushi. This is a best-of-class smoke, admirable in all respects: artfully rolled wrapper almost translucent with seemingly-deliberate veining, eat-me-I'm-chocolate flavor and "...like incense to heaven" smoke & draw. I don't know any good reference points (cedar, cocoa, freshly-split-wood) for this stogie because it's out there on its own, just as good an experience with tobacco as is likely to exist, period. Buy one sometime, make sure it's in a good condition to smoke, then fire it up -- like a big meal from a popular chef, it may not be your favorite food but it's got a lot of heart and you can appreciate the care and thought that went into it. If you're reading this, it's because you like cigars, and I'd say: this is a cigar worth saving up some $$ for and trying out once in a great while. More than almost any cigar I've ever smoked, it's been FUN to smoke a few of these.

"Awesome!!"
Thank G-d for friends! This was a gift... boy was it ever. Lasted a looong time, beautiful white ash on top of the great maduro wrapper that doesn't over-power the delicious blend. Burned like a champ, with tons of flavorful strong smoke. This baby rocks and deserves time and attention when smoking, for the best experience. One of the best looking, feeling, construct, flavors out there!! Padron classic, wish I had the time & $ to smoke one regularly. Truly a Classic, Can't wait to try the 40th in the humi...

"A bit disappointed...not much"
I was girted a box of these last Christmas, and bought one each of Maduro and Natural and put all three in my humidor. I'm a big fan of these cigars, some of them beat out Cubans in most catagories, IMO...but after going thru a half box of Serie '64 Imperials, this was almost a letdown. Don't get me wrong, this is one of the best cigars made today, I think, but when you consider that in 2005, out of the 9 regular sizes of serie '64s, 8 of them were "humidor selection" in CA...and they only give out 30 of those ratings...these eight were in one issue. This no 1, however, is an exceptionally well-rounded (so to speak) cigar in every aspect. I agree with reviewer no. 1 when they say that the tobacco flavors are awesome, and I'll go so far as to say that they show incredible depth, but I totally disagree that it's a one dimentional cigar. I hope we were smoking the same thing, bud, but it looks like we were. Those serial numbers are how you can tell authenticity. Go to Padron's site and read from there. This is a very full flavored cigar, I wouldn't recommend it to a novice, or even an intermediate as there is the strength of the smoke, yes, but the complexities are such that I can smoke the cigar down to the nub and still not get everything it has to offer. However, once again, try a box of '64 Imperials...outstanding, and other than one or two '26's, '64's have MANY more 93, 94 and even 95 ratings in CA

"A Smooth, Strong, One Demensional Ride"
An Elegant cigar to behold with the double Padron banding. Mine was numbered 524668. It guarantees it authenticity. Whatever that means. The somewhat glossy, dark brown (I assume this was the Maduro...help me out here guys...is the maduro black or dark brown?) Nicaraguan wrapper was seamless and handsome. This cigar had been in my box for 9 months. Gauge said good to go. Prelight aroma was of full, straight, smooth, well aged tobacco. What I smelt was what I tasted. The Flavor? There really wasn't any. This stick allows you to receive smooth, straight, well aged tobacco at a full throttle pace (draw was a tad loose all through, burn was uneven in last third) without blowing your palate apart. Boom...Pow....full tobacco all through, smooth yes, but incredibly boring and one demensional. I kept waiting for something different to happen with this. Nothing different ever happened and I smoked this to the nub. I can appreciate the smooth power of this Nicaraguan Puro but I can't say I really enjoyed it that much. It bored me. The salt and pepper ash on this was aggravatingly exciting as it was very flakey and llittered my lap. I can certainly enjoy full bodied cigars. I love a Cuban Cohiba when I can get and afford one, I love the strong, smooth balance of flavor and power in a well aged Rocky Patel Sun Grown or a Gran Habano, and I love the Joya De Nicararagua Antano (another Nicaraguan puro) But there are some nice flavor overtones within the full bodied tobaccoo to all those that this cigar lacked. Did my wife pay $25 for a bad stick? Maybe. Will I pay $25 to try this cigar again to find out? I doubt.
In the reviews I read here for this stick a few seem to be reviewing the 40th anniversary 1926. That's a different cigar. Others, when they seem to be be reviewing the correct cigar never mention much flavor wise with these. Maybe this one demensional experience, much like veteran reviewer Dabarian mentions, is just what you get with these and this cigar is just not for me. For $25-ish a throw can you see why I am not quite ready to jump back in the saddle with this?

"1926 is Better than 1964"
This luscious beauty was in the humi for four years. Perfect burn with complex flavors. Deep rich smoke with a solid white ash. My good friend just kicked his girlfriend to the curb and celebrated his freedom with a pair of these he was saving for a special. It was special for me to smoke it. hahaha

"Aged = slight improvement"
I had one of these that had been aging in the humidor for some time and thought I would give it a shot. It was better than the first one I had tried in that it was a bit smoother on the palate, but I still cannot justify the price tag for such a just-a-little-above average smoke.

"Over priced"
The Padron Anni is far better than this smoke in my opinion. This applies to brun, flavor and even how it looks. It is still a nice cigar compared to your average stock, but it is not a 20 plus dollar smoke. Sorry to burst the bubble of those who feel that the price was worth it, you are fooling yourselves. Try the Anni, and then tell me otherwise.

I just got a box of these yesterday (almost an impossible find), and I couldn't wait to get out of the office to finally give them a try. I have to say this thing was great from beginning to the end. Excellent draw, tons of flavors, and most importantly and full body smoke. If you have a chance to pick these up do it, its worth every penny. I will have to save half of these in the humidor and try them in a year or so.

"Worth $26? Maybe."
This is one of the finest smokes I've ever had. It appears small but is so tightly packed that it will burn very slowly and evenly and for quite some time. The amazing thing is that it still maintained an excellent draw throughout. Those Partagas guys sure know what they're doing. I picked up one of these for $26, and at that price it was worth it to try but I wouldn't buy any more at that price.
If you get the chance, pick one up.

"One of the best"
Big and beautiful, this cigar has a dark and flawless wrapper. While the draw is a bit loose, it puts out a huge amount of smoke, the burn is excellent, and forms a nice ash. Lots of leather and bitter dark chocolate right from the onset, it's joined by some cream and nuttty pistachio flavors later on; full bodied in the sense that the flavors are robust, but it's far from overpowering as it's still smooth and balanced. Great now, it seems that it can even get better with some age. It's expensive, but it delivers what you'd expect from a $20 cigar.

"Legalize Cubans!"
Legalize Cubans ... then Padron 64's and 26's will be easier to find. First of all, I am a huge Padron fan; there is nothing better out there--from any country. The no.1 1926 maduro is the best smoke I have had (I am finishing one right now), and it is worth the money when compared to the 64's. It is not blow your mind better that the 64's, but it is subtly better and worth the money. The only Padron I have yet to smoke is the 40th Anniversary. My girlfried and I have a pair stashed for our anniversary. The draw here is a bit loose, kind of like the regular line 3000's; but if you are gentle, it smokes just fine and delivers a huge amount of delicious smoke. If you like Padrons--or like cigars--this is a must smoke. Just make sure you have the time and place to thoroughy enjoy it. This is a sit in the living room smoke, not a bar cigar; you must not have any distractions that will interfer with the experience. Have some great bourbon (Baker's neat is my choice, or whatever floats your boat), light up and enjoy. Also, screw those people who bring down the ratings because they are cheap and rate the Value as 1.

"Appreciation"
Smoking one right now. From the beginning of my cigar smoking days until last week I would only smoke Cubans, prefering them over all else. Yet this 'gar changed my mind altogether! Low on funds, I have managed to scrounge up enough money each day for the last week to fulfill what has now become an addiction. Padron 1926 #1 is #1! Cohiba Sublimes #2, and the rest are difficult to determine! In fact, if you can afford it, I recommend the 1926 40th Anniversary 'gar. There is something so peculiar yet remarkable about these Padrons, something inexplicable, mysterious, yet ultimately they are the superlative of beauty!

"ISOM killer"
I know a few cuban snobs who try to discredit Padron's skill bjut for those of you on the fence I invite you to try an unforgettable smoking experience. This cigar has tastes that can never be duplicated and a consistency that the cubans may never achieve. The draw, burn, and construction were all top notch. The smoke starts off very strong and then mellows but stays full thruout. This cigar took me on a journey that should not be legal, it was that good. Don't be scared of the price! It's still cheaper than a cohiba sublime and you don't have to worry about any of that "sick period" crap.

For anyone who knows and ejoys the Padron 1964, this is an easy cigar to rate. It has all the virtues of the 1964, but delivers more of them. The 1926 is darker, richer, spicier, stronger and the sweetest smoke I have ever had. Simply put, as good as any cigar I know.

"you all payed what?"
a gift from a good guy to help settle a dispute. i've had the 64's, some Opus', etc, and this one was nowhere near the flavor i had from those other cigars. why on earth pay that much when you could buy cuban cigars that will blow this one away for a lot cheaper? seriously, you all payed how much for one of these? mine was harsh, one dimensional... i couldn't find any words to describe how unimpressed i was with this, and shocked that it was actually a padron. everything that i care about in a cigar was bad, and now that i find out how much they cost, you all are crazy.

"Robust and refined"
As a huge Padron fan I couldn't wait to get my hands on the 1926 four cigar sampler. I have always said that if I could only smoke one cigar it would be the 1964 Anniversario. My local dealer was very nice to save this box for me. This is by far the most robust cigar that I have ever smoked. I have smoked many a Cuban Partagas, Cohiba, Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta. These cigars are both strong yet very smooth in their delivery. Still maintains much of the Padron flavor only more intense. A very rich leathery flavor with no harsh after taste. A must smoke for anyone who likes full bodied cigars.
