"Its not 2001"
This one came from the LCDH in Cancun. I was anxious to try this smoke, as the original 01s are one of my all time favs. The wrapper was dark like the 01, but I don't think the box press was there in quite the same way. The flavors were some what muddled and it wasn't quite what I recalled about the 01s. This cigar had modest spice and little bit of earthyness.

"typical great partagas flavors"
had to be relit a couple of times, but i think it was a little over-humidified. had similar flavors to the shorts and sd4s. spicy, but sweet. built up nicely to a full bodied gem.

"UP DATE"
I want to up date my 2006 review of this cigar because I spoke of it's potential after smoking a few out of a box I purchased shortly after it's release. I've had the box for over a year now and it is still 2/3 full. Definately not my "go to" cigar. Beautiful to look at and the spicy strength is great. The problem is that 50% of the ones I've tried are rooled far too tightly. I'm one of those guys who like to smoke a cigar and not just wave it around re-lighting it 15 times in an attempt to get it to burn. I live in the tropics where the humidity runs much higher that you would ever set your humidor. Perhaps the wet factor plays a part here. But, I don't seem to have the same problem with my 2 usual smokes ... P-4 and Monty #4 P.S. Review program would not let me post this with out filling in "Price Paid" Actually I have forgotten, but what ever it was it was too much.

"Needs more time"
A nice looking, toothy cigar, with thin veins. It was smoked in a Tokyo Cigar Bar while drinking Macallan 18. Great construction, burn, and semi-tight draw (typical of Partagas)...the cigar had fair amounts of spice, and toasted nuts, but I think it needs more time to really come together. I'll try another one in about 6 months.

"Sawdust"
It looks good, it smells good, and that is where it ends. The taste is dry and with a burning sawdust after taste. Really not a good cigar, especially at that price.

"good cigar"
Giorgio, most likely you had a fake. It is surely not a light cigar. It is very powerful, full of pepper, spice, leather, wood, and cream, all in a great size. Unfortunately I did find one plugged, which drops the construction rating. Fantastic cigar.

"Is this a true Partagas?..."
...not because it's bad, rather the other way round, but for its lightness. Well built, nice looking and nicely flavoured, this cuban is light! So light, you may mistake it for some dominican (excellent) product. The flavours are toned down, a bit distant. I wonder if it is just because it's young, and deserves (or needs) to age...

"OH, YEAH!!!"
This vitola, the Corona Gorda, is without doubt one of my very favorite two or three sizes. My main go-to cigar is the Punch-Punch, so when these were released I bought two boxes right away, but unfortunatly I had one of the boxes shipped to where I was vacationing and the whole box got smoked...youth and all. Even though they were young, I most heartily agree with the first review here...these will rock, and it's not gonna take a buch of years, either. A ring gauge of 46 can age must faster than larger cigars. That said, those 25 that got smoked up on vaca were terrific cigars. I mean, world-class cigars. I'm sure the atmosphere helped, but man, Partagas has a real winner here. I am trying to swing getting one more so I can have some for the future...the second box got opened last week, and I smoked one, but now the 'semi-boite' or whatever the heck packaging they call it is now much looser with a better air flow, and I keep the lid un-snapped. The Partagas oeooer is there, to be sure, as well as the expected coffee bean and cocoa bean notes, but I'm very impressed with the depth of the tobacco flavors at such a young age. This EL is the best EL since the Magnum 50, and only one better than that, the Cohiba Double Coe '03 EL. I you are a cigar LOVER, you must try these...the price is also not too bad for an el, and my god...the wrappers and construction...just wait!

"Potential"
There needs to be an additional criteria called "Potential" fpr a cogar like this one. It's unfair to rate a Limited Edition cigar when it is still less than six months old. Being a D4 fan I obtained a box of these and, of course, I couldn't resist trying one out. I'll let the rest of the box mature until at least 07 ... this cigar deserves that sort of respect. I antisipate that the excellent flavor will increase and, hence the "Value" and "Over all Eperience" will follow. It will be intresting to see how reviews that come in 6 months from now and later stack up against these few initial ones.

"Not as good as the original"
This one failed to live up to the original release of this cigar. The flavor lacked the depth and consistency of the original release. Still a damn good cigar and much better then the other 2006 EL the Monte robusto

"Good now, great later."
I had to break open the box and try one even though it was only an April '06 boxcode. I was not disappointed. Beautiful dark wrapper, sheeny in appearance. Perfect construction with a nice draw and razon sharp burn. Had that familiar Partagas flavor but was smoother than the PSD4s. A hint of sweetness belied the leathery taste towards the end. A good smoke already, I think this will be one of the best Partagas ever with a little age.

"Great cigar"
Well, im not the best at writing reviews but I had the chance to try out one of the new Partagas Serie D No. 3 Edicion Limitada 2006 this evening.
Wow, what can i say. Beautifully constructed cigar, nice draw and burn and a great taste all the way through. I've not smoked a Partagas in a long while and this was not as peppery as I remember (was expecting that peppery prickly feeling on my lips) but kind of sweet, Im going to be buying a box of these babies as soon as I can.
