Great Cigar, more Power than a Hoyo DC

2 year old Habanos. Good looking. Even burn, passable draw. A little rough up to half way. Great taste the second half.

"A wonderful cigar - 1998 vintage"
Just smoked an incredible Punch DC from 1998. Beautiful wrapper, wonderful aroma, even burn, and delicious flavor. Its certainly one of the top double coronas in the world.

"Tasty!"
A fantastic cigar! This double corona from 1998 sports a Colorado wrapper with minimal veins and a triple cap. There is slight mottling along its length and a mild box press. Solid in the hand - good construction without soft spots. Easy light. Smooth draw. Fairly even burn without the need for relights or touchups. Dense gray ash. WOOD! The first few draws screamed this to me. The first third saw the wood meld with a smooth, creamy flavor and the taste of straight tobacco. A tangy citrus flavor also started to come to the forefront, as well as hints of mild chocolate and even a whisper of overripe plum. The middle third saw a continuation of the woody core, with the tobacco assuming a toasted character. The citrus flavor still held in the background, but occasionally flashed itself to the front. A dusting of cocoa was also noted. In the last third, the tangy citrus, wood, and cream all were represented in an equivalent medley of flavors with a touch of lemon zest. It was almost as if the proportions of flavors changed more than the flavors themselves. All in all, this 2 hour medium-to-full bodied smoke was a delight. It wears its age well (as Punch's tend to do), and was paired with Matusalem rum.

"A Stunner!"
The single reason for those that complained about this stick is one: you got a fake dude!
This massive vitola needs time to enjoy. Smoked a couple from a 50s box dated JUL 04 and I am still amazed every time. Construction was almost perfect, the reason I don't give a 10 is because the band gives away golddust which I have confirmed that is normal (not fake). Draw was perfect in each stick I've smoked. The taste gave hints of caramel and sweet spice with the unmistakable cuban flavour "the way it is supposed to be". Last one I've smoked together with a proper caipirinha was a trip to heaven. Outstanding!
Want to try punch churchills next.

"A sleeping giant"
I got a cabinet of 50 of these, box date May 05 on sale at 25% off, so per gar they clocked in at approx 11 bucks. I cannot believe how awesome this cigar is; it must be the Cuban sleeper of the year cuz it's never mentioned. Incredible flavor that changes througout this monster cigar that lasts a lifetime and you want to smoke it to the nub! They taste like they've been aged for years (not if I keep going at this rate!), so deep and so rich. If you like Cubans you have to get a box of these. Occassional plugged cigar a minor drawback

"A Splendid Behemoth!"
Along with 3 other friends, I smoked this classic last night. They were from FEB02 (Dress box). Simply outstanding cigar. Actually on the mild side. Wonderful flavors. The burn was straight as a razor. All who smoked it concurred: one of the best cigars ever smoked.

spend it with this cigar! Very nice interpretation of the DC form. Strong but with nice flavor progression. A winner!

"Nice ... if you can get them"
What a difference a few hundred kilometers makes. A marked difference between the Cuban and Dominical cousins. Toasty, complex and powerful with a strong spice and cinnamon start and a cedar & leather finish. Worth the price but beware of fakes!!

"Punch (Cuba) Cigars"
The flavor was almost non-existant, and was over priced.

"Punch"
Smoked one of these in Bermuda. Not my favorite cigar but it'll do in a pinch. Flavor was a bit uneven, but the draw was good and it burned evenly. Not bad.

"not bad"
Started off great with some decent strength, and that characteristic complex cuban flavor. Kind of faded away into nothing after that. Burned great until the halfway point, then went to hell.

"Punch DC"
Legendary Cuban construction. The draw and burn were perfect. Toasty flavors of caramel and sweet spice with a nice baby buzz that builds toward the nub. Not to be wasted while smoking with unwanted distractions.

"Dog Rocket"
I waited a year to smoke this on...What a mistake. It was rolled so tight it hurt my jaw, the flavor was almost non-existant, and the constuction was very vainy. I couldn't even finish it.

"Surprised me"
When I first put this in my mouth, I thought I was in for the smoke of a lifetime. Unfortunately the wrapper was very thin and the flavor only held for the first inch of the cigar. Beyond the one inch point the ciugar degraded, and was not very enjoyable.
