"High Expectations"
Had high expectations after reading some of the previous reviewers' flavor profiles....Cocoa, coffee, chocolate, honey, cream. This one was an '01 from a cab. Sadly, mine had none of the complexity or delicious flavors that others described. Don't get me wrong, it was a good cigar with good construction, but it was fairly one-dimensional all the way through. This cigar had notes of wood and leather, and that's about it. Again, not a bad cigar at all, just not living up to my expectations.

"a gentle punch"
This was a much smoother and lighter Punch than I am used to. It definitley did not have the pop of a Punch Corona which I love but the flavor was enjoyable none the less. The wrapper was nicely constructed dark, and silky. I had mine with a glass of scotch an it served to be quite relaxing. Good smoke, all around.

"A refined Punch discovery"
Bough 10 sticks from a Cabinet 25 box (BVD-MAY 03) let them set for a week before I gave one the test.
The visual alone sets the tone for this cigar. Perfect construction, the wrapper was smooth, dark, and the oils had set in giving that 'waxy' sheen, that I love.
They have that Punch "earthiness almost barnyard" distinct smell, I find intoxicating.

The cigar was firm, yet it opened to a nice draw and burned evenly through out. The flavor on lips began salty, then of coffee and light semi-chocolate were immediately present and continued building and the finished with a refined tobacco ll the while, leaving a med-light dryness on the palate. Throughly enjoyed this cigar. Go buy a few and enjoy. Superb with a cup of coffee!

"A perrennial Fave!!"
I love the Punch Punch. This is like a tad stronger, more oomph, complex, & tasty, older brother.
I've been lucky to have found some that were exceptionally well made from some excellent tobaccos

"What happened??"
Bought a box of these guys based on some of the reviews which used such adjectives as "tasty", "rich", "powerful" and "fruity". They certainly looked the part sitting in the cedar cabinet. Sure enough, I couldn't resist temptation while transfering them to my humi'. They look gorgeous with beautiful, silky, light tan wrappers. A nice solid feel, not too firm and not too soft. Lighting is a breeze and draw and burn are just perfect; very steady and even with a nice, solid, light grey ash. No problems in the construction department here. Where I did have a problem is with the flavor -- or rather the lack of it. This ranks as probably one of the mildest cigars I've ever had. Sure it was there but I felt I had to concentrate to discern anything -- maybe very mild tobaco and honey. I kept waiting for things to develop but nothing was forthcoming - even right down to the band and beyond. I was seriously impressed with the even burn and ash development though -- a joy to look at!
I'm hoping the remaining 24 will soak up some more flavor from the other smokes sitting in the humi' or maybe the remainder will have more flavor? Did I get a bad batch? The dealer in Switzerland seemed legit and the packaging passed all the tests so I don't thing they're fakes either - especially with the high quality of the construction.

"Superb cigar"
Superb cigar, but burns a little fast (smoked mine in 35 minutes).

Mine were from a '02 cabinet. Great citrus flavor without the "tangy" Bolivarish aftertaste.

"both plugged"
Bought two out of a box from 2001. One was so plugged I couldn't even get it properly lit, the other had a very, very tight draw and after half an ince or so the whole wrapper came undone. What a waste! I think you have to buy from late 2003 or 2004. These Cubans have a much better construction and draw.

"A puch for the connoisseur"
A Punch that's very strong, flavorful, complex, deep. Burns really well. While I do like the Punch line, most of them DO NOT rank among my highest rated; but not this one. Because of the complexity of its character and its overall strength (more so than the average Punch brand or Punch Punch) I would call it truly a connoisseur's cigar.

"Pow!"
An aptly named stogy. Rich, earthy, and POWerful with creamy dark cocoa flavor. Make sure you smoke this one AFTER you mow the lawn-That is if you like you hands and feet where they are. Had a little bit of behavior problem with this one.
