pre-smoke smell of leather and molassas. Good, dense white smoke, medium to heavy body with good creaminess, hint of sweetness and cedar, a little spicy at the end. Great for the price if you don't have much time.

Awesome short smoke (20-25 mins)- bargain price. As good as El Jocko or Hemingway Short Story.

"Nice little smoke"
This is nice tasting, smooth, well made small cigar that looks good, provides tons of smoke and smells very nice. The latter comment surprised me based on its pre-light aroma, which wasn’t that pleasant. I really enjoyed this smoke and will buy more without exception. It was more than I had hoped for!

"OK"
Nothing special here. Attractive figurado reminiscent of an AF Short Story. Tawny brown wrapper with minimal veins. Solid construction without soft spots. No prelight aroma to speak of. Extraordinarily easy light given the tapered foot. Smooth draw. Very dense gray-white ash. Razor sharp burn without the need for relights or corrections. The flavor was rather one-dimensional. It started with white pepper and very mild sweet cedarwood, but the flavor never opened up and remained adynamic throughout its course. I would even go so far as to call it bland. I couldn't help but to compare it to the AFSS, which is a much more complex smoke. For the money, I would skip this and go for the SS, and I am even partial to the Gran Cru line, in general. Wouldn't buy more.

"punchito"
One of THE best on river cigars period! These will never go out once they get going. Great tastes of leather and spice. Firm ash and small enough so you're not always hitting it with you flyline! Some construction issues, though, always a few plugged almost to the point of unsmokable in every box.

"Excellent little cigar"
Tasted good from the moment that I put it in my mouth. Construction is excellent. Burn is good, but I had to learn how to light these. Both these and the larger Champion need some rest time between draws to burn evenly. Held on to its ash right up to the band. I had to remove the band to continue because the flavor would just not let up. A real finger burner!

"A good quick smoke"
Starts out very sweet and mild. By the end, somewhat strong and spicy. A great choice for right after a hearty breakfast if you only have a few minutes.

"Like its name"
The cigar packs a punch for me. I can take the regular line, but the Grand Cru is just too strong. Great tastes of coffee, deep and rich, but can't get over the drunken effects.

"Good things come in ..."
Short story was great to try the Punch premeium line. It's flavor was rather mild and not as harsh as the typical Punch. I liked it, I didn't love it. The flavor was hard to describe.
