A dark papery looking wrapper. Draws well for such a big cigar. Medium bodied. Great taste. Very even burn and construction with a white ash. Smokes cool all the way to the end. One box down, will definitely get another. buzz factor=7

Easy draw and good even burn. Leave them in the humidor for a few weeks and they really get good. This one's just right - I keep plenty on hand.

"Dark & Rich"
Bought a 5-pack of these 3 months ago and this is my 4th one. This is one great maduro; very well balanced. Shows a slightly toothy veiny and oily dark brown wrapper. Has a very solid, heavy feel. Luscious pre-light aromas of dark fermented tobacco, leather and red cedar. Draw seemed a tad tight, but burn was perfect throughout; even and razor sharp. Maintained a long, tightly layered light gray ash. Full, rich flavors that never become harsh or too overwhelming. Shows off lots of leather, dark chocolate, charred cedar and some slightly sweet espresso and heavy cream. A nice, slow burn which resulted in a good 90 min. smoke. Great flavor and aroma right down to the nub. Have a hunch these would age real well for a year or more if you can make 'em last.

"Flavor flavor flavor"
I have smoked these wonderful cigars straight out of the box, and also after aging for different periods. Any way you cut it, these smokes always burn well, have a nice even ash, and most importantly, are always full of rich, wonderful full bodied flavor. In my cigar rotation they are the big ones I favor, when I have time to smoke it for over an hour. As a note, these cigars develop a great aroma as they age - I think the sign of great tobacco.

"A good stick but not a great stick"
I had one of these as a sampler deal that I bought. I had some reservations as I had a box of Punch After Dinner and I thought that they sucked. This was a very good cigar with a mellow flavor, good draw and a perfect burn. The flavor was good but can't compare to the Punch Puro or Rare Corojo sticks they put out. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy one of these but it was decent.

"Incredible Aged Cigar"
This is a follow up on the Chateau L Maduro Cigar I have aged for five Years. The cigar has aged incredibly well—and I must say surprisingly well. It is a well made, dark, and rough appearing cigar in appearance. It lit well, drew perfectly, and ashed crisply out of the box. Each cigar has always been consistent one to the next. Prior to aging it was at times overpowering and a "no nonsense cigar." It was great to have occasionally at the end of the day and after a heavy meal or when I had enough time for a long smoke. Prior to aging it was not very flavorful with strait tobacco flavor with a hint of cedar. I enjoyed them but only smoked them occasionally. I purchased three boxes of cigars just prior to my son’s birth and passed out two of the boxes to friends and family and saved one of the boxes for aging and smoked one every year on his birthday as well as other special occasions. Sentiment aside, following the aging of this cigar for about five years it is absolutely great. It lit perfectly, drew evenly, and produced a very aromatic smoke. The overpowering tobacco taste has mellowed and melded with the flavors of nuttiness, sweet cream, and a spicy cedar that I could really never taste before. My only regret is that I only have about half a box left and have to buy more cigars and wait and age them for another five years. I recommend them for anyone who has the time to wait about five years and later spend over an hour to smoke and enjoy these cigars.

"monstrous"
Wow! Powerful and I got sick as a dawg but it was one of the most wonderful, full flavored ones I've ever had. Took me almost 2 hours too. Have a little cubed sugar nearby to take the edge off before it's too late!

"Holy Smoke!"
This large cigar was great and a very theraputic smoke. It took me well over an hour to smoke this bad boy. It was pungeant at the beginning, yet rounded off into a smooth yet full-bodied flavor. There was a top-note of sweet leather and a cedar-wood finish. Nice white-layered ash and a clean finish. Smoked this baby right down to the end and had a pretty nice buzz going. The draw was a powerhouse, w/ large volumes of smoke. Be sure to sit down and relax when you smoke this one.

"top notch maduro!"
I smoked one of these to celebrate the 1/2 way point of my college life. This cigar was the first I had smoked in over a month, and had aged in my humidor for well over 6 months. The smelled nice, and looked very attractive, with a dark, even wrapper. The construction was firm and bulky, you could tell this stick meant business. The cigar lit easily, and from puff 1 was excellent. As I smoked it for a long period of time, I was amazed at how well it smoked. The ash was tight and consistent, only falling off when you tap it. The smoke was thick and aromatic and seemed to be just right. The cigar builds from medium to full bodied, and as you get toward the end, it gets pretty stout. Overall, it was an excellent cigar, and I will throw another in the humidor for another special occasion.

"Excellent"
I just finished a box of 25 of these which were given to me Christmas of 2003. Dark and imposing these cigars only got better & mellower with time in the humidor. Wonderfully constructed with an easy draw & even burn. Medium to full bodied in strength but never harsh. To me this is an ideal winter time cigar to be smoked indoors as it's pretty hefty and complex. Outstanding value at around $100/box but probably not for beginners.

"Nice big cigar"
Nice long burn on this one made it a smoke that lasted. Medium bodied smoke with lots of rich flavor after the first inch. The maduro wrapper looked a little rough but burned like a champ.

"Well made Punch"
The wrapper had a ruff appearance, but gave off a great pre-light aroma, and had a very dark maduro color. The best part about this cigar was the construction. For being such a large cigar the draw, burn, and ash were just excellent (age helps this out). The first few puffs were very powerful but quickly settled down with a mild spiciness. Medium in strength overall. There are better tasting Punch cigars. If you like big cigars go with this one.

"Overhyped."
This maduro wrapper was somewhat blemished, other than that solid appearance. The draw was very tight, and ruined the taste. I will be staying away from these.

"Great Taste less filling!"
These cigars are one of the best deals on the market. The draw is good, a little tight but easily manageable. The cigar is very well constructed with a beautiful maduro wrappper that adds a touch of sweetness. The cigar burns great and starts with a sweet spicyness that mellows to a cream as you smoke the cigar while maintaining slight spicyness. This is a go-to cigar and will always be part of my humidor.

"Punch Chateau L Maduro"
This cigar is probably the best one I can go out and get. Almost every tobacco store with a humidor carries it. There is a reason for that. If you have luck with Fuentes, this is your kinda cigar. For a Maduro, you will be hard pressed to find a better cigar at this size and price.

"Outstanding!"
This cigar is a great one. Especially the Double Maduro. For my money, this one and the Hoyo de Monterrey Sultan Dbl Mad. are more consistent on draw, construction and flavor than the Excalibur # 1 Maduro which has been inconsistent lately. Spend your money on these puppies instead. You won't be sorry.

"No Nonsense cigar"
One of my favorite smokes. It is a solid and no nonsense cigar and best for the price. It is a long and smooth smoke. It is well constructed and a clean smoke and the first cigars I bought by the box.
