"Ageing Helps"
Tried once two years ago right out of the box when it arrived- was not impressed. Sat two years in the cabinet and tried another. Time does this cigar justice. A nice spicey taste and excellent burn and aroma. Several more years will do it a lot of good.

"A Nice Treat"
I have to say these cigars are one of my favorites. I have yet to have one with poor construction, and every one so far has had a great even burn, good draw, and solid ash. The flavor is somewhat sweet on the tip, with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, slightly cedary, but not overpowering. Towards the end, there is a hint of cayenne pepper and something that reminds me of paprika. This is a good everyday smoke to sit back and relax with after a hard day's work. They tend to start as a medium bodied cigar and finish close to a full bodied one.

"Get 'em while they last"
My guy at Fume in Montclair, NJ says they are discontinuing this brand, any truth to this? It has been a great seller over the years and definitely a great value cigar.

"good one"
i work at the local cigar shop and bossman told me i should try this one... he doesnt like anything from punch except the rare corojo, so, naturally, the only punch cigar we carry is the rare corojo... i would call it a good every day smoke... not quite a "it's friday!" smoke or a special occasion cigar, but just simply a good one... i dont know the msrp, but we sell them for $7, so that's not bad... a medium strength and a good bit of flavor makes it something id come back to... my only complaint is that once upon a time i had one that made me mad... i was at the cigar store looking for a good cigar and i smoked an acid, which didnt satisfy... then i smoked a punch rare corojo and it had a tight draw and it kept going out... every dingle time id try to take a draw i had to puff on it a few times to get it going again... i put it down out of frustration about an inch into the cigar and not 30 seconds later it was out and cold... i didnt find a knot or anything in it... maybe it was just a bad one

"A fav at the local shop"
Not a big fan of the Punch lines (unless it's a Cuban) but this cigar is one exception, and maybe one of my favorites to get from time to time. Nice oily reddish wrapper with few flaws and very nice sweet flavor for the first half and the second it gets spicy with hints of cedar. Nice even burn & had very few to no relights. The draw on this cigar is perfect as well. I would suggest this cigar to just about anyone.

"Spice and leather"
Good firm construction withh nice draw and burn. The wrapper is oily, reddish brown, and smooth. The cigar starts out on the spicey side and soon turns to smooth leather. Cedar flavors come through at the finish. I would rate this a medium bodied cigar with complex flavors.

"Hearty with plenty of taste"
I must say that this cigar has got a great profile. My one-word adjective for this cigar is leathery. Don't let that scare you off though because this cigar is well made and has a nice naturally sweet taste after one year of aging in my humi. I've heard other reviews recommend aging these guys, so I would say do the same since these guys have quite a strong edge on them as it is. Very tasty!

"Excellent, but not best."
Unfortunately, Ecuadorian wrapper isn't as resilient as Cuban. I had a few imperfections in my wrapper, which lead to an uneven burn in a few places. Almost perfect draw and a decent flavor made for an enjoyable time.

"Pretty good smoke..."
Although I enjoyed this smoke, there didn't seem to be anything special about it. It had a nice draw, decent flavor, but it wasn't a cigar that I would go out of my way to smoke again. Nice construction, a handsome cigar, but overall an average stick.

"I need another, quick"
I wanted an alternative to cigarettes, so a friend told me to try cigars. I had smoked some in the past but nothing but machine made. So I have now been sampling different cigars for the past three weeks when I came across this one. Wow...for the price it blows the AF Corona Imperial out of the water. It's box shape was unique for me so far and although it lit well, for the first quarter it was hard to draw. After that it settled down rather nicely and accompanied by some nice scotch, I sat out on the patio for an hour and a half puffing away. I didn't want to put it down! After finishing off the scotch and smoking this stick down to my fingers, I finally, sadly, had to set it down. I will have to get another to see if it is the same before going out and buying a box. Very mild to medium flavor, not too rough around the edges, ash went to about the size of a wine cork before it popped. Subtle buttery feeling on my lips as I smoked and as I said, I felt sad to put it down.

"Boring cigar"
I bought one a few month ago at a cigar bar in NY put in my humidor for six month. A sweet tasting and not very complex ciger, just very boring.Burns hot and draw is too loose. Smoke a half of it and put it out. Not a good cigar.

"Over-hyped mediocre cigar"
My local cigar store loves these and promotes them, so I've smoked several of them each year and I just don't get it. For me, they burn hot and "dry." The flavor is mostly just pepper and more pepper, with little complexity or richness. For me, these are "strong" rather than "full flavored." Not a good cigar.

"a fine smoke"
I tried one of these at my local smoke shop and was immediately taken by this one. It's aroma and taste are very good with lots of floral smoke. The draw is perfect IMO and the burn was without flaw, showing a nice white ash. It is a medium to full bodied cigar which gets better as it goes along. Very tasty and is time well spent. I plan to make these a regular part of my humidor. They are priced good as well for a punch. They are not easy to get because they are very good.

"Nice beginning."
Smoked one last night on New Year's evening. I purchased it in October and let it rest. Very nice cigar in taste, burn, draw and appearance. Flavors of coffee, sweet wood and medium bodied tobacco, with hints of leather. I didn't sense the the fruit others referred to. A very good smoke in every way except it could have had more strength and complexity. A good $3 smoke, but not the $5 I paid.

"Nice looking box press"
This cigar looked very good with a solid box press. Burn was good through the first ash but then had to be fixed several times. Flavor was remarkabley salty with creamy smoke and some chocolate notes. Overall a good smoke for the price and medium bodied.

"A Very Fine Smoking Experience"
Just opened a sealed box I purchased at least four years ago. I have been smoking the robustos, from a box I purchased at the same time. What a delicious, smooth smoke. Burned ever so slow and even, bursting with flavors of tangy fruit traits. Box pressed to perfection, the slow, cool burn provides a very leathery texture of smoke. The amount of smoke I was able to partake in adds to the value. Pick up a box, if you have the means. Otherwise, try to buy a couple of singles, and put one to rest for a special occasion. Quite a treat.

"Nice"
Average price paid 14 bucks? Somebody is getting ripped off.
This is a decent cigar, but sadly the "Rare Corojo" doesn't indicate the cigar has a corojo wrapper, because it doesn't. Ecuadorian Sumatra .... so why Corojo in the name? Rare I can handle. Marketing: 2 drink minimum.
In any case, this is a nice smooth cigar with earthy Honduran flavors

"A good looking cigar"
This stick was very nice with good appearance and big smoke. The very first note was of spice and then came some toasty notes. The foot lit well and held a salt and pepper ash. All in all not a bad smoke to have in your humidor.

"A favorite full bodied and spicy smoke"
I first tried this cigar when it was introduced and was taken with it. Ever since I've made a point to reserve a box.
Wonderful aroma that will get interest from cigar lovers and everyone else in proximity. The spice of the cigar is one of it's standout qualities, just the unlit cigar against your lips and tounge has more flavor than most cigars on the market. I suggest enjoying this cigar with either a light lemon liquor or just water to cleanse the pallet. Otherwise your drink may leave you less able to appricate the flavor.
Beware when cutting the cap on the head is smaller than some other cigars, if you take too much off it will unravel. Most cigar lovers know however to make the cut just short of the head's curve, so it's in no way a defect.

I always enjoy the Punch line-up. This is no exception. Dark, oily wrapper yields nice aroma and plenty of rich, luxurious smoke. Nice clean finish

Nice complex taste with a good burn. A little bit or work to draw, but it's prob. just a bad roll. Great nutty taste and left a slight tingle on my pallet

"2003 Batch"
Unfortunatly these vary from year to year. This years batch for the dozen or so sticks I've smoked has been superb. Medium bodied, excellent flavor and an even burn. The only cigar I like better is a AF Hem. Classic.

"Disappointing,"
More hype than substance here, unfortunately. The biggest complaint is inconsistency -- some of the wrappers fall off immediately on touching the cigar; a friend who purchased another box noticed the same thing. Of those that are not poorly constructed, the taste is decent -- a mild/medium smoke, good draw, but not too much character. Bottom line: for the same money, one can do much better.
