Not quite what I expected. The draw was tight and the flavor a bit weak. I think with some age they might improve a bit.

This may very well be the best "bang for the buck" cigar on the market today. It is a winner in all regards..buy a box, you'll love them (and the price)..Bravo Punch!

"great cigar, just not my taste"
This was a beautifuly constructed cigar. This cigar looks and smells great. The only reason I wouldnt smoke these all the time is the Corojo is not for me. I dont care for the Corojo flavor this cigar started off with a harsh flavor but mellowed a touch after the first 1/2 inch. Im sure that for someone who appreciated corojo would be very happy with this smoke.

"very tasty"
very nice cig, I enjoyed with a nice shcotch. good burn with a nutty leathery taste that stayed very consistant thoughout the smoke. It got a little spicey toward the last third of the stick. but the spiceyness was good because it gave this little fellow some depth, I wish it was a tad longer though. I think that average rating is right on for this one. I wasn't disapointed inn this little babe at all. was well worth the expeirence.

Very well constructed with a very good draw and excellent burn. Taste was spicy and leathery. Full bodied but taste was a bit one dimensional.

"OK, if you like really mild cigars"
Beautiful medium-dark wrapper. Square press could have been a little better–only 2 sides were truly flat, a little uneven. Well constructed, easy draw, even burn, nice light ash. Unfortunately, not much going on in the way of flavor. Flat, cottony tasting smoke. Very faint walnut flavor. Nothing objectionable though. If you enjoy mild cigars, perhaps you'd like it. Smoked like a dream, too bad the taste was so dull. I much prefer the regular Punch robusto in EMS.

"Pretty good"
Got one of these from my local and let it sit for about three weeks or so. This is my first Punch so I didn't really know what to expect. Pretty good looking stick with a nice amount of oils coming off of it. Wrapper felt leathery to the touch but construction wise was really fragile. After cutting it began to flake off a little bit around the head. Nothing major though. Lit up and was presented with, well, tobacco flavor. Nothing really standing out on the palate. Throughout the smoke there were occasional notes of sweetness and nuts but they were few and far between. On the last third an odd pencil lead taste began to come out on the finish. Medium bodied overall. Burn was fine as was the draw. Didn't have to make any corrections which is always a plus for me. Overall, this was a pretty average smoke. Will probably try another one sometime in the future but won't pay more than the $4.25 I did for this one.

"2nd time not the charm"
Great burn and cigar didn't turn on me until only about an inch and a half left. Can't say much more. taste was not remarkable - some chocolate, slightly spicy but not too much of anything. Many better cigars are out there.

"Very good cigar."
Had this at a cigar patio. I hesitate to pay the price, but I had no cigars. This one did not dissapoint. A bit boxy, but a good basic smoke. Very mild. Nice draw with a pleasant flavor. Not at the top of my list, but not a dog by any stretch of the imagination.

"Good smoke"
Box pressed smoke with generally solid construction. Band is rather blase. Somewhat pleasantly surprised. Medium flavored and even burn. Good taste profile, with straightfwd good taste, which was somewhat sweet and good assortment of spices. This stick was gifted to me and after seeing the price, I think it's a value. Recommend to those looking for a good value medium flavored smoke. Only downside is that I found it rather one dimensional on taste.

"Not a punch, more like a slap"
A rigidly box pressed beauty that delivers more mild than medium coffee flavor. A touch of earth and spice to round out a nice flavor profile. Never offensive to the palate and leaves very little tobacco aftertaste. This rothschild seems to go fast and dropped ash in two inch chunks. A good amount of smoke and burned well. Except for a crack in the wrapper on one I smoked, the construction seemed very good. Value scores high and the flavor could please a broad range of cigar smokers.

"A lot of bang for the buck!!!!"
This is a great little cigar to keep in your humi!!! The box pressed cigar seems smaller than its size, but when you light up this little beauty it is a never ending flavor bomb. It starts out earthy and spice and the first third can be sometimes intense, the second third mellows out and a somewhate coffee/pepper comes forward, the final third mellow and becomes coffee with a hint of cedar. this cigar is one you will always smoke down to your fingers. the ash is a medium grey and very solid. If you can keep them for about a year they are some of the most enjoyable smokes you can find. I enjoy also after smoking this cigar you always have a fairly clean pallet, with very little after taste ( so does my wife). A bargan at $3 also. the cigar lasts for a long time considering its size about 45 min. Its one of my all time favorites and I hope yours.

"too mild"
I've been wanting to try everything Corojo lately and did so try this Punch even though I am not a huge fan. Taste was grassy. Mild to medium bodied. Just not enough flavor there for me. Excellent construction & burn. I'll pass on it next time.

"Rare Corojo 2006"
The Punch Rare Corojo has become my go to cigar. I enjoy the spice and Grassy Tastes. I noticed that hey do tend to vary a bit from box to box and some time in the humidor is never a bad thing. I like these better than the regular line of Honduran Punch Rothchilds cigars.

"One of the best."
I never liked the Punch line. I bought a box of Punch After Dinner Maduro and I didn't like the harshness and lack of real flavor. These were like day and night. I thought the Rare corojo were a great medium body smoke, great draw, plenty of smoke and a spicey flavor that rolls off the tongue. I am planning on buying more.

"Definitely a Punch."
Different wrapper and nearly 2 years age cannot hide the Punch flavor. You could blindfold a Punch smoker and he would know immediately what he was smoking. Those of us that appreciate the flavor and kick of the brand love these. The rest of you probably expected a completely different cigar. As for me, it's great. A steely, flinty taste to start giving way to some leather and coffee with a med-full smoke. I don't know about 2 years ago, but it's a helluva smoke now.

"I love corojos...usually"
Okay, I smoked this over a lunch break, and I sucked it down a little too fast. I tried it because I love the corojo leaf, but it seemed a little one-dimensional. It had good flavor, but that became sheer power about halfway through. I really like the aftertaste and the burn was spot on. If I had a little more time to smoke it properly I'm sure it would have been better. I'd still buy it again because it's rare now to find a good med-full cigar for $3.

"so so"
I didnt get the spicyness everyone else talked about, was pretty weak to be honest. It could have been from all the burn issues I had with it. Tunneling, didnt want to stay lit, I'll let the other sit a bit and try again.

"an improvement from last year"
i liked them enough last year, they were cheap, and i love box pressed robustos. Punch also has nice insigna, which adds to the whole experience for me. But to be honest i found them a little harsh, or grassy, at times. But this year the wrapper leave tastes exceptionally better. Sweet and earthy. Now its a cigar that i really enjoy and intend to stock up on. Always good sturdy construction and burn. And Punch really seemed to do its homework in developing the blend for the filler. What you get is an expectedly complex and flavorful smoke, for a bargain.

"Standard fare for fly-fishing and rowing"
I like these as a good, solid everyday cigar. They are perfect for fly-fishing, rowing/floating and smoking around the campfire:
1) they are short so they don't get in the way (melting your $60 floating fly line in the middle of a hatch sucks...I know)
2) If they fall in the water or are otherwise ruined..oh well, $2 down the tubes
3) If your leech-friends/campmates beg you for a couple because they "forgot theirs" (they always do) - no biggie steal a beer and you're even steven
4) they ain't bad tasten, they ain't too expensive

"Decent, but prefer regular line"
This smoke was alright... I love the Punch Rothschild so thought I might like this one but it gave too much of a wood taste to it. Construction was nice, but I don't like box-pressed cigars. I think some more age would enhance its flavors and lack of depth.

"OK"
I've tried just about all the Punch varieties, and it always seems to me like they pretty much all taste the same. Punch tastes like a Punch--rather strong, spicy and woody, definitely Honduran tasting. The Corojo wrapper, although interesting, doesn't really add that much difference to warrant the extra price. Construction and burn were OK. Punch cigars, I hate to say it, kind of bore me. They just don't have anything to remember them by.

"OK"
Not a bad cigar, but FAR from a great one. Construction was excellent. Wrapper was of excellent quality and had no serious flaws. Cut cleanly. Upon first lighting it, it had a strong woodsy taste, but quickly mellowed out into a very mild, slightly leatherly taste...perhaps a little bit of a spicey finish. Burn was a bit uneven durring the complete burn, but usually corrected itself out pretty quickly. Draw was smooth and very easy...almost too easy infact. Ash was a very very light grey color, almost white but was very firm and didnt fall off till about 2 inches. Not a bad smoke at all, but for 5+ bucks a stick, there are better out there.

Smoked 2 and both were surprisingly good. Burn was slightly uneven but corrected itself towards the end. Not too familier w/ Corojo wrappers but this Punch was smooth and had a nice flavor as well. No retouching needed. Can't believe people paid $7.00/stick (on the average). It's a great stick for under $5.00.

"1st try"
Bought at a tobacco shop on a road trip and decided to spark it right out of the humidor. Very good flavors and adequate strength, especially at 10 a.m. Corojo wrapper added something special to the tried and true Punch flavor. Except for the burn problems I would "Highly Recommend" this one.

"Make Room In The Humi!"
Pleasantly suprised with this little guy. Oily wrapper that has a nice color and feel. (Nice band to boot) The size makes it perfect for quick smoke situations. Fruity flavors the first 1/4 inch that trailed spicy. This cigar has a long finish so you can contemplate taste. Hints of black cherry towards the end. SLOW DELIBERATE BURN that produces stubborn ashes that don't break off easily. I let this sit for 6 months before lighting up. 30 minutes well spent!

"Not as good as the DM"
This cigar caught my eye at the pipe shop, sitting next to the Punch Double Maduro (DM) Rothschild. The DM is a superb smoke, and an excellent value, I thought the corojo might be the same. The wrapper was a rough and blotchy, but well constructed, and even a little toothy. The flavor started mild and chocolaty like the DM, but with some underlying bite. I thought I had found a fuller body DM, but at the ½ way point everything started going down hill. The flavor started turning sour, then bitter, and finally I put it down with about 1” left. The DM can be smoked to the nub without ever turning, but this one is only smokeable to the ring. I recommend the Punch Double Maduro Rothschild over these.

"Wonderfull!"
Punch is my favorite brand, and this is the best of the Punches that I have smoked! Construction was smooth and firm, one of the prettiest cigars that I have seen. Burn was perfect, and the taste was strong but not harsh. I prefer this cigar, in both looks and taste, to anything out there, including the Opus X. How Punch can make such consistantly good cigars at such a reasonable price is beyond me.

"Nothing special"
I had high hopes for this cigar given the hype of the newish Corojo wrappers, but I was pretty disappointed. Overall a medium body with a nice toasty flavor and hints of spices and leathery tones, but after the first 2 inches it developed a sort of metallic "dirty" flavor similar to Don Diegos. Very non-typical for Punch.

"What Elk said"
These define for me what Honduran cigars taste like. They are pretty box pressed, with nice wrappers. Earthy-leather taste predominate. Not a flavor profile that I am in love with, but I do enjoy the smooth flavors and make sure I always have some stocked away. Nice cigars when in the $4 price range, $7 is too much.

"Unique and sweet"
A Rosado like wrapper so smooth it looks like it was ironed on and the twin red and gold bands of the Rare Corojo edition made this cigar pretty as a picture. Cuadrado pressed and packed tight in the box, it was hard to pry this gem loose. Once out the flawless, oily wrapper was silky to the touch and the cigar smelled faintly of spice, slightly reminiscent of good pipe tobacco. Under the press the construction was excellent, and the clip revealed an easy draw.
A slight hint of paraffin accompanied the initial puffs and soon relented to the spicy and satisfying Honduran profile that Punch is known for. Medium bodied, building to medium full, this cigar produced large clouds of mouth filling smoke, perfect for smoke rings. A nicely formed ash clung tightly, and the aroma was intoxicating with a warm whiskey tinted note to it. As it burned the cigar swelled to a nice round shape at the burn, perfectly spongy at that juncture, but it stayed firm and tight at the head.
Paired with a diet cola, the cigar delivered a nice tangy counterpoint to the sweetness with a slightly lighter, but equally satisfying, flavor profile than its double maduro cousin. Apparently perfectly blended, aged, and humidified, the cigar rested comfortably for several minutes between puffs with no problems, and the lovely finish filled in the gaps admirably.
Not a novelty as some of the trendy annual release offerings tend to be, overall this is a very fine example of a well blended and well presented cigar. Unique in the Punch line for its square press and reddish Sumatran wrapper, this is a wonderful and well priced cigar. Highly recommended.

This was the blindsmoke from Enyafan. Somewhat rustic but nice looking smoke. Was four years old. Light on the spice but consistantly spicey throughout. Great flavor of well aged tobacco - very nice.
