These are some the best habanos I've had in recent years. They are aged a couple years and deliver subtle but complex flavors.

This is one of the best Cuban Double Coronas ! When properly aged, it is a Powerhouse, full of subtle flavors. Unfortunately, they don't make cigars like this (quality) anymore !

"Tasty and Sweet"
Tangy, creamy and sweet wrapped up in one big smoke. With a kick on the end that reminds you where this comes from. Highly recommended. With its size and flavor, cannot be beat at $11 a stick

"morning to afternoon"
part of a complete breakfast! this was a creamy complex cigar with sweet wood flavors and a delicate, thin draw. Rewarding with its complexity and encore- the second half opens up for a beautiful finale

nice smoke for the size, the Allones line never fails as one of Cubas best botique brands

"Beautiful Beast"
I have long smoked mainly Petite Coronas and Robustos. Finally I caved and grabbed a selection of various brands large vitolas (Partagas, San Cristobal, Robainia, Upmann and these). I received maybe 2 or 3 of each. This Allones was the winner. A beautiful beast of a stick witht he profile flavors of the RASS only lasting at least an hour longer. Voluminous puffs of flavorful smoke, good draw, nice strength but not overpowering. I do not know the age or factory of origin on the cigars I tasted so it makes it difficult making a good appraisal of them all. The Upman Monarca has been nice and I am aging the two I have left. The Lusitania was excellent but I prefer the flavor profile of this Allones, it being a bit deeper, stronger and richer. Nearly two hours of good earthy, smooth smoke.

"Not bad"
Although I have had better ten dollar smokes, this one had a nice smooth flavor that kept my interest through the uneven burn and rough foot. Better than the last cuban I tried.

"Very sweet taste..."
Perhaps most intriguing about this cigar is the intense sweetness in the smoke. Some reviews have described the Gigantes as having a honey-like flavor, which I agree with. Visually this is a beautiful double corona sized cigar. The wrapper leaf is slick with oil when you touch it, but very hard/stiff to the touch. The hardness gave me some indication that it might be plugged. Unfortunately, it was slightly difficult to draw on. Despite this construction flaw, the flavor that came through was well worth it. Medium strength with a balanced refreshing flavor. I'm looking forward to buying a box of Ramon Allens Gigantes in the future and hoping that none of them are plugged.

"One of the best"
Absolutely a top notch cigar. Well made, smooth and creamy most of the way with a little kick at the last 1/3. I have smoked maybe 10 out of my box and even the 1 with a plug problem was tasty. I love this smoke! I dont smoke many churchills but when I do, its the RAG

"Classic"
Beautiful long cigar that you need some time to savor. I've smoked the second one in as many days and can say that I need more. Medium body, nice smooth taste, purged a couple of times to regain the smoothness but in all a very enjoyable smoke with nice burn and excellent draw.

"Favorite of all Cubans"
I have been privy to quite a few Cubans fortunately and I must say, these are my absolute favorite, I enjoyed every one I had the pleasure to partake in out of our box. Incredible smoke, even burn and outstanding flavor. Takes the cake over our box of Esplendidos any day.

"WHAT A HERNIA I'VE GOT!"
Forget this one! Paid decent money and let sit for over a year and could not get a decent draw at all.Though I am persistent I had to chuck this one away. Beatiful looking but thats it.No quality contol draw test on this cigar but I've had the same problem with all Ramon Allones.

"Look out, Hoyo de Monterrey"
These babies are fantastic. Flawless construction, nice draw, oily wrappers that glow in the box, perfect draw...wonderful.

The taste is strong but very pleasant. Not a whole lot of spice, but nutty and complex. Not quite as fruity and heavy as a Romeo y Julieta EL double corona.

They don't necessarily get bitter. I think that depends on the age, the humidity, and how you smoke them.

Truly excellent; right up there with the much-milder Hoyos.

I have to say this was a nice smoke, but for the price of the cuban tag I don't think it fits what I like to smoke to well. But other than my preffering other gars this meet a high standard in construction ,burn, and value versu other cubans

"Now, this is Cuban!"
A pleasure to smoke from first to last puff. Very similar to a well-aged Hoyo Double Corona, medium strength and full flavor with an even burn. Silky and oily reddish brown wrapper, firm construction, yet perfect draw.
Lots of creamy smoke with mixed nutty flavors that keeps changing throughout the smoke.

"It's okay, but not great."
Don't understand the allurement of this stogie. Wife bought me one while in England. Smoked
it and was really disappointed (especially since she spent about $30.00 for it). I'll take a La Gloria Churchill or Padron Churchill or Purose Indios #4 ANY DAY, over this cigar.

"A majestic prominente"
Gigantes of recent production (box Sep - Nov 2001) is somewhat lighter in strength and flavour that one would expect. Nonetheless this is still a complex Havana with a light floral aroma and fairly easy draw. A good day time Double Corona, but can be a let down after a heavy meal. A majestic prominente that benefits from some aging which when on are medium strength and full flavored with a good draw. Unparalleled performance.
