Rocky Patel Cuban Blend Petite Belicoso

Is it good? Yes. Does it deserve Cuban-blend status? No. This is a Honduran smoke, which is nothing to be ashamed of. So, Rocky, call it Honduran-blend and be proud. A smooth smoke that has undertones of earth and wood. Nice price too.

I just got a 5 pack of these beauties 2 weeks ago, and driving home from an extremely wet weekend of elk hunting in the shadow of Mt. St. Helens, I decided to console myself with a nice cigar. The wrapper on the mini-belicoso is a wonder, very dark and a bit toothy, but not with that overcured maduro taste. Aroma is good, nicely cedary, pretty strong, but not unbearable. Good for around 2" of quality flavor. Burn was very unusual; it crowned (ash curling outward), then steadied after the first inch. The weather was freaky that evening, which may have had something to do with the strange burn. I'm reserving final judgment on these for now, but they certainly are beautiful, and what a great shape!
