"I actually like this Rocky"
As anyone who I smoke with can attest to I am not a fan at all of Rocky Patel's cigars. The last one I tried was a vintage 92 that tasted like I was smoking a block of cedar. I do however like the edge sumatra. When someone tried to gift me this smoke I at first refused until I was told that it uses the same wrapper as the edge sumatra, aka the exception to the rocky rule.

In short I really enjoyed this cigar. Even prelight I smelled a lot of baking spices which made my mouth water. The smoke was fairly one note but tasty. There was some leather, wood and coffee, but what I really enjoyed was the spice. I am not a huge fan of the black pepper spice which I taste in almost all of pepin's offerings, but a mellow, baking spice instead.

I don't think that I will pick up a box or anything but it might be nice to have a fiver or so around if I get a craving for this again.

"Rocky's best blend so far."
I'm not exactly a big RP fan. I've smoked a lot of his cigars, but generally find them ranging from good (Vintage 90/92, Edge) to decent (Old World Reserve) to absolutely vile (R4, Fusion). But the Decade is definately a winner. It's straight as an arrow medium body/strength cigar. But the flavor is very creamy and smooth. I have no idea where people are getting the spice/pepper in the Decade since I can't taste any of that. All I ever get is just woodsy creaminess. It's one of the few cigars that I can snork (blowing smoke out through the nose) from start to finish without feeling like my sinuses need to be scrubbed.

The only knock is that The Decade is simply not a $8+ cigar. At the $8+ mark, it's competing with Tatuaje Reservas & Ashton VSGs and no, The Decade can't compete in that price point. Priced at $4 to $5, this would be an excellent cigar. As it is, it's not the best value.

"Rich, full flavored cigar"
Smoked my first Decade at a local cigar shop today. Super rich flavor with leather, espresso and more. Medium body start and a fuller finish, but nothing overwhelming. The final third tasted of black pepper with a long, rich finish. I didn't have anything to drink, and I would have liked to clear my palate occasionally due to the richness. The wrapper was beautiful, and the burn was perfect, as was the draw. I still prefer The Edge, Vintage '92, and definitely the OWR corojo to this excellent cigar.

"Worth every penny"
This cigar was simply awsome. The draw was the best I've ever experienced. The flavor was probably among the top 3 cigars I've ever smoked. The appearance was impeccable with its dark oily and box pressed look. The one drawback was that it burned uneven and started canoeing however that was easilly fixed with a quick relight.

"RP again and again"
Rocky puts out a new cigar every other week it seems. This one is supposed to have some sort of sentimental value since it commemorates 10 years of decent cigar making. This is not really the one I would have picked. Not that it is a bad cigar, but the flavors are average and the packaging is less appealing than the vintage series. Flavors are a bit musky, but may improve with humidor time.

"Not a 95"
Seems like a smoke that MIGHT age well. I hated the first inch and the rest was ok. I'm not too good a describing flavors so I won't. But deserving a 95 rating - I don't think so... I'm no James Suckling but I'd give it about an 87.

"An ok cigar..."
An easy draw and decent looking wrapper, but not my first choice in flavor. A bit of bitterness that may improve with age. Otherwise very earthy and leathery. A bit of spice.

"Good"
A rich smoke with hearty flavors. I don't recall the details of the profile, (I had it while traveling a couple weeks ago), but it was very enjoyable.

"Great smike but needs some more time to smoth"
This was a very nice cigar that can use a bit of time in the humidor. I enjoyed it but think 6 months will really round it off

"Good smoke"
Picked up one of these before CA handed this blend a 95. Good thing to since about two days after that my local was completely sold out. Nice looking cigar with a dark, oily wrapper. Had a rounded box press and was lightly veined. Burn was perfect as was the draw. Spicy smoke with flavors of leather and earth. At the 1/2 way point a sweet vanilla taste appeared on the finish but was gone after a few draws. Occasional harshness/bitterness would appear but nothing too bad. Full bodied. Overall, I liked this cigar but think it would do better with some age. You can almost taste that it would be better with about another 6-8 months in the humi. Still recommend that you try but if you can afford it definitely buy two so you can have one to put away.

"let it age"
This smoke needs time to gain the the flovors and finish that RP puts out. The construction was good and foot lit even . The burn was slow and gave a good solid salt and pepper ash. The taste was medium and had notes of some wood and a little spice, yet the finish was of cardboard and bland.

"Pleasant suprize"
I hadn't had any Rocky's for a while and I was looking for something different that I hadn't tried yet so I gave it a shot and boy was I happy I did. It was a pretty mild smoke but it had a lot of nice flavors a great draw and no burn issues just another great cigar to the Rocky lineup.

"good but not complex"
Excellent draw and burn. Flavor was nicely sweet but that was about it. No other real flavor jumped out. It was a tad on the mild side but the thick amount of smoke it had made that part manageable. Very well constructed and great looking.

"rich yes, complex? not yet"
Tried it and liked it but it needs some time before it's smooth and complex. Spicy cigar with very thick tasty smoke and a sweet finish. Ash held strong for about 3"! Slight bitterness at times but I sometimes attribute that to my smoking method when I'm nursing an ash. I tend to smoke a little faster and I also think a cigar with a long ash instead of a cherry doesn't taste quite right. In either case I'm surprised the tobaccos are 10 years old. Still, a fine cigar that should be tried by all Rocky fans.
