"Amazing RP for a car ride"
this is probably the best cigar for a 40 experience. It burns and finishes better than the vintage 92 mini perfecto (of which I am also a fan) The vintage toro or torpedo is my preferred smoke by RP, but for the size, this is much better (better than the RP toro I feel)! It has top notch construction and you can nub it even in the AM with a cup of coffee. the aging already realized in the leaves will combine and mellow even more if you let them sit for a couple months. It is currently my absolute favorite 40 min smoke out there, cannot be beat. But alas, I've only been smoking for three years and have only tried a few hundred different smokes. Take that as you will. Best smoking regards, Vince.

"seriosly mellowed out with age"
aged 2 years.-appearance--nicely applied wrapper.very few veins.-construction--this cigar had a even burn.but the draw was a little too loose.-flavor--this cigar has mellowed out considerably.it still is a peppery cigar but not nearly as strong.-value--pretty good value.worth it.-overall--i think these are a little better when they are younger.

"3 month follow up"
OH as I said I am not a big RP fan, especially the American Market lable. But as with most cigars I try I let them sit a while and do a follow up. Originally I like this cigar one of the best by RP. After aging I almost love this cigar. Taste has really grown and it is a very nice Corojo. Not JDN or Gran Habano (both cigars in the same price range) but a very nice full flavor smoke. Even smooth, beautiful construction with a nice rich flavor. Do your self a favor buy a box smoke a few and let them sit. I will buy another box for future and hope to see what six months to a year will do for these.

"Let this rest for a month..."
and the cigar was full of great corojo flavor. Coffee, cream and spice just to name a few. Love the size. Took me 45min to smoke. This is my fav of the entire Edge line because of the great concentration of flavors but it remains balanced and smooth to the end. Light side of full body. Great!

"Hands Down Favorite"
This is my favorite cigar yet I've never did a review on it even though I'm pushing 70 reviews on this site.
Anyhow, theres two types of smokers that I've noticed in my short smoking career. The guys who actually go for taste and don't give a flying "eff who's name is on the label. The others are the guys who declare Fuente the best simply because thats what the sheep in their management hierarchy at the office says. Oh and the price has to be $15+ per smoke. Their humidor is like an ad for CA magazine....Fuente, Padron, Hansotia, Huppman, etc. Idiots.
This cigar line if for the former.
Guys like Rocky Patel, Christian Eiroa, Jon Drew, etc are guys who have the guts to take chances and not be satisfied just selling to sheep who buy on snob appeal. They make flavorful, tasty and unique cigars at a reasonable price. The Edge is one of those.
its an extremely flavorful cigar that, to me, is the epitome of what a Corojo/Ligero based smoke should be. No fancy labels, no fancy packaging (it actually comes in a rough hewn tri-corner box) and a great price. The little 5x48 Missle is the perfect size. Its has just enough balance so you can taste both the filler/binder and wrapper in equal measures. "Smooth & Mellow" is not part of this cigars M.O. . It's a strong little ass-kicker for those who like their cigars intense. They're good OTT but even a months sleep does wonders for The Edge.
Simply put, if you like dark sweet tobacco with a sharp kick on the finish then this is your best bet by far.

"lots of Hype"
Lots of Hype for a fairly average cigar. I am not into the look of the ash and sublte... anything. its a cigar and I want to smoke it not sleep with it.
Its dark, a little oily, nice and firm, lights draws and burns well.
Has good taste but is a medium bodied smoke at best. I would say this is a little above average and the RP I have smoked. As a disclaimer I think most RP's are trash and not woth the time to smoke one, so take this review for what it's worth. The simple fact that I liked it is amazing to me.

"Missile? How about the Bomb?"
Loved this cigar, a small torpedo (I mean missile no it actually was a small torpedo) and had power. Only had this in the humidor for a little less than a month. After less than an inch in I thought I was going to be sick from the nicotine kick in this corojo but the strength lightened up and I was able to enjoy it to the end. It had a lot of coffee-ish depth to its character early and added some sweet spice in and out of the whole cigar of a classic tobacco taste. Some short notes of butter in middle of cigar and also some cinnamon near end. Great draw with full body and a very acceptable and enjoyable palate feel for its acceptable price. Would definitely purchase a bundled box of these to enjoy and add some age.

"Unique"
The cigar is a mini belicoso having a dark oily corojo wrapper and sans band. It feels small in my hand and seems more like a 46 ring versus 48. I’d definitely like this cigar in a true belicoso size (5.25 x 52). There is a band around the foot of the cigar reading “The Edge” along with Rocky Patel. Its an attractive looking smoke with a firm bunching and uniform roll. There is a slight barnyard like prelight aroma. The firm tip, did not cut under the knife easily, but it did cut cleanly and allowed the cigar to produce a very easy draw with no discernable flavors.
The initial flavors are very smokey, with a toasted coffee and sweet cedar like flavor and just a touch of pepper. Eventhough the draw is easy, the cigar produced a nice volume of smoke. There is an enjoyable sweetness to the tobacco flavor and the cigar produced a sweet zesty aroma, very pleasant.
The cigar is no where near as strong and peppery as a Don Pepin and has a unique flavor all its own. Its woody, with cedar and an earthy sweetness. There is just a touch of zesty pepper but not a lot. Not quite loamy, but earthy with a strong cedar undertone. I’d like the draw to be a bit tighter but the smoke volume makes up for it. Its lighter and woodier than a Padilla Habano, but still med-full bodied and med strength.
The burn so far is very straight and produced a solid med gray ash. This is a great smoke for when you don’t want something extremely strong, but still crave something more than mild. A solid right side of medium, strong enough to satisfy my taste buds.
Approaching the end of the first third and I’m picking up some annise notes with a toasted cedar/floral undertone. Very unique and very enjoyable. The flavor makes me think occasionally of the HdM Rothschild MM. At the mid point, there are some definite strong cedar notes coming through. This cigar is very different from most of the smokes out there. Not a pepper bomb, but very cedary.
The last third remained pretty consistent with the overall flavor being woody and cedar notes. Overall very enjoyable and a definite must try.

"great smoke"
I find the edge to be a unique smoke - full bodied and very tasty but not overpowering. Lights, burns and draws well with lots of heavy smoke. Flavor earthy, woody, and full tobacco with a nice balance of spice. Great go-to smoke when you re in the mood for something full-bodied. Getting to be more popular which is driving the price up, but you can still get 'em for under $4 by the box or on auction.

"Nice."
Beautiful cigar. Nice even burn. Wood, earth and some spice. Did not get the peppery spice I read about-and that is good for me. Good cigar, Rocky Patel has not done me wrong yet. I was expecting a lot more power and strength from all of the hype, but got a good full flavor/bodied cigar.

"Rustic"
This is a good quick smoke with lots of wood and peppery notes. The wrapper was oily and had some veins to it. The foot lit even and burned with a salt and pepper ash. The taste was medium to full with lots of spicy pepper and wood just a good late day smoke.

I really loved this smoke. Easy draw, great burn. At one point the ash was over 2-inches. Have already ordered more of these!

"Small Explosion"
Great little cigar with the same characteristics of its big brother torpedo. Nice spicy flavor throughout, lots of smoke, good burn. Just right for that 45 minute drive..

"Another winner from Rocky"
Nice looking cigar except for a slight lumpiness near the cap. The Missle had a perfect draw and burn. An interesting flavor that draws mild and builds to a long spicy finish with a hint of pleasant bitter. A pleasure from start to finish.

"A real kicker for the price!"
This little stogie packs a whollup. Starts out strong, gets stronger with each puff. Great, full-bodied flavor that retains great taste the whole way through. Finger burner, you bet!
