"Great smoke"
In my opinion the strongest maduro edge. These are definitely full bodied and benefit a lot from some patience in the humidor. Solid construction perfect draw and boat loads of full flavors with great depth and character. A must try for full bodied maduro fans.

"Good Cigar"
Excellent draw and good burn. Strong and started leathery and peppery which lessened along the way but it became stronger with a more straightforward tobacco flavor. Very well constructed with a great, dark and oily wrapper. Even though this is a very strong cigar, I didn't think it was a knockout kind of strength some have described.

"give it some time"
i just smoked up one of these that i had aged for about a year. 1st, its a good looking cigar and it burned well and long. 2nd, i really enjoyed the flavor of this somewhat full bodied cigar; rich leather, almost a chestnut lightly - reminded me of eating a steak with worchestchier sauce.

"Getting there"
As I mentioned in my earlier review, this cigar was green...at fist. Now, it is a truer representation of what I expect from RP cigars. This is a full-bodied, but not strong offering that held together well. There are some knock off brand out there, beware. This is the best Mexi-gar that I've had to date.

"up n down"
Upon lighting this i got a nice flavor but as it settled it got a bit one dimensional. Part of the problem I believe is the lack of a wrapper (I could care less about a band). Even the best store glass front humidors are subject to wild fluctuations of humidity and dryness.
On the up side its solid like a rock but draws perfectly....about as good as any stick I've ever had. Construction is tight though its not gonna win any beauty contests. Give this about 6 months in a properly humidified box and I think it'll be one of Patels top products. oh, and the box is great looking.

"Got wood"
I hate to diss RP. As a matter of fact, I've enjoyed most everything from RP. The one I smoked had 1/8 inch stems, and tasted like smoking firewood. I took it apart and kept the stems in a glass tube. Kind of turn me sour toward RP quality control.

"Rocky is the Man"
This cigar is great. I just had one and it was perfect. Very Smooth, no change from start to finish. Very tastey with a strong cup of java. Hard to find online or at your local cigar shop. So The Edge has to be good. If found, better by a box.

"A good consistent smoke"
I like this vitola. I got a bundle about a month ago, and haven't been able to keep my hands off of them ever since. I have some of the Maduro Toros, and have smoked the Corojos too. IMO they are all excellent smokes. They have the kind of smooth fullbodiedness that appeals to me. The taste is great, and the construction is first rate. While it is complex, it is not overly so, with changes at each turn. No, it's not about that, it is a straightforward, flat out, good, strong, smooth smoke that invites you to come back again, and again. For the price I paid, I gladly smoke it, again and again.

"I love this cigar"
Not normally a fan of maduros, this Rocky Patel Edge Maduro has become one of my favorite cigars. Full of dark, smooth flavor, I've never had a bad puff. Earthy and rich, upfront flavor throughout the cigar. Just what I'd expect from it's rustic, old world look and feel.

"Nice"
Decent looking, burned and drew nice, I like the taste although noting stood out and kicked me in the arse. Good sub-5 bones smoke at my local, but there are many better.

"Revisited"
This seems to be a cigar that is "hit or miss". The last time I sampled one I was thoroughly disappointed (see earlier review). However, in an effort to see if this was a fluke, given the high regard that some have for this particular stick, I decided to revisit this one. The dark, oily, toothy wrapper with mild veins portended a rich full-bodied smoke. There was one soft spot near the middle of the cigar, but otherwise solid construction. Easy light. Good draw. Even burn. TONS of white smoke. Gray-black ash. Started with pepper and decayed wood. The first third brought forth tastes of rich earth and dark chocolate with a mild floral note. I was reminded of the smells of the woods after a good rain. The middle third saw flavors of charred meat, damp soil, and vegetal notes. The last third was fairly unremarkable, with paper, earth, and burnt tobacco. All in all, this 50 minute full-bodied smoke was not as disappointing as the first time I sampled it, but it sure didn't knock my socks off, or even raise my eyebrows for that matter. Perhaps I am missing the gene that allows me to enjoy this one as much as others. To each his own, I guess......

"wow"
this was a great little gar. Full of spice, yet smooth. Was complemented with a glass of Johnnie Walker.

"Rough Edges"
This was a decent smoke. It was a little harsh at times and a little grassy (needs aging?). However, this smoke had a good kick and enough complexity to keep RP's reputation intact.

"Good Smoke"
This cigar was a pleasure to smoke. I was hoping there would be a little sweetness in the maduro wrap, but there was not. The construction was A1. I noticed some woodsy and earthy flavors. I would buy more.

"Trample the weak..."
Strong cocoa ligero start, very slightly gritty and harsh throughout. I had to purge these a couple of times to relieve the obvious lack of tobacco aging, but they were really fairly smooth and consistent given the also obvious strength. The flavor was pretty decent and far better than the Toro Maduro (which tasted sorta like burning tires).

"Not for the Weak"
The missle is not for the novice smoker. It is an in your face little SOB loaded with Vitamin N. Do not fire one up one on an empty stomach. Think JDN Antano - on steroids!

"First Class Cigar"
If you like strong flavorable cigars, you must try this one. It is one of the very best full bodied cigars available. Excellant construction, extra-ordinary flavor. The naturally sweet flavor of the tobacco is not masked or hidden by the blending... the result is a great cigar at a reasonable price.

"sit down, relax and enjoy"
This is not for the mild mannered--it's a tasty, robust, spicy cigar. It's hard to describe as it's not a typical toasty type smoke, nor chocolaty--just full flavored and a spicy bite. I like it with a good bourbon like a Van Winkle or Rock Hill Farms. And beyond the taste, it's a dark, veiny, oily cigar that's well made. Great razor burn and long ash. Overall, for a $4.50 cigar it's a good humidor staple.

"A bit of a disappointment"
I had high hopes for this one, and it sure looked great from the start. It's fabulously constructed, burned perfectly and was a joy to smoke as a piece of construction, but the flavor left something to be desired. I was excited by early licorice flavors, but that lasted about 5 minutes and the flavor went pretty one dimensional. What ruined it for me was a soapy aftertaste. Still, I think this one has earned another chance. . .I hope to be able to post a much improved review

"Truly a wonderful Cigar"
This is an outstanding cigar, by far the best in the price range. The flavor is so smooth, almost nutty sweet flavor after a nice steak. I highly recommend this cigar to those who are partial to FULL-BODIED cigars. It has become my favorite. I have smoked both the 2nds and premium, and found both to be same flavor. The 2nds were a little more vainy and course, but still great taste for this addiction.

"Disappointing"
I have smoked The Edge before - both maduro and corojo, but this is my first foray into "The Missle". First of all, I would have to say that I enjoyed the original release of The Edge better than subsequent "batches". I don't know if there was a blend change, or it's just me, but the original release was outstanding when compared to its successors. I was hoping this would be in the same vein as the original release. It wasn't. This was an attractive topedo, truly resembling a missle, wrapped in a maduro leaf with hardly any veins at all. Construction was solid - very solid - without any soft spots. The prelight aroma was enticing. Easy light. Smooth draw. Even burn without the need for corrections or relights. Gray solid cylinder of ash. However, the flavor profile through the entire stick reminded me of paper. There may have been a hint of cocoa towards the end, but I found this to be full-bodied but flavorless and one-dimensional. The Vitmain N was strong in this one, making it a snappy little headspinner, but that was not what I was looking for. I kept searching for a flavor (ANYTHING), but alas my wishes went unfulfilled. This 50 minute smoke was disappointing, especially versus my expectations. The construction was excellent, but that is about the only positive thing I can comment on.

"nucken awsome"
This full flavored smoke kicks major ass. The construction is solid with even burn. At first the cigar was spicy and then it mellowed to notes of coffee. This is my favorite out of the edge collection. Highly recommended!
