"Well done"
Bought a single via the Internet for $5. Smoked it 24 hours after receiving it. Prelight aroma had something subtle to it that I found new and interesting. Started as your average spicy corojo. Less than one inch into it, the cigar's character appeared. For almost half of the smoke, there was a sweet and fairly minty quality. Flavors changed, and a wood element began to work itself in. Towards the end, however, it became much too powerful - threw it away with about 2 inches left. Not worth the MSRP, but one of the best corojos I've ever had. I rated the value at the $5.00 I paid for it.

"A Premium RP, No Doubt!"
Chalk this one up as a very fine cigar.
All three that I've smoked recently were very tasty,
and in the medium to full strength range. This
cigar just oozes quality. The wrapper is like oiled
parchment, with terrific aroma and taste. The
construction is quite good, and the loose draw on
my first was corrected by cutting less off the cap
on the next. Burn was even, but not always
sharp. Plenty of smoke billows from this beauty,
with a complex/changing taste profile. I could
get used to these!

"A real beauty"
This cigar's construction is one of its first noticeable features. But it doesn't only look nice, it feels like a top shelf rolled cigar. At first light, the aroma foretold an enjoyable smoke- probably a good one for those guys who have wives or girlfriends that get picky about the smell of smoke. I usually don't like to review a cigar after having just one, so I may have to re-review this. But here it goes! The first 1/4 of the cigar started out medium in body, but not in flavor. I noticed it started with a fairly smooth and not a long aftertaste. I could tell that this was going to be a developing smoke. As it smoked into the halfway pont the cigar really started to "open up". It began to go into the medium-full mode, maybe even full mode depending on what you are used to. The smoke changed flavors as the cigar smoked, which is what I love about a good cigar. I had a nice even burn that got a little off, but caught up in no time. I'll admit, I'm still learning what words to use to describe the flavors I get, but whatever they were, I liked 'em! I would say there was some leathery notes, some medium spice, with even some cocoa/coffee.

Overall, a cigar that I would buy a whole lot more of if the price was lower- BUT, for now, its a once in a while smoke. I would like to try the maduro version of this cigar now. So is it worth the asking price? Hmmmm...tough call. If you can get these on special, or with a combo deal on auction, that's the way to go!

"Good, strong smoke"
Received 2 as part of a CI sampler pack. Smoked it down to next to nothing and got quite a nicotine buzz. Sort of overwhelming, actually. Liked the appearance. Aroma was very nice, flavor as well. Burned long and had a strong, even ash. Next time I'll try to hit it a little lighter towards the end so I can still walk a straight line when I'm finished. 🙂

"best patel"
A great looking corojo wrapper. A very oily cigar. Great construction, with a nice cap. Easy draw. Nice spicy aroma. Some hearty flavors that include earth and wood at first. Later, I noticed some nosey white pepper with a toasty finish. Chewy herbal flavors at the half. Great balance of all these flavors. Kind of complex (considering its size).

"A bit overpowering"
The Patel 90 & 92 are among my favorites, so I was very anxious to try this smoke.

I got a few a month or so ago, and left them in humi - just tempting me daily.

I took off the smoking paper that wraps this stick, and found the construction to be fine. Nice color, slightly oily, very good smell.

The pre-light draw was somewhat easier than I expected, but otherwise the condition was fine.

I clipped the cap, toasted the foot - and hoped to enjoy it.

It began a little spicy - with a ton of peppery smoke. At about the 1 inch mark - the flavor evened out, and became nutty - the flavor I expect from a Patel.

However, I had 2 problems with the stick. First - the burn was very uneven - I had to monitor it constantly.

Second and most disturbing - I got a very large nicotine buzz from this cigar - more than normal (similar to what I got smoking a Opus X).

I have a few more in the humi (including some maduros) - i'll let them sit another month or so and report back.

Although for $10 per stick - I'd rather have the cheaper vintage sticks instead. I have to grade this low for value.

"Not High End"
Its a good smoke. The construction is perfect, the draw is perfect, the burn is nice and smooth. Yet if you put these up against other RP lines Cuban Blend & Edge they have very similar tastes. The finish hit the tip of your tongue. So why pay double when you can smoke a Cuban Blend that tastes very close to the same. Which why I believe there are few venders selling the Cuban Blend

"Old world construction"
This thing was built like a maximum security prision. Great construction like most RP offerings. The flavor was more mild than I expected, but the woody flavors really made me ok with that. The price was too much though. I would stick with other RP cigars before this just based on value.

"Robusto Corojo disappointing"
Uneven burn tunneling, went out at 1/3, lit & went out again after 5 puffs. Was so bad I cut it back. It started to burn even for a few puffs went out for 3rd time. Bad ash. First taste nutty lots of smoke. Earthy, little peppery and hints of coffee. Just got a bad one. What little I was able to smoke I enjoyed. At $11 I don't know if I'll take the chance on another one.

"Not the Corojo I was expecting."
Corojo is my favourite leaf. I love the nut and toast flavours it produces. This corojo just didn't have that. It was a good cigar by all means. But if you're an experienced Corojo smoker, this doesn't live up to it. Go with the Maduro instead.
