"Impressive but pricey"
Heavy chocolate pre-light aroma. Rich, earthy, cocoa & sweet spice, some cream on the finish. Oily, excellent burn, perfect draw. Full body, medium strength, relatively short aftertaste. A great maduro to impress your friends, but only if you can get a box--single stick $$ is rather steep.

"Excellent Stogie!!!"
Great Cigar!!!! The flavor was unreal and the draw and burn were superb. Tons of smoke from this cigar. A must smoke. But this smoke is not for the novice smoker.

"RP has better"
Got this in a sampler cheap. Some RP I like, Edge, some I dont, American Market. This had a great taste good flavor that grew on me as i smoked it. Easy draw but really mediocre construction, soft in a few spots and the wrapper had issues that took away from the experince. I would never pay what I have seen in these reviews for this cigar but $185 for a box of 50 would be a keeper.

"Ho Hum"
This cigar looks great. The draw was really loose but that didnt take away from the flavor. Had a tiny bit of spice through the nose was a little creamy at one point. I also experienced some hints of cherry in this cigar. Final third got a little harsh.

"Olde World for $3.70 a stick"

for a box of these beauties for $185 a box of 50. Hurry because I'm sure these will be gone soon. I picked up two boxes to last a lifetime. Truely a great cigar through and through.

"Olde is good"
Beautiful presentation; I did not experience the construction problems others have noted, but the draw was a bit too tight. Some pre-light spice, then sweet tobacco with hint of floral taste. Milder in both taste and strength than Padron-x000 and 5Vegas-A maduros. Lasted well over an hour. Pricey.

"Beauty is only skin deep"
Great looking stick. On the plus side had nice draw and good flavor. On the minus side had major burn irregularities.

"outstanding"
Although the wrapper was a bit disheveled looking, the flavor and draw were outstanding. It tasted very sweet, kind of coconut like. Finished very well. The big negative was it developed a very uneven burn about halfway through. Otherwise, very nice smoke.

"One of the best maduros"
With its dark and silky wrapper, this pressed cigar looks great by itself, but looks spectacular when seen in its crate like box. A nice draw produces plenty of smoke and the ash is solid; they do tend to burn hot so you'll have to smoke these slowly to prevent overheating. This tasty smoke is filled with chocolate and cocoa flavors with a balance of strength and elegance. I have been growing tired of smoking maddies of late but I doubt I'll ever get tired of these.

"Oh boy"
I expected a lot and It gave a lot. Lots of long burning flavor in the maddie. Excellent smoke, hints of creamy cedar with chocolate and spice. Love that combination of flavors. Construction was very good no issues to speak of. Over all an excellent smoke.

"I Expected More"
This cigar looked lovely, but was a loose box press that lasted 30 minutes. Flavor was medium-bodied and had some good flavor. I expected more for $11.50

"tried twice"
The cigar has an ok flavor.. like I said ok. Both times the burn was so uneven it really stuck in my mind. Going to try one more time. Would I buy a box right now.... NO WAY..Will see what happens. Would rather spend my money on toranos

"wow!"
A challenger to Ashton VSG, Padron 1964, and Opus XX. Hints of mild chocolate and raspberries. I nubbed it and was sorry for it to finish. Great smoke start to finish.

"I see nothing wrong"
Read my previous review, but add more +++ for smoothing with age. At this point, this is a nearly perfect cigar but for the price.

"Not bad"
As a somewhat rare female cigar smoker, I am going to chime in on a few cigars today. I don't care for the flavored cigars that many women prefer. This cigar is a well built, but more mild than I expected, stick. I did like the look, but prefer other RP brands to this one.

"Surprisingly Good"
Flawless construction, plenty of smoke, perfect draw, even burn. Deep tobacco flavor. Nearly full bodied but infinitely smooth and mellow. Similar to other RPs, just a little better in every way.

"yeah i dig on it..."
Well done Rocky old chap! I may be the first to smoke this before having either of the Vintage lines (90 and 92) ive been down the slope for years but i just never tried a Vintage (until shortly after this smoke, a 1990 i loved)
I have had the Sun Grown and the Conn. from Rocky and they both missed the mark. the SG was too powerful, while it was delicious. the Connecticut was a little boring even for a mild. This was insane. complex, fruity yet creamy. from presentation to the nub factor, im impressed for Rocks "opus"

"Another RP/IT"
I have to say I have never really been disappointed in any of the RP/IT lines, however I noticed that as I move up in price for their lines I am not as happy as they pretty much all taste the same. All their maduros and corojos I have had taste the same dispite the price paid is different. My advise is stick to their cheaper lines as their more expensive lines taste just like 'em.

"great smoke overall"
The draw was a little tight in the beginning but loosed up with time. The flavors were abundant from the get go. It started off with bright cedar notes and a hint of chocolate. The taste evolved into a more spicey profile, finally developing a smooth creamy tasty perfect smoke. There was some burn issues that plagued the experience, but nothing that couldn't be handled.

"Good, not quite great"
I'm a big fan of Rocky Patel and enjoy almost all of the smokes he makes. This one caught me by surprise since I didn't know it was coming out... until I saw it on the shelf. The construction is great and the pre-light smell is great, so I had high hopes. I was surprised at how strong this maduro was. Tastes like it's loaded with strong corojo, which really isn't my thing. I felt like this was more strength over nuianced flavor. Perhaps some aging will help these, but I'm not sure. All the more disappointing given the premium pricing....

"My favorite so far"
You non-Californians have it made. Here this cigar ususally goes for $20-25. We found it for 11 bucks! This was a great cigar. I love how it looks, great wrapper and matching band- Olde World style. Upon lighting you can immediatly tell a difference with this cigar. The smoke had a nice aroma kind of pipe-like. The cigar had a mild sweetness to it similar to maple bark/maybe vanilla. It was subtle tasting but complex at the same time-you can like it right off of the bat, but there were deeper flavors in there for you to figure out. It produced good flavorful smoke, but I had to relight twice and I hate doing that as the cigar is never the same upon relighting. This to me was in the medium class type smoke. I think a new cigar smoker would enjoy this as well as the seasoned puffer. The brochure mentions that this is between the Vintage series and the Edge. That is probably the best way to descibe this cigar if you are familiar with those types. I think it is definatly something different unlike any cigar I've had before.

"There is no low end"
1 dollar...ten dollars..there is no big difference when it comes to Rocky Patel. All of his cigars are great. If you get a bad one, that is the exception, not the norm. This gar was nearly perfect in every respect. This went from a strong to a medium cigar in a hurry, which is a great thing for your tastebuds. I did not pay 10$ for this cigar, but it would have been worth it at that price.

"This is the Cigar that got me hooked"
I think there great, I love the look and feel of the cigar, The construction is superb. The flavor and smoothness of this cigar keeps me coming back for more. The only negative that ive experienced is inconsistent burn. a slight jagged edge has been the norm, and on one occasion I had to relight 3 times, but there was an obvious defect with that particular cigar. Please do not let the burn issue steer you away, truly a great smoke... enjoy

"A fantastic Smoke"
Well...the draw was nearly perfect..not quite as good as a padron 64 but hey what is? what else...the flavor delicious....seemed a bit strong at first but as it went on i just didn't want it to end. It just seemed perfect...distinct and flavorful.. It was a constructed very well...if I wanted to I probably could have not ashed it throught the entire cigar..burned evenly. A little pricey at $10.50 for a 5 1/2 x 54...but it was well worth it.
