"Long and nice"
This is a 2 hour smoke and I enjoy them all the way to the nub. Construction is great and the burn is sharp with a very good ash. Tlavors of leather and a sweet spice, with a touch of cocoa and coffee. Lots of flavors in the complex smoke. I will be getting more of these.

Great construction, draw, burn. Lots of smoke. This is how they were out the box. After sitting on them for a year the cigar has matured greatly! Now I have to savor them...which will be hard.

"What the Heck Happened?"
This cigar was calling me from the
humidor "smoke me, smoke me". It looked so good, a very attractive cigar. I was all set for the type of smoking experience I've read about in these reviews. What the heck happened? When I fired it up it tasted like leather, not bad leather, not good leather, just leather. That was pretty much the whole story. Maybe, it got a little better with a slight cedar taste as I smoked it. The only explanation I can come up with is that I didn't age it long enough. It was only in my humidor for about a month. Maybe it just looked to gorgeous for my own good. That's never happened before!

"suprising"
i work at a the local cigar store... my boss went out to a convention in houston texas recently and he brought back this huge bundle of about 50 cigars they haded him for free... he labeled most of it junk, but pulled out the rocky patel sun grown and told me to try this one-we'll be carrying it soon... i was expecting something decent because he's just slightly more knowledgeable than me (ok, so he really did teach me everything, then he hired me)... this cigar was definitely impressive, with notes of cocoa and coffee, but well balanced so there were no strong flavors... it was medium to full, and very relaxing... i sank back in my chair and watched ESPN for a good long while while almost forgetting the customers... bottom line, i liked it... anything else i didnt say can be covered in my ratings

"Sungrown bliss"
This was actually a factory select that Famous smoke shop sells (it's a second of the sungrown line at about half the price) this cigar has a beautiful wrapper, construction is impeccable with an oily sheen and it's really rolled tightly but that didn't affect the draw on the cigar, flavor is smooth and cedary, you should try one they are up in my 10 favorite cigar list.

"Decent when aged"
When these are young they are extremely tangy and somewhat unpleasant. When aged 6+ months, they turn spicy with a strong cedary start, then medium and cedary with a fleeting earthiness and occasional bits of cocoa/coffee. Unfortunately all of them seemed to turn mild at around 3 inches, not great for a $7 cigar.

"A must try cigar. Trust me."
Another nirvanah flavor experience for me. What are you waiting for? Even if you don't like sun grown wraps you still MUST try these. At least lay down a fiver for about 6 months and enjoy strength and flavor that is unmatched! You will thank me. One of my favorite cigars.

"Nirvana flavor experience."
This is why we smoke cigars. Smooth, creamy, rich flavors of mocha, honey, citrus, and oak, within an underlying slightly sweet tobacco kept getting better as I smoked this for 2 hours to the nub. This was the best tasting cigar I have ever experienced. Burn and draw were excellent. You won't realize the strength to these until you've smoked about 5/6 of it. Aftertaste was excellent. I see that the RP Sun Grown is getting pricier and more difficult to obtain (currently MSRP is $7-$8). Recently I've been trying to grab 5 packs for $20-25 on c-bid and I usually get outbid. Unfortunately these are no longer a secret so your chances of getting these cheaply is diminishing. Still, if you don't have these in your box you are missing out on an outstanding cigar. Don't even consider smoking these until they have spent at least 60 days in your box. I shall enter $4.50 for PP (an obvious 10).

"Excellent Taste"
Yesterday I stopped at Rocky Patel's HQ in florida and was gifted this cigar by one of the guys there. As I have been a fan of their vintage sticks I was eager to try this. Very nice dark wrapper with some veins but nothing too bad. The taste is very nutty and creamy with a hint of spice. Not to overpowering but very very flavorful. Nice ash that stuck well and this stick burned for a while. I am defo going to buy some.

"Another good Rocky"
This cigar looks a bit rugged but is very oily and has good color. The draw and burn are both very good and it produces lots of aromatic smoke. It's tasty and complex: after a meaty, savory start, it mellows showing oaky and sweet citrus flavors. I've enjoyed the Rocky Patel Vintage lines, and I equally enjoy this line as well.

"Smoke me longtime."
This stick lasted over 2 hours and got better with each puff. Aging has definitely brought the nuances out and made this cigar the perfect balance of flavor and power. Still a few construction issues keep it from being perfect. I would put this cigar up against anything Castro has to offer. I lit this baby at 9:15 PM and it is now 11:45 PM and I'm stiil puffin'. I hate to pay more than $3 for a cigar but this is an exception.

"Improved with aging."
Another 2 months in the box pepped up the character and depth of flavor. It also cut down on the quick burn I experienced before. This stick lasted an hour and 45 minutes. It was handsome, with great draw and burn characteristics. A simply fantastic smoke here with some aging. Way to go Rocky!

"Solid Stick"
Attractive wrapper and sexy band. Nice prelight aroma. Burn was a bit fast but uniformly perfect. Draw was a bit loose producing gobs of easy smoke. Tighty whitey ash. Medium flavor body had earthy and spice tones. I caught a hint of a pleasant, slightly sweet, prune taste. Could have been the tawney port that accompanied my smoke. Overall... nice and satisfying. A little short in the depth and character department regarding the overall finish.
Lasted an hour and 15 minutes.

"Good stick"
This stick is a powerhouse of flavor! Rich reddish-brown slightly oily wrapper with minimal veins. Good construction with no soft spots. Tangy prelight aroma. Easy light. Good draw. Razor sharp burn without the need for correction. Slightly flakey salt-and-pepper ash. Tons of creamy billowy smoke. Started with earth, tobacco, and wood - particularly oak and walnut. By the middle third, the woody notes changed towards cedar with a hint of cinnamon. The earthy flavor became more prominent in the last third with a whisper of sweetness while still maintaining the cedar and oak notes. All in all, this one hour and 30 minute medium-to-full bodied smoke was packed with flavor, though not a headspinner. A fairly unique flavor profile that I haven't tasted in another stick - very enjoyable.

"Beauti"
I don't say this often but, this a great friggin' cigar. Rocky stepped up and hit one out of the park. Spicy, peppery start that mellows into medium-full flavors that are also great. The strength starts back up in the 2nd half and the flavor stays throughout. It has a heavy look but is light in the hand and the draw is very easy and produces a lot of smoke so don't cut this one too deep until you test it out. Again, this a great cigar if it is a little pricey.
