"Watch out, Short Story!"
I'd been looking for a Short Story replacement and found the little RP Vintage 1990 Preferido. My experience smoking it was very much that of the Fuente Hemingway Short Story - at about 2/3 the cost. The remnants of my five-pack of these will multiply quickly!

"Spicy blast to start..."
then it smooths out a little and the quality blend of flavor comes through along with continued spicyness. Flavor was varying with coffee, nuts and some sweetness. Burn was very nice on this one and the ash held until I thumped it off at 1". Did not want it to end but sadly our time together is limited on this short smoke. These are not a strong cigar and are a good start to your day or anytime. Will keep a few handy for a nice change from my milder cigars.

"great deal even better cigar."
I bought these after reading all the hype every where. Great all around smoke from beging to end. Don't let the dark wrapper scare you. Has a good draw but could be a tad better but I am not complaining. Also you can get them as seconds for like 2.75- 3.25$ I don't you will find a better cigar at this price thanks CI. Will be order more of these sticks soon, I think I finally found my every day smoke... AdreeeeAn oh wrong Rocky

"Awesome............Perfecto............Ò^Ó¬.."
I bought this perfecto because I thought it was cute. I lit this bad-boy up and it was packed full of flavor including Coffee, chocolate and some nuttiness. This is an awesome little cigar a better alterernative to the AF Short Story in Maduro no less. I have since bought two boxes and be in the usual rotation. I bet that if you just try one you will be sold. A nice ½ hour smoke.

"Wall o' richness"
I picked up a bundle of 2nds from an online cigar auction. Upon inspecting the cigars, I noticed that the wrappers were all rather dark, but all had mottled, x-tra dark, or x-tra light complexions - must be why they were 2nds. The shape was a hoot!
Anyway, this cigar is rolled a bit too dense initially for my preference. I say initially because halfway down the cigar, they do tend to loosen up and get that "healthy, spongy" consistency and then it's smooth smokin'.
What really sold me on these little babies is thir flavor coming in at about 1/3 to 1/2 down the barrel. It hasn't been uncommon for me to taste coffee, cocoa, cacao, vanilla, or coconut. Too, there is a rich complexity to the flavor that I cannot quite put my finger on. Very, very tasty!
Would love to find some 2nds of the torpedo size.

"MOVE OVER SHORT STORY!"
When I came across this little cutie my jaw dropped to the floor. It was like a SS and a RP 1990 had made mad monkey love and this was their freak offspring. This vitola is an exact replica of the SS! And let me tell you guys we got a new contender with the SS and the Party Short for the radist small smoke. I give you the RP Vintage 1990 Perfecto!
I lit the nipple and this guy took off giving a great example of what the 1990 wrapper gives you - that extra strength and SPICE that the 1992 lacks (I love the 1992 BTW). The burn opened up perfectly and touch ups were not necessary. The spice beginning gave way to a more nutty/pepper taste and the stick continuously mellowed to the half way point and then climbed back up the ladder with spice and strength until the end.
I tapped the grey-white ash at one inch intervals (because I was driving) and let the stick die with one inch left. I got about 35 minutes out of this little guy.
I love the Short Story but I love this cigar too. I'd have to smoke them back to back to say which I love more but if I was stuck on an Island and had to choose at this very moment...the SS would be left behind.
