"Staple from Rocky"
I always come back to this cigar after having "big ticket" cigars. For the price they still rank among my favorite. There is a thick, toasty, nutty flavor that always creeps through, however, the aroma is best when you pull ever so slightly on the cigar and lick your chops while breathing (I think this is called a retrohale?) Despite all that, it is second only to the Padron 64 Anniv. If you like the edge corojo, this is a must try! let them mellow for 2 months before even touching them and any trace of unpleasant "live flavor" should be indistinguishable. I buy these from CI as seconds and personally feel that for the money it is by far the best smoke out there. Again, only bested by Padron 64 anniv if you like a "nutty / creamy" aroma and full bouquet. Not as strong (nicotine wise) as others, but very very amazing taste! Medium body with a toasty mellow. Not too peppery.

"Very nice cigar..."
Looks great. Very creamy and smooth and perfect draw. Sweet cedar and some sweet earthy notes. Rich but medium bodied smoke. My only real gripe is a little bit of a crooked burn.

Recommended! I believe that this one has a 10 year old wrapper. The well balanced smooth smoke made the wait well worth it!

"It's a tasty one for sure"
I'm sitting out on the balcony in the late afternoon working on the computer and enjoying a '92 Vintage Patel. I've got Cognac in my glass and all (or most) is right with the world...at least for now). That said...let's get down to business...The RP 92's are a fine selection...provided you enjoy a cigar similar in profile to Cuban Montecristo #2's. They aren't Monty's but they are easier to get. I like leather, earth and just a hint of sweetness in my cigars. The '92's with about 5 to 6 months of age on them deliver it. From the first draw I know I've got a man's cigar. I hate it when I start a cigar and it tastes like tobacco you'd find in a cigarette! With the '92 that's not the case. It's a cigar from the start and if you don't rush it...it delivers on all counts. A co-worker and I bought a "Tres Vintage" combo from CI (90's, 92's and 99's) all 15 delivered fro $45. I'd recommend buying them that way, it's way cheaper for all. They're real good. This bastard was well constructed. Veiny and almost maduro in appearance but right on the mark in all aspects.

"Really good cigar, pleasant surprise"
I had no idea how good this cigar would be. I usually smoke the "name brands" - Partagas, Cohiba, etc. And dare I say it, the Patel 1992 Vintage is almost as good, and even better in some cases - smooth, long ash, good construction, rich flavor, smoke till the end with no bitterness.

"Classy, elegant smoke"
With its dark wrapper, pressed shape, and nice-looking bands, this cigar looks great. Its draw and burn are pretty good, and the ash formed is long, grayish, and solid. It's a smooth, earthy smoke with a pleasant spiciness to it not found in the 1990 Vintage. Medium-bodied, it's not as strong as advertised but still flavorful. Everything about this cigar exudes class, and unfortunately that includes the price, but worth it occasionally.

"Second best."
I won these on C-Bid a couple of years ago. They are seconds that smoke like firsts. I tried one a while back but knew it wasn't ready. Now they're ready, boy are they ready. It's one of those deals where you know the quality of the product and that with time you will be rewarded. These aged seconds deliver wood, rich, slightly bitter, coffee flavors mixed with some cream and a licorice note. It's a medium bodied smoke with no sweetness, that looks like and has maduro qualities (is it supposed to be maduro?) The roll is solid and the burn is good. It gets smoother and creamier after the first inch but if you don't care for robust flavor then this isn't for you. A great value at under $2.50.

"Not my favorite RP"
I'm very fond of most of Rocky Patel's cigars. This one just didn't cut it for me. Very harsh - the tip of my tongue was burning by the time I finished. There was a bitterness overpowered any other flavors. I'll stick with the Vintage `90s or the Olde World Reserve.

"Decent, but more money than it's worth"
Being a beginner cigar smoker, this was a little too much for me. Burned really nice, lit great, burned even, produced a fair amount of nice aromatic smoke. Even with a good small cut, the end unraveled a little...that seems to be common to torpedos. Taste was good, but a little strong for me, head was swimming. For the aficionado this is probably top class, for a beginner, not worth the extra price.

"Aging did wonders."
Wow! This is why we smoke cigars. This sexy looking, year plus aged cigar nicked on c-bid for $4-ish, was incredible. Solidly medium in body with flashes to full, this baby smoked and drew like a champ. The smooth, changing flavors were of spice, some earth, something prune or plum tasting, some mocha and coffee all within a mostly straight tobacco base. Highly recommended. I find the RP Vintage 90 and 92 both wonderful. However, I find the 92, deeper in body, more consistent, with a slightly better flavor profile. (Value rating inflated due to the $4 I paid.)

This smoke had about a year of humi time, and tasted better than I remember (I had my last one about 8 months ago). The aroma was spectacular. Smoke was cool and tasted of wood with hints of coffee throughout. The ash was solid! The 2nds are a great buy.

I picked this one up as an afterthought. I liked the way it looked, and remembered hearing some buzz.

I have to say they were right. This was a fine smoke. Mellow, but not mild, I tasted earthy tones, a little coffee and cream. It lasted over an hour and was consistent throughout. Highly Recommended!

"Get 'em cheap to enjoy more."
A gorgeously attractive, tasty, medium to mostly full bodied cigar. Burned slow, slightly uneven, but mostly OK. Draw slightly tight. Once aged properly, the strength and flavor become well balanced and mature into a very smooth and distinguished coffee, spice, and earth experience. A tad one demensional throughout the hour and 45 minute experience, but I liked the demension. As I did, you should be able to get these cheaply at auction on C-bid for about $4-5 a throw. Recomended at that price but not for the mild crowd.

"Slap my a** and call me Susan"
Wow!!! I can't say enough about how much I liked this cigar. It was everything I wanted in a smoke.(No I do not work for Indian Tabac) This stick was creamy and nutty with notes of coffee and chocolate, slightly spicy. Never had a harsh moment in the whole 85 minuets it took to smoke. Draw and construction were excellent , never got hot. Getting this on Cigarbid for less than $4 a stick was just icing on the cake.

"At $4 Just Yummy. $8 is tough."
A Sexy, smokable, tasty cigar. Smooth, Medium to fringe of full in overall body and flavors. No overpowering aftertaste. I sucked this baby down in about an hour and fifteen minutes. Very enjoyable. Flavors of earth and wood with some nice spice overtones hit my palate just right. Nothing mindblowing but very nice. Great with a tawny port. At $8 a throw value is a bit off as you can smoke something similar in flavor (padron 1000 series, camacho corojo, gran habano corojo #5 come to mind) at half the price. I nicked a 5 packer on c-bid for $4 a throw. A solid value. You can too. I shall base the review on $4.

"Looks AND personality... A double-threat guy"
This is a beautiful cigar. Its great construction gives it a look much more pricey than its $9 tag. Smokes like a dream too. Prelight smells spicy, and starts out smoking that way too. Great flavor that starts out bold, then mellows a bit before rewarding the smoker with a very satisfying finish, all the while staying silky smooth. After about 75 smokes, this is my new favorite. This is why we smoke cigars. Next on the docket is the 1964.

"Wow!"
These heavenly babies just came to me yesterday. Smoked one last night after dinner around the patio fire with friends. The stick Looked yummy. Smoked a bit uneven with a tight draw until about 1/2 way in. Stick was rock hard. BUT THE FLAVOR...ohhh my...Dense complex dark chocolate slightly roasted almond heavenly full flavor. This reminded me of a Cuban Montecristo #2. The best part of this was the fact that this stick cost me $3 because it was an RP 1992 vintage SECOND. (Cigar Int. is running a 15 pak bundle special for $45) Yes this was a second. OHHHHH MYYYY. I can't believe what the "Firsts" must be like. I washed this stick down with a chocolate Yahoo. What a suprisingly great combo.

"beautiful flavor"
bought this one from www.seriouscigar.com
on the dealers recommendation, I told him I like the Fuente and Ashton sun grown cigars.
Once I received it I let it rest in the humi a week as most recommend I then went to the patio and smoked it with a flat tire beer, the cigar was box pressed and had a beautiful dark wrapper the burn had some running that had to be corrected once or twice but the best part was the flavor it had a mellow nice, clean tobacco flavor that never got boring but kept my interest, I would recommend this cigar to anyone that enjoys a good medium to full bodied smoke.
