Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Perfecto

Awesome little smoke. Oak and leather tones match well with its floral aroma. Accented in its peppery tones, which are surprising given the wrapper. Burns beautifully, with a fantastic white ash and smooth white smoke characteristic of conn. shade wrappers, and is a tad bit resistant on the draw (which I believe enhances the ambiance, reminding you not to smoke it too fast.) Not an every day smoke for me, but certainly a tasty treat- and robust for its size.

The Rocky Patel Vintage 90/92 is a terrific line, one of my favs. Their SG smokes are tasty too, but a Vintage SG in a beautiful perfecto shape was just too good to pass up. Looks just like a Hemingway short story, beautiful construction with a gorgeous silky smooth Connecticut wrapper.

Snipped the head with my Xikar, toasted the foot and started in on what would turn out to be a great smoking experience. Right off the bat you’re greeted with silky smooth, slightly sweet oakey goodness. About half way through the smoke a bit of spice adds to the ride. The burn was great, the smoke stayed nice and cool with ample smoke, and a perfect draw for the 45 or so minutes it lasted.

I’ll certainly be looking for a box of these tasty treats. Rocky you have another winner on your hands!
