"mini belicoso"
-appearance--beautiful cigar.-construction--had major problems with burn.had to touch up several times.burned hot as well because it wasnt packed well, alot of air pockets which was the cause of both problems.-flavor--one dimensional.above average if only slightly.-value--worth it because of the fact that i got it in a free sampler pack.-overall--not impressed what so ever.ive had this one in the humidor for a while and id hate to have tried it when i got it.ill see if i got anymore to give a second chance.

"Does not live up to its name"
The toro and the reserve real in my opinion are about as good as a monte#2 this one leaves me wanting more. The construction was nice and the wrapper was a nice smooth brown with a slight oily feel. the light up was nice with a earthy bread taste, the ash was really tight and the draw was perfect. the burn even but the flavor really did not develop. 2/3rds It was so boring I could really not continue and i tossed it. Try the toro in the reserve real

"nothing special"
I can see that this has not been reviewed in nearly 2 years and for good reason. This is not a bad cigar, just not very good. Bland but well constructed. No relights necessary. Mild to medium in body but for the life of me I cannot remember what the predominant flavors were. Much better values out there.

"Good Maduro"
I like the RYJ maduro line, this one was no different. A solid maduro but a bit pricy. Faint chocolate that came and went with a light sprinkling of spice. Just a good maduro flavor overall. I think the robusto had more flavor but thats not to say this offering was bad.

"Decent medium priced cigar"
A dark, slightly box pressed cigar with a rough veiny wrapper. I found it to be a little tight causing a bit firmer draw than I prefer. The taste was nice with a chocolate taste at first blending into a spicy woodsy flavor. The finish was a bit hot for me but other than those two minor flaws this was a fine cigar.

"lame"
A beautifully dark cigar with a somewhat dingy appearance. I was very excited about trying it, but ended up disappointed. The draw and construction were good, but the flavor was just plain dull. It reminded me a lot of the Diablo cigar I tried a few weeks ago. (That's not to say that this R&J was spicy, it’s to say that the Diablo was not and that they both were pretty lousy). The main flavor was newspaper, but it had a metallic citrus note to it as well, kind of like canned pineapple. It was such a boring smoke that I tossed it 2/3's of the way through and went to Taco Bell to get the burning paper taste out of my mouth. In short, this smoke was much too mild and one-dimensional, especially for a maduro. I will not be wasting any time with this one in the future.

"Needs some humidor time"
This was the first RYJ other than a churchill that I have tried. Construction was good, draw was fairly easy and the burn was decent. The flavor was a little too woodsy, although it changed a little towards the last half of the cigar. This stick was milder than I am used to with the churchill maduro, I have a five pack and plan to let the others age a month or two before trying another.

"Flat"
Bought about 10 of these when they came out - should have tried one first. Not bad but just flat. Predominantly Nicaraguan filler I guess but not the flavor you get with some other cheaper brands. Burnt a bit unevenly. I save these for freinds who come over without a cigar!

"One of my favorites!"
Great smoke! I agree that they can be a tad tight, but that is the only negative I found. Great construction otherwise, and good burn qualities. The chocolate and citrus flavors are there in a smooth (especially for a maduro), medium bodied smoke. No harshness other than the very common one at first light.

"Decent but underwhelming"
A dark oscuro cigar with a slight box press flattening the sides, this stick had a beautiful black and silver band with nicely detailed embossing. The skin was tough and leathery with veins and a few lumps, and there were two tiny round holes in just the wrapper about halfway down. Also, there were a few little wrinkles in the cap. It did have a nice springy roll, however, and when clipped deep it allowed a medium firm draw.
There was a good earthy pre-light aroma, and the pre-light draw was loamy. Upon lighting there was a burst of flinty flavor, and then a full, medium bodied taste emerged. A decent grey ash held on well and tapped cleanly, even though there was a slightly uneven burn at times. It produced lots of chewy smoke.
A black and tan prepared in the traditional manner proved a good companion to the cigar as it continued to push out decent mid-range flavor. Smoked to the band, the cigar became stronger as it went, eventually giving me a slight nicotine buzz towards the end. Throughout, the aroma was rich and tempting.
Overall a good, generally well constructed cigar. Although satisfying, I’ve come to expect more from Romeo y Julieta products. This cigar could easily have been more complex and it was rougher than the usual Romeo y Julieta in construction and appearance; however, it was a nice change of pace. Recommended.

"Confusing"
The flavor of this cigar was very inconsistant, it never was a bad flavor but usually when I am ejoying a nice smoke I prefer it to be the same taste. I wouldn't buy another one but wouldn't turn one down if offered

"Great smoke for a good price"
You have to love the Raiders colored band on this cigar - nice looking maduro - dark even color. Unlike the other two reviewers to date, none of the nearly 17 RyJ Reserve Maduro Belicosos suffered from construction problems - the draw was always fine? The ash and even burn on these cigar is remarkable. The flavor is nice - it is so close to the RyJ Reserve Natural, but both are nice - there is a bit of a sweet flavor that tickles your tongue at the end of each draw - almost like the difference between Bud Light and Miller Lite - Bud just has a slight sweet tinge to it? Nevertheless, the flavor was nice - a bit on the mild side, soft sweet aroma and hints of toast - for $7, this cigar is not bad - unlike the Onyx Maduro, this cigar seems to contain a bit more character in its flavor.

"destined to be a classic!"
Can't get enough of these Reserve Maduros. Don't usually care for torpedos, but the flavor and aroma of this compensated for the poor draw. Wrapped a bit tight, but impeccable quality in the blend. Dark chocolate with a hint of citrus, cedar. A fine "merlot" of a cigar. Will have to try a No. 4. (Usually prefer that shape).

"Packed and Lacking"
This cigar was too firm. I turned Blue in the face trying to get a mouthful of smoke. It wasn't plugged, it just was packed too tight! However the taste I received left a lot to be desired. Around the half inch portion, I thought I tasted a little chocolate backed by a slight lemonly flavor. After that no taste at all. This stick was very bland for a maduro. Alas . . . will not buy again.
