"Stellar"
Seems I come back to these about once a year. Sitting in their box, at low humidity, for about two years now these babies have rounded into fine smokes with a beautiful oily sheen on the dark wrapper. The perfect blend of tobacco, sweetness, mocha coffee, and bite. An early day delight.

"4.6"
A while back I read a Smoke mag review for these and it was a stellar 4.6 under their old rating system. So I bought a couple of fivers and let them rest a month or so before smoking. My previous review showed this was a good cigar, not great. I'm happy to say now it is a 4.6 and it is great. Only having to touch it up a few times holds it back. Delicious maduro flavors and no artificial sweetness now.

"Toothy Maduro"
This was a good looking cigar with a smooth dark wrapper. The cap cut even and the foot lit even to open up the wood flavor that was just waiting inside. The taste was medium to full with notes of wood and some pepper on the finish. Just a toothy Maduro.

"Solid but not interesting"
As is typical of so many maduros, this one is a solid tasty maduro flavor, but lacks complexity. The burn was decidedly mediocre with significant canoeing that was hard to control. At around 1.5 inches it turned harsh. Hardly worth the $5.25 price tag.

"Sophisticated"
That's the word to describe the Monarch Maduro. Not an evening smoke but very nice after breakfast or lunch. A little loose on the draw to start but firms up after an inch or so. A bunch of sweet charred wood and toast flavors with the sweetness at times seeming artificial. All in all a winner, I just wish it was a little stronger.

"hidden gem"
After the trilogy line got some good reviews and some popularity, I thought that this line would be alot pricier and harder to find. NOT SO!! The price was great (a bit over $2 each) and the stick is very good!!

"more than a gimmick"
The shape of this cigar is intriguing, the one i smoked had some detracting notches in the wrapper. BUT after it was lit it burned well and the draw was great.
