"Fantastic Smoke"
The Coloniales are the finest of the Trinidad lines, especially for those who prefer less-full bodied Cubans. I don't recommend buying them in singles or 5 packs, but by the box/cab. They age exceptionally well, but are great right out of the box; my only real issue is that you'll get one or two 'sour' a box, usually from the top row in the case, and though they rarely smoke 'sour' the entire cigar, they can be enough to put someone off of the Coloniales permanently. I enjoy the line so much that I've gutted out many of these, waiting for the flavor to improve, which it usually does before I can consider the smoke a waste.

"Better than I thought"
I picked these up as I love the other Cuban Trinidads & wanted to try them all, and after reading other reviews I wasn't sure what I was going to get. Well I wasn't disappointed at all! Great construction & burn with a smooth med-mild flavor with hints of sweet coffee. All & all a great smoke in the Trinidad tradition!

"Age Me"
I’ve had a change of heart on these. Give them just a little time and they reward you well, the harsh freshness fades away and that creamy texture with hints of coffee and spice seems to build, there’s also a hint of saltyness in there. A great mild-medium daytime smoke with a long finish. I agree their expensive, but their the cream of the crop and seem to improving every day they sit in the humi.

"Expensive and Delish"
I was in a mood to treat myself when I plopped down $26.75 for one of these one afternoon. Maybe that mood contributes to this positive review. All I know is that I found this to be one of the loveliest mild to medium bodied cigars I've ever smokes, loaded with creamy textured smoke, traces of vanilla and cedar. It was just the thing to cap my day.

"Age matters"
The initial tanginess seems to be a product of lack of age, as the first one was mediocre at best. After a few months this disappeared, and I was left with a medium bodied cigar that was smooth and tasty. The light was definitely still weirdly grassy, but this changed quickly to a toasty toffee/cuban coffee flavor with some nice charry bits towards the end. All burned nice down to about 0.5 inches...it's hard to ask for more in that department. Overall though, I prefer the Cuabas for flavor and cost.

"Confusing"
If you can figure out why the first third of the smoke is so hard and bitter, let me know. Theareafter its a really good smoke. The construction is top notch. Burnt well, Draw spot on. Flavours were indulgent, and smoked well to the end. If you can ignore the start up, then its a truely fine smoke. But on the whole this stick simply fell short.

"Very Mild"
A very mild cigar, without the hints of sweetness you sometimes find in the Reyes. The burn was pretty good if slightly uneven, and the cigar had a loose draw that seemed almost too loose, though it did produce a lot of smoke, which I like. The flavors seemed somewhat muted for an '02 cigar. For the price, there are many other cigars of this size I would prefer.

"Less than expected"
I've tried a couple of the larger Trinidads and thought they were really nice smokes if not a bit expensive. However I bought a bunch of these recently, smoked the first this week and was totally let down. The first third was outright nasty, after that, yes it was smooth, but thats because there was none of that creamy/ spice i was looking for. Its build well, burned nicely and the aroma was more or less what i was expecting. Maybe a year in the humi will change my mind

"Very nice"
The construction was great, taste was excellent down to the last inch. Only problem is with the price which is out of kilter with these.

"Pigtail stick"
I received this smoke in a package from Canadian Cigar Club. When I decided to light it, I was looking for a quick smoke and that is what I got. The first quarter inch or so, was terrible. I was trying to figure out what this thing tasted like, when green came to mind. Just when I was about to toss this stick, it changed on me. The flavor smoothed out and a creamy slightly sweet taste started. To make a long story short, I ended up smoking this thing down to about a half inch. For a small cigar, it turned out to be one of the best that I have tasted. Because it is very expensive, that first quarter inch was really rough, and I prefer longer cigars, I won't be buying any more of these. But if this size is your thing, I suggest you give these a try.

"Expensive, but worth it."
Agree with Aruba's review, this is a great smoke. Draw was perfect, very smooth with complex profile. Expensive but worth it.

"Outstanding"
If it weren't for the price tag of this beautiful cigar, I would have rated it a 10. Paid $14.25 at LCDH in Aruba. One of the very best that I have ever had. A perfect burn accompanied the complex flavors of this pig-tail capped cigar. If you are willing to pay the price, I highly recommend doing so.

"Construction problems..."
Flavor is ok, when the cigar isn't plugged. Very creamy flavor, not worth the extra price over most other habanos cigars in my opinion. I'll stick with my Bolivar PCs and still have some cash left over.

"Sad When done"
I picked up 4 of these in Canada, and may i say, I am looking forward to ordering some online. Using a V cut, I found the draw was excellent, and smooth. I found myself down to a small nub and I still wanted to smoke it. Very good cigar for Corona lovers like myself.

"good smoke"
I love the colonials. I'm not sure if I am smoking the same cigar as those before me. This is the CUBAN Trinidad. I found these cigars to be a nice medium smoke. It is a smooth complex blend with hints of cedar, nutmeg, and a light cocoa sweetness. I find these cigars are to be savored not unlike their longer brother the "fundadores." This is easily one of my favorite smokes.

"Huh?"
I have smoked many of these and I never had the experience these other reviews relate. These are great cigars-complex and full. Of TTT the funda. is my favorite but these are almost as good.

"What did they smoke?"
I do respect the judgement of the persons that wrote before me on this cigar, but I strongly disagree with their very low ratings. The Colonial I smoke was a very smooth cigar, with complex sweet flavours very well blended together and a fine quality of construction. Draw was tight, though. All in all, a worth representative of the Trinidad line and another fine product from El laguito factory. Expensive, of course...

"Not good..."
Tried to get through the smoke...made it 2/3 through. Just not there. Why spend money on a lousy smoke with so many others available? Terrible construction but smooth draw, just a flat smoke.

"TERRIBLE"
Well Trinidad finally did it. Their new blend is downright awful. Why do these companies try to fix something that isn't broke. Bought a 5 pack. Could just barely finish the first one. Tried 2nd one and threw it away. Don't waste your money on these new Trinidads
