"Needs age"
Silky smooth Colorado Maduro wrapper of much beauty. This cigar was very green but still appeared to be one-dimensional in flavor. Needs a couple years rest. A case of Junior dressed up in his old man's best sport coat!!!

"Slow burn"
This cigar seems to be a little more consistant then most cubans. It has a slow even burn and that great cuban taste. Although not as popular as some other cuban cigars, you wron't be disappointed with this one.

"How can this be ?"
Judging by some of these reviews I must have had an exceptional couple of boxes, my experience of this cigar has been nothing short of excelsior ! It's the grand daddy of DBL Coronas (Well except for Monty A's, RJ's & a couple of others) but thats besides the point, I feel superior when smoking this delicious treat and I can only hope someone else out there picks up a box or two like the ones I had (NOV 04) sweet, toasty and tasty to the nub A+

"must need time"
I have smoked a couple of these from dec 2004 and I have to say its been uneventful. Well constructed, nice even burn, produces lots of smoke, but just no flavors other than a leathery tobacco taste throughout. I have a few more of the same age, I'll just give them a few more years and see.

"Very good, but not yet in the highest league"
Very nice for a cigar this size. Excellent draw and fun to smoke. Good flavour, but not a taste of its own, after smoking three cigars from different lots you can not yet identify them as the same cigar (although the taste is Cuban all the way). Despite the publicity, this is not yet in the league of Cohiba, Trinidad or Montecristo.

"THis cigar deserves better!"
wow im shocked at the reviews below. i guess the more recent boxes arnt smoking too well.

this cigar is that once every 4-5 month cigar that comes along and reminds you why you smoke. Undeniable hins of caramel, very sugary when most cubans can be more salty (rough comparison). THis cigar has a slow first eight but smokes all the way down with thin layers of smoke and intense rich flavor reminding me constantly of burnt sugar to creamy oatmeal.
This man is Cubas last true habano farmer (that stayed) and this is His cigar. nuff said

Decent looking cigar, with a paler-than-normal wrapper. The tase was an uneventful and uncomplex soil.leather.tobacco flavor. Burn and draw were fine. Overall, this is a very average smoke.

"Excellent Choice"
I was lucky enought to score a box of these last month. Great smoke, excellent construction, and most importantly great draw for a cigar this size. Lots of flavor, not recommended for a beginner, only gets better as you progress. If you could get one of these get it !!!

"Classic"
One of the nicest larger cigars I have had the pleasure to smoke. unlike many cigars of this size, the draw was nice and easy with lots of smoke. The burn stayed perfect throughout, and the flavors were complex. sometimes creamy, sometimes earthy, sometimes more coffee like. The smoke lasted a good ninety minutes and was wonderful throughout. A great large cigar.

"Liquor Store"
This cigar was great looking. But when I clipped it and took a prelight draw, I knew I was in trouble. Smoking this thing was a serious workout for the jaws. What little smoke I could get, was not up to Vegas Robaina standards. The taste was like one of those cigars sitting on the counter in the little plastic box in a liquor store. After I finally gave up and let it die, the odor coming from the ashtray was terrible. Something was truely wrong with this cigar.

"Sorry Charlie"
Well made, nice looker, excellent burn but the taste left a lot to be desired. Not in the same class with a Trinidad Funadore or a Diplomatico #2. Have 3 more in my Staebeal Humi, will let them rest a while and try again.

A very long, pleasant cigar that is both well rolled and has a perfect draw. Burn had to be adjusted from time to time. Medium-bodied with a very seductive undertone of fruit and spiciness. Especially nice with a chilled glass of Maker's Mark bourbon.

"A gem of a sleeper"
Have smoked three over the last 6 weeks so this is an average. All very well made, although a little soft to a finger squeeze and all could have used some humidor time (a little young). BUT, the smoke was grand. Medium bodied and all very consistent. Because it's not full bodied, hadto relax andsit back a bit to let the flavors come to me . . . and flavors there were. Mostly herbal in flavor but with a lot of overtones including woodsy/earthy/spicy and a touch cocoay. The cigar treated me like a connoisseur. Burned very well and tended to right itself whenever the burn became uneven. Thinking of getting another box before the year 2003 comes to an end.

The smokes I got were obviously young, so the flavors were all flush, but the potential is apparent. Toasty caramel with just a hint of spice. Lotto smoke. Abit on the mild side for ISOM, but worth the required reflection.

"Needs some aging"
Wonderful bouquet from this Robaina wrapped Prominente that features a perfect draw, some earth, cedar and mild spice notes, with medium strength and some floral aroma, which builds up to a full body cigar by the midpoint. Its major drowback is that it tends to turn spicy-bitter at the end, but fortunately this will disappear with some aging (6 months +), which will turn this cigar in a great companion to an Fonseca 1963 or 1984, or any good aged Port for that matter.

"Simply World Class"
This is the cigar to smoke when you have a couple of hours to relax and really enjoy it. It's powerful, as expected, but has a plethora of flavors which seem to change the more you smoke it. Nice looking, good ash, good construction, copious amounts of blue smoke... a joy to smoke and reflect on the great aspects of your life.
