"Different, but Average"
A different tasting cigar, but when the dust (or sand) clears on the North Beach and all is said and done, this is an average cigar. It's worth three bucks, so I can't understand why others dissed it in the value area. It has a sweet-tangy maduro taste with a little complexity. Nothing great, but it grew on me. I really wanted it to do better, so maybe you ought to try one. The burn and draw were at least average and it's not bad looking. For the money you could do better....and worse.

"Nope..."
Merlyn is a good reviewer of cigars, as you will find if you check his other reviews. You can take note that what he said about this cigar is absolutely true. This starts of very earthy and harsh, and then around 1/4 of the way in, develops into a very boring oscuro earth/sweetness. What is most bothersome is that funky undertone Merlyn described that I will say is best characterized as musty. It's that smell you find in an old attic. Not good, not enjoyable. Although it was a neat looking rustic cigar, it was not one to savor and I tossed it at about 3/4 through, as it didn't seem like it would get any better, and I really didn't enjoy it. Also, the construction was horrible; the draw was okay but the burn was all over the place, going from having a huge runnerto tunneling.

"Interesting...."
A sweet oscuro start greets you, followed by a tangy and unpleasant first 1/2". The rest is smooth and consistently oscuro, but ultimately boring, lacking complexity, and just kinda odd. I guess if you really like the sweet oscuro flavor this would be fine.

"Interesting oscuro"
As with most oscuros, this one ranks as....interesting. The start was sweet and pleasant, but it developed a tangy funkiness at about 1/2" that lasted almost to the halfway point. No flavor depth and too expensive.

"great cigar, but poor burn"
I bought this at a new store I started going to. I'm a sucker for an oscuro. It looks like a very tough cigar. But once you smoke it, it kind of just washes over you. One of the most amazing cigars I've tried. Bad part, the burn...very very uneven and could not correct it. Maybe a fluke..i hope. Note: I've read some reviews from people that they'd get black dye on their fingers and tongue from this cigar (?!) I had no such problem.

"Oscuro beauty that isn't overpowering"
Good cigar for the money. Great value and mice presentation and construction. Follows in the tradition of lining the box with tobacco leaves. Glass top to see these beauties. Twitsed tobacco foot and and head. I would give it an 92 (in the old 1 to 100 sacle)
