"Hmmmm....."
The more I smoke within this line the more I realize that although these are mostly good...they can be a bit inconsistent...Last 3 had 2 just barley ok...and 1 excellent. 2.5 years box time. When on they are classic maduro wonderful-ness and a damn pleasur to smoke. When off they are sour and yucky. I'll combo-avg rank the last 3.

"Crap"
The first was boring and the last 2 I've let sit in the humidor for a year are still crap. I have two more to go that I am gonna let sit for another year and take Darbarian's advice (the only guy that probably keeps these cigars being produced...haha just playing man).

"11 if I could"
Seriously, I have no idea what the last two reviewers smoked, but I've never had a bad one of these. The Ash is white and the burn perfect. I stick with my previous reviews and would make this an 11 if I could. Get a 5 pack for a song and see what you think. After two years in my humidor, this cigar is smooth as silk and flavorful. For under 2 bucks a stick, there is nothing I've found that can touch it...even 5 dollar sticks are over matched often.

"You have to be joking."
This cigar is not "oozing with oils", it's a crappy dyed wrapper. THis tobacco is put through extra fermentation at all. THis smoke is mediocre at very best. Boring and made with garbage tobacco and slapped with an inflated price tag.

"A lone voice crying in the wind or smoke."
Ok, I told you on my first review, that I might have gotten a hold of a bad one, and I'd get back to you. Especially since everyone else thought these were the greatest things since a little carribean island below Florida started making gars. . I usually don't do two review's, but if "Scotty can do three on this cigar, why not two for the old Smokehole? WHELL, lots of peer pressure, but I'm not going to lie. I stick by my first review. To me, this is not that good a log. I smoked two more and I did like them a little better than the ones I smoked last year. They still taste like smoke, no real flavor or complexity. Maybe I'm not an expert like these other guys, try one for yourself. I can say Bubba, "they look reel purdy." Who you callin an Oscuro.

"Still a ten to me"
What is a 10? Is there a cigar that is a perfect cigar to all people? Probably not. But when I factor in four elements, look, flavor, construction and price , I have my 10 in this cigar. First of all it is dark as nights. Not that painted on oscuro that you get with cigars like El Mejor, but a real deep dark that wants to pull you into the depths. The construction is superb and these tend to burn straight as razors with a white ash which contrasts against the black for the oscuro wrapper leaf, which I enjoy to the nub everytime. The flavor is a medium coffie with a nutty aftertaste that leaves me in a good mood, despite the dark undertones. Now the price. I managed 3 five packs of these great cigars for seven dollars each from C-bid. For less than 2 dollars for this cigar, it meets all criteria for a perfect 10 for me. I have smoked hundreds (possibly thousands) of different cigars over the last 20 years and find this cigar to be the best balance of the four major elements I have seen. Is it really a 10? Well, there are those who will not think so for whatever reason, but in my experience, this fits the bill until something else comes along for 1.25 that can compare.

Now if VC could just make the rest of his lines this special.

"I've yet to have a bad one."
Once properly aged these fabulous sticks do not disappoint! I've had many of these in variable conditions and they are consistently yummy and very smokeable. You know you have a great cigar when it feels heavy, is hard to the touch, looks well packed with a shiny wrapper, and still draws perfectly. For such a little cigar (offhand, without a ruler, I dispute the 5X50 measurements...more like 43/4X49) this 8 month aged stick lasted nearly 2 hours delivering tons of smoke and a wonderful medium bodied maduro type flavor profile. I probably paid around $3 for this on C-Bid. Highly Reccomended.

"VC impresses"
Listen to scotty on the c-bid thing. I got a 5 pack for 9 bucks!
This is a great looking cigar. VERY dark oscuro wrapper and a nice packaging look too. Very flavorful smoke while never reaching far above the mild relm. Probably the best maduro yype ciagr I have had. For SURE the best I've had for the price.

"Buy, try, then tell."
Now that I've stocked up these and after you go to Cigar-Bid and buy a bunch of 5 packs then you can tell your friends. These aren't good. They are fantastic. The last one I smoked had a ripped to shreds wrapper, (careful...warning, fragile wrapper...keep the humidity up on these in your box...if dry...you'll cry!) was smoked outside at an Irish bar in a prevailing wind, lit with a bic, and I had to slurp it down quick because at any moment my pokey-pal buddy Glenn was showing up with the baseball tickets. All this going against this cigar and it still rocked my world. Don't let the small size fool you...there is some strength to these yet they have a nice balanced different type of maduro flavor that hits my palate just right...just take your time and savor them. Make sure you age these bad boys for at least 60 days. You should be able to get these for $2-3 per stick. A 10 in value even at $5 a throw. Very impressed with these.

"A real winner"
Another winner in the 55 line. I've been aging some of these and I'd highly reccomend aging. They are very good right out of the box, but with a little aging these turn into exceptional cigars - this cigar just gets better and better with aging! Smooth medium to full flavor, tastes of chocolate and spice. Beautiful white ash, even cool burn and tons of tasty smoke. Like the red labels these are not particularly cheap cigars, but IMHO even if you pay full retail it's worth the price. This is a really fine cigar!

"Wow!"
What it lacked in appearance it made up for in flavor and smoking experience. This 5 country blend aged 5 years (hence Serie 55) started to burn uneven and had a slightly tight draw. The burn corrected itself and the draw improved with some gentle massaging. This let me get to what I considerered to be a smooth, rich, knockout flavor profile of coffee, dark chocolate, some earth and spice and an overall nice medium to full tobacco flavor. She lasted about an hour and 20 minutes and burnt nice and slow with a tighty grey-whitey ash. Nice aftertaste. Very surprised and impressed with this stick. Nabbed a fiver for $10. At that price a 10 in value. They can go for $5-7/ stick. Please read D.Dreggs well done first review of this stick.

"Nojo Mojo Throjo out the Windo"
As a maduro this especially fails miserably!
I couldn't wait to smoke this attractive, dark maduro. It looked so classy with its blue wrapper at the head and foot. But alas, it tasted like smoke from beginning to end. Just alittle bitter with no complexity. Where was the chocolate, the sweetness, the flavor. Good thing I got this at a big discount, I've tasted a lot better sticks than this for a buck a piece, and so have you! After reading the other reviews, all I can think is that I got a bad one. I'll let you know.

"Pretty Good"
I am a newer smoker so my palate is not particluarly well tuned so take my reviews with a grain of salt. Got one of these in a CI Victor Sinclair Boho sampler. The Oscuro was pretty good but lacking in punch. This one was better (which explains the higher retail cost) being both more flavorful and a bit more kick. Burned perfectly. White ash. No construction issues.
Little pleasant spice in the nose. I doubt I've ever smoked a 10 and I'd give a CAO Brazilia GOL a 9. In comparison this would be a 7.

Though less oomph, I like the VS Bohomenian Black Brazilian a little better too.

"Mojo"
Whether this Mojo is black or white depends entirely on the smokers maturity. A cigar novice may recoil from the potent blend of five-year aged tobaccos this cigar offers; while a seasoned afficionado would revel in the rich complexity, contained within its Oscuro Brazilian Maduro Wrapper, Dominican Olor Binder and Nicaraguan, Brazillan, and Dominican fillers. Seasoned afficionados will appreciate the experience this cigar has to offer.

As for myself; this stick definitely pushed my cigar acuity envelope to its limits. My saliva gauge redlined as I smoked this potent blend! While smoking the hoodoo stick, a fissure manifest itself aproximately three-quarters down from the foot. A primordial ooze, that which seeped from the crack, actually stained my thumb when I wiped it away! This alone affirmed potency to the oils contained within. A nearly black, Brazilian Maduro Wrapper developed an attractive, oily sheen. The bold,
aromatic bouquet and rich, long-lasting aftertaste may be attributed to the same abundance of oils; as was the somewhat
tempermental burn which necessitated multiple re-lights.

If you'd like a little Voodoo in your life, sans zombies and shrunken heads, try one of these. It's one you'll either love or hate. Whether this mojo turns out to be black or white; well...that's entirely up to you.
