"Save your money"
I did try to give the so-called 'Vintage' line a fair and objective assessment. I have tried all of them, from early on, to those with 8 months of humidor time. IMHO, they are all the same, not very good.

"Where's the Chocolate!"
I bought this cigar with the sole purpose of experiencing the milk chocolate flavor everyone talks about. Needless to say, it was a decent smoke with a good draw, however....NO chocolate flavor at all....none....nadda

"Excellent, and Prices Dropped Significantly"
Just a couple of years ago, these cigars were tough to find at under $100 a box. Now, they are available at around $40, and when on special, average at just $30 per box. (if one factors in a nifty 20 cigar sampler of all various sizes, at just an additional $20 with box purchase) The roll is top notch, although the heavy box press may be a bit severe, and the draw will sometimes suffer on occasion, which is how I arrived at an 8 construction rating. However, the box press adds to the value, as I will explain later in the review. The cigar I am smoking now needed a quick touch up with the draw poker, but it would still have been ok without. Very good burn, a bit uneven at times, but no problem. A milk chocolate shade of wrapper, perhaps maduro? Quite a few very thin veins, barely noticeable to the touch. I have always found these VC Vintage quite delicious. The Nicaraguan qualities stand out, with delicious coffee and cocoa overtones. A nice portion of bread and nuts also are present, with touches of bakery spice. Tastes good inhaling, and leaves a delicious aftertaste. A medium body, with a fairly silky texture of smoke, just a tad bit dry on the finish, but still very nice. The taste is so good, I do not mind the slight dryness. I would have scored an overall experience 10, but the slightly dry finish deducts a point. I thought these cigars were a decent value at the old prices, because they are very good. At the current reduced prices, they are a top notch value. Also, the box press makes for a slow burn, and the cigar lasts longer, which also adds value. After smoking the disappointing Victor Sinclair "regular line" cigar, I would have never guessed these sweethearts are made by the same company. I will definitely buy more.

"Aged is best UPDATE"
This cigar is a smooth, yet punchy cigar. Deep flavors and they give me a good buzz most of the time. The price is right if you buy a box of them from C/I. The boxpressing really make it fit snugly into your grip. Dark wrapper and fancy smancy wrapping make this cigar seem like a top shelf brand. Remeber, it is not how much you paid, but how much you enjoyed.... Super cigar UPDATE: I've had thse in the humi for about 9 months and they are just sooooo good now. I am impressed with how cool these stay now. I wonder if the box pressing afects that or not....less of a chimney effect? Anyway, I needed to update this one just because it has improved, even though my previous review was already gushing love for these. Try them!
