How you spend your time

I asked this question in the pipe forum, but I find it's just as relevant, or even more so, in here. Do you find yourself spending more time reading about, researching, shopping for, and discussing cigars than you actually do smoking them. For me, it's too often the case. Does anybody else have this dilema?

I fit into that category. Unfortunately, free time seems to become more and more scarce leaving me with little time to sit out with a great cigar. I try to keep the weekends free but they too seem to get jam packed lately. I keep reading about different things that sound like they would interest me and I run out and grab a few and than next thing you know it seems like I have a waiting list of things that I bought to try and just never got around to it. Than when the opportunity does present itself I more often than not reach for a stick I know I will definitely enjoy(out of my usual rotation) and again the newer stuff gets neglected. I seem to suffer from the double edge sword too which is I usually slow down come winter time but most of the time its too damn cold to sit outside with a smoke anyway. Moving to NC has helped a little in that area but my goal is to have teh garage in full man cave effect this winter with heater and all so I can finally get down to some smoking at home.

Oh yeah. I spend all my time reading about cigars and playing with my fridgador but I rarely have time to actually sit down and smoke a stick these days. It's just nice knowing they'll be there when I finally do have the time.

Definitely. I love to smoke, love to read, usually do both at the same time, but I hardly ever have the time to do either. Doesn't help that I can only smoke outdoors, and that season is quickly ending. It's a lot easier to grab a few minutes to shop, browse, or read CS in between chores, at work, etc.

Because of this very board I do...but it is a good thing :ss

I will take my laptop outside and play poker/read the board/and smoke at the same time. Just waiting for it to cool down so I can do this again.

:tuYes thanks to Club Stogie. I work long hours and have two kids at home including a 1 year old so sometimes smoking a cigar is not possible. This week my one year old is at my parents house so as you can tell by my review posts, I have been doing one per night. Not normal for me though.

I often reading about, research, shop for, and discuss cigars while smoking one....so it all evens out for me.

I would have to say I read about, and shop for cigars more then I smoke them. I usually do both at night, but whenever I have free time at work I am trying to learn more about cigars.

Wireless internet and a laptop in the smoking lounge would fix this problem.

Can't do it here, but back home this is no problem.

But then again, it's best to research before purchase/smoking than to spend a lot of time smoking substandard (for your own tastes) sticks, IMO.

I spend much more time reading, shopping, talking, and researching cigars. I make time everyday to smoke one but I am always thinking about them.:ss

I am like the rest of you. I work long hours mon-fri so Idon't have the time but on weekend I usually have about 6 sticks. Of course most of my reasearch is spent flipping through catologs while in the can.

The discussion, reseach, and purchasing are some of the biggest factors that make this a hobby. Otherwise we might as well be smoking nasty cigarettes.

I do more reading, and researching than I do smoking. At the moment, I have no smoking friends, so I have to talk to my brother on the phone if I want to disscuss them.

absolutely. I maybe get time for two cigars a week, so I spend more time reading about them than smoking them.
