Is ground coffee good for cigars?

LOL Tzaddi, yeah they are flavored already but not impressive. I was hoping to make them taste better. I bought a bundle of 40 based on the shape of the cigar instead of the taste.

I havent tried the coffee yet but I still have a Playboy by Don Diego sitting in a spare humi with a Jack Daniels soaked sponge. I occasionally roll the cigar on the sponge to soak up more whiskey, I also dip the foot and head in. Ya know what would be good...the new jack daniels flavored coffee they came out with. The best of 2 worlds!:tu

I just put some Solo Cafe sticks with ground coffee in a ziplock bag. Hos long should I let them sit there before smoking?
I gave mine 2 days, and it made a difference. I have a couple of mixed boxes now with about a tablespoon of coffee grounds scattered in each box. The ones I've tried are very nice. (After about 2 weeks.)

Never heard of Solo Cafe sticks, but why not do it up right and try the experiment with something of good quality and not already flavored? You know the old saw - junk in, junk out... Larry.

Since this thread have there been any other ideas for reviving a dead smoke? I have some sticks that have aged too long and the coffee thing sounds better than just throwing them away.

Also I have a bunch of old foam humidifiers I wonder if it is better to add coffee to the humidifier and put them in a tupperdor.

I don't want them to be flavored flavored but last night I threw one away after the first third and that is a shame.

I read somewhere here on CS, but can't find it now, that DC cigars seem to lose their "vitality" after a year or two in the humi. But I'm new to the cigar world too, so I'm clearly not the guy with the straight answers.

Yeah, I was kind of curious too.
Do some lose their flavor after a while? I just assumed all cigars got better with age, or stayed the same.

Some NCs can become bland if aged for too long. Mine are a few months shy of 5 years old and there is no joy in smoking them and there hasn't been in the last 9 months or so. I kept hoping they'd turn back around but it just doesn't seem like it is going to happen. I tried one last night and I couldn't make it past the first 1/3.

Medium-fulls and fulls seem to hold up the best at longer stretches of time.

Learned my lesson though. I will never purchase anything less than a medium full in boxes again.

I have always stored my RP Edges in coffee grounds. As a matter of fact, currently i have some that have been aging just over a year in coffee grounds. I does not infuse them, but it does give it a much deeper more complex taste. Coffee has always done my cigars good, the longer they sit in coffee, the better they become...:2 btw...i put a nice bed of grounds on the floor of the box, then put the cigars in, then put a thin sheet of ceder in, and finally i completely cover everything with grounds and close the lid.

Armpit infused Swishers...

....I'm sorry, but I had to share that misguided thought with you all....the voices compelled me.

WAY back when (maybe a year ago) :D I put some whole coffee beans in a small humi with some decent NC smokes. I gotta say that some small amount of flavor SEEMED to be imparted in those smokes :tu

Regardless I doubt a small amount of coffee could change the taste TOO much...If anything the smell alone may impart SOMETHING for the first part of the smoke.

 :dr :) :tu Just my ramblings... :tu

I am glad that this thread was revived. I was thinking about doing this with some La Rosa Especials:pu that I was sorry that I bought.

I thought Swishers were already armpit infused??

I was gifted a bundle of Free Cuba's. I don't think the guy liked me much. I may try this on them. half coffee and the other half a good tea. I'll try anything. I hate to throw them away. and I have too much love for the troops to send them to them.

I am trying it with ground coffee so that there is more surface area exposure. I have nothing to lose so if it doesn't work I am just out a cheap can of MH coffee that I bought for this experiment. I am going to let it sit for 3 months in its special tupperdor opening once a week for air exchange. I haven't added humidification yet but I am probably going to use some of those old 70 percent beads I have 1) because extra humidity might help and 2) I don't care if they get ruined.

I will try it at 3 and 6 months and really if they haven't turned around at least a little by then I am dumping the whole setup.
